Everything is really good!!! This is the best place to stay when you’re traveling to tokyo. Kim and Tom are the best hosts. They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive — always available if we needed anything, yet respectful of our privacy. Their genuine hospitality, helpful recommendations, and kind gestures made us feel not just like guests, but like family. It’s rare to find such a perfect combination of comfort, cleanliness, charm, and above all, hosts who go above and beyond to ensure your stay is memorable. We’re leaving with full hearts and can’t wait to return. Thank you so much for everything!

Mr Tom was very helpful and both he and his wife were super friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. While the rooms are small by American standards they are clean and serviceable

It's not that convenient as the nearest train is the nippori toneri line necessitating at least 2 trains or a long walk to another line with every trip but thee NT connects directly to the Yamanote line which has most of Tokyo's attractions so its OK. We didn't mind the transfer.

The hosts were so nice. It’s an elderly couple who are the sweetest people in the world. It was outside of Tokyo but cheapest option so I stayed here.

Really really small room. Like. Really small. Lol. It fits about a twin bed only. I didn’t mind. All I did was come back to sleep there and I was out exploring all day. It was a bit surprising to see the size of the room but again I didn’t mind it at all because all I need is a bed to sleep. Nice that it’s a private room, and there is a shared bathroom with one shower with hot water the other one doesn’t. I used the hot shower daily and didn’t have a problem waiting for anyone. It was very easy.

The Staff / Owner are really nice and very helpful. Also taking time for you. Telling you also very interesting story about the place (when you ask them). Also you can bi in Tokyo Center really fast, just 2 Station with the Local Train to Nippori then with the Yamanote Line strait in like 2 Station to Ueno (near Akrihabra) or cont. to Shinjuku or Tokyo Central. Also some Convenience Stores around the place. I highly recommencement this place.

Well, it is very good booked, so it is hard to getting a booking done if you book in a high season....

The place is located at a very convenient spot when traveling in Central Tokyo. You have a great variety of transportation that are near the Guest house. It's just less than 10min train ride to Nippori station which gives you access to the main JR lines. 1 bus ride to Komagome which has the beautiful Rikugien Garden. and 2 more train lines near the location. There's a 7Eleven nearby the place and some other convenience stores that require a bit of walking but are not far. There are also 2 bath houses located near the place which you should definitely visit if you are into that! The hosts Kimiko-san and Tom-san were really nice, and it felt like you were part of their family. Staying at the living room was great cause you got to talk and make friends with the other guests. If you need a cheap place to stay at for long periods, I highly recommend this place. Will definitely book here again in the future!

The one bad thing that happened to me was that I had my shoe stolen. If you've got some nice shoes, I recommend just keeping them in your room for safety. Aside from that, everything was great!

We stayed here for 7 weeks, during which Tom-san and Kimiko-san were friendly and helpful hosts. The room is small but clean. The common room is a very nice place to relax. The bathrooms were clean. For the price, it's a great place for staying in Tokyo for a few weeks. If you're planning on spending a lot of time in Shibuya and Shinjuku, this place might be a bit far off. But Higashi-Ogu is a very nice and cozy neighborhood and we loved spending time in Arakawa district. In any case there is a subway stop a few minutes from the guesthouse, as well as several supermarkets and shops within walking distance.

Note that the room doesn't contain any furniture apart from the bed and some railings to hang clothes on. If you're planning on staying for a long time this might be good to know. Because we stayed for 7 weeks, we bought some of our own cheap furniture to make it more comfortable. The kitchen is pretty small, so when everybody wants to cook at the same time, you might have to wait. The same is true for the showers: when the hostel is full, sometimes you have to wait for your turn.

The amenities were so nice to have. From a shower, washer, dryer, towels, and everything else you'd need to start/end your day. The host are extremely nice and helpful with any request or question you may have. I will 10000% be back!

You need to use the shower wisely if the place starts getting full. Just be mindful of that. They have showers on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th(?) Floor so you can always find one

Family room was more than enough for myself and daughter. plenty of room for us, bags etc etc. Staff were more than helpful with any info required and general chatting. Being a guest house made it a bit more social than a standard hotel as well which was nice. The family room (two types of rooms onsite) has a double bed, and a single over double bunkbed.

Location wise the only drawback (and this is not a fault of the hotel). the local rail station is not on the JR rail pass. It is one of the few in the Tokyo area that is not included. It's no big deal cost-wise, just always make sure you have change available for the machines, and make sure you understand how to operate them. Our first few days my daughter kept on rushing and we would "miss the train" because of setting up tickets, then I explained to her "Don't rush, there is a train like every 5-10 minutes here" :)

Guest House owned by a very friendly couple who speak very good English. Located less than 5mins from Akado-shogakkome station and less than 15mins from Machiyaekimae. Nearby neighbourhood restaurant

If the Guest house is full you can wait a bite to use the shower, so weak-up earlier to avoid that. Otherwise nothing.
