Even I didn't give it 10/10 but my husband and I agreed that we will stay here again if we go to Tokyo again. Location and comfort are super! It locates few minutes (3-4mins) walking to 2 JR lines and metro line, with this price, you cannot find better! It's not close to Shinjuku/Shibuya (around 35-40mins by train) but it is very close to Ueno and around. Also, the room size is typical in Tokyo but we managed to stay comfortably with 1 small child (4 y/o) and 3 big luggages. The hotel gave us a feeling of homey somehow.
As other reviews about the noise, yes it does loud but to me, who is very hard to sleep, I wasn't bothered by that. I got used to it in few days and later days, I got so tired from walking/travelling so I slept without any problem. There was also toilet smell which I dont like the most about the hotel but it was not a big deal if you compare with the price and location.

Great location and very near to train station (about 2 - 3 mins walk). Next to AEON supermarket and not far from 7E shop. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacious. Not forgetting, the bed was comfy, too. Some people commented that the train track sound was noisy, but for us, it did not bother us at all. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and 1 of them can actually speak 4 languages. When returning to the hotel at the end of the day, without fail, we usually take a short stop at the lobby to enjoy their complimentary coffee and ice cream before heading upstairs. .

The location was great. We were a block away from eateries, two Seven Elevens, a supermarket, coffee shop and Nishi Nipporo station (2 stops from Ueno Park and Ueno Ameyoko shopping street; 5 stops to Akihabara). We were worried about its proximity to the railway line (literally a few metres from our room) but with sound proofing it was a gentle rumble so really not a problem. The free coffee (machine at reception), filtered water and ice cream were a nice extra. It may be the norm in Japanese hotels, but not in NZ, so was great to have access to washing machines and dryers.
Only a minor thing but we missed having an opening windows to let air flow in.

The hotel's location is very good--close to the train station and Ueno Park. The room was not fancy but it was comfortable at a fair price. The staff, especially Manda, was very friendly and helpful--they tried their best to get us what we needed (ice, a restaurant recommendation, a taxi). I also liked the washing machines on the 2nd floor near my room--it was very convenient to wash clothes. Free coffee downstairs is a nice treat (+ ice cream sticks).
No breakfast option but there was a grocery store nearby so it was easy to get food to eat. There was some noise from people sitting near the elevator but they quieted down when I told them that I could hear their voices in my room.

Attentive staff go out of their way to help you They used translation app just to make sure you got to your destinations using the subway lines which are very conveniently located around the corner a block down for underground and 1/2 block down more from there and you can catch the JR train line which connects you to everywhere in Tokyo saved us a lot of money instead of taxis everywhere plus we got to explore and learn our way around a little better Needed a special gift for the 5 year old grandson that I was having no luck finding at any stores until the evening staffs young man suggested to go to Akihabara jump off the train and I would find myself in front of nothing but you stores I was sadly going to give up and my last store I asked the young lady at the register DAN DA DAN? TURBO GRANNY? She simply lifted her left hand palm up like a tv show host and directed me to the left and the angels sang and pearly lights shined down! TURBO GRANNY! plush plus it was a back pack! After returning to Hotel Tokyo Trip I almost kissed the young man I was so happy It was the last day before end of trip and he saved the day! The day manager was a more adult gentleman he was the one who used the app to give me directions to get around since day 2! Day 1?

Good beds with good pillows. Good tatami area with a small desk and cushions for sitting on. Good shower/bath. Good location for access to groceries, convenience stores, and drug stores. I spent the week holed up and getting over a cold instead of exploring the area, but it looked like there were a lot of nice small restaurants in the area.
There was a dental pick on the floor between the beds from a previous traveler which wasn't cleaned up even on one of the multiple days of my stay. The cleaners did a good job with the rest of the place, but that stood out to me. Also, the balcony is actually just a small patio fenced off from a larger shared patio that no one seemed to use. There's no extra sense of space or a view to be had. Finally, and this is unavoidable due to the location, but one can hear every passing train quite loudly. Thankfully they stop running around midnight, but it's hard to sleep in or listen to something in the room without noise cancelling headphones.

They provide all toiletries that you will need for traveling. The location of the hotel is located right next to JR station, and 6 mins walk from Nippori station for skyliner if you are landing at Narita. You can easily hop on a train and get to your next destination.
One thing I did not like was the noise coming from the train/skyliner from passing by the hotel. It was tolerable with the use of ear plugs. On our fifth day staying at the hotel, I noticed there were some leakage of yellow liquid coming out from toilet, not sure if it was because we stayed on the lower level, I noticed a puddle of water on the bathroom floor right next to toilet and it made the bathroom smelled like public restroom.

Very pleasant personnel, smooth check-in and -out processes, wide range of free amenities from toothbrushes to face cream etc, and even free delicious ice cream sticks at the reception desk. Room much more spacious than we expected for Tokyo, location perfect super close to Nishi-Nippori and Nippori Stations which is ideal for trains around Tokyo and Skyliner to Narita Airport.
No breakfast, but that wasn't an issue since we just got some sandwiches and onigiri at the nearby konbini stores to eat in the morning and that worked perfectly fine. There was a smoking terrace at the end of the hallway and smells of cigarette smoke did sometimes come into the rooms and hallways, but not so much that it really bothered us.

For any westerners concerned about bed hardness, this hotel is pretty good. The beds are firm but not rock-hard. I recommend if you are a couple, get a twin room so that you have plenty of space. The rooms are a good size - ours was just a standard twin, but it had lounge chairs, and a little space near the door separate to the room for plenty of luggage. The bathroom is a standard small enclosed bath/toilet/sink. The bath was deep if you like to have a good hot soak, but short in length. There's also a reasonable step up to the bathroom, - around 30cms. Significant for those who aren't good with stairs - however, there is a grab rail inside the door you can use to assist you. The room was clean, and the TV was a little low at bed height. Access is great for both Nishi-Nippori and Nippori stations - you're basically in the middle of the two and about a 4 or 5 minute walk to either. You're also right next door to a mini Aeon supermarket - you can get salads, drinks, alcohol, food and necessities there. Plenty of great restaurants nearby as well. If you need a great coffee - grab one at Tullys near Nippori Station. I would definitely stay here again - it's on the Yamanote line and has a lovely 'village' feel in that area of Nippori. Check out Fabric Town if you're a crafty person as well - a lovely walk and you will be hard-pressed to leave empty handed :)

The hotel is nice! The staff is really friendly. We’ve got an upgrade on our room so it was really nice, a very spacious room. Everything was very clean and there was good amenities on the hotel lobby to choose from and bring to the room. The neighborhood is good, is near the train station and have good restaurants around. The hotel is near the train tracks so you can hear the train passing during the day but nothing that’s too loud to not sleep well. The bed is very comfortable. We’ve enjoyed staying at the hotel and look forward for our next visit.
