Exceptionally designed home, an intimate experience that will want you coming back again and again. The only thing I’d change is not staying in room 103, there is zero sound proofing from the street/car noise, the hotel was kind enough to provide ear plugs, but sadly the noise was so loud we hardly slept. I think the other rooms that don’t face the street would be the best way to go. I’d absolutely come back and take more time to discover Ukiha. Highly recommend Minamo and Ukiha 🫶🫶🫶thank you!

Breakfast was great and traditional, however the breakfast location was not located where the rooms were and you had to take a 10min walk. Rooms were super big but the blinds are not black out ones so they did not keep the light out in the early mornings. The snacks provided in the room was a nice touch as the shops close very early in Ukiha.

There was no onsen on site but they have a bath tub in the bathroom. You will need to descend a steep flight of stairs everytime you need to use the bathroom which was situated downstairs, at least for room 101 if I recall correctly.

Street noise is a real problem. Even people walking past you can hear indoors. Not the property’s fault but especially loud cars are a problem

We went in late December. So being old houses, it was a bit cold even with heating. Sliding doors leaked cold air in.

Amazing and spacious room with very comfortable beds. The breakfast Kaiseki was delightful located in a separate historical building.
