The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in every way. They arranged for a couple of long taxi excursions for us. At meal times they were very helpful and kind. Exceptionally nice staff! Huge grocery store and 100-yen shop within walking distance (see below). You can easily take taxis to more distant destinations, such as Onta Yaki Pottery Village.

There is not much to walk to around the hotel or in the town itself, as private cars are the main mode of transportation and everything is quite spread out. That said, there is a huge grocery store (which has a nice selection of ready made foods for lunches), a 100-yen store and a Muji store within a ten minute walk. But don't use Google Maps to try to walk there, because it will direct you where you are not supposed to walk (through the property of the water bottling plant next door) AND on non-existent streets. Instead, just walk east along the north side of the island until you reach the place where the cars turn into the shopping center.

The room is big compared to many Japanese hotels. I love how they have a little sitting area in the room in front of the TV you could sit and drink together. They have a big public bath in the hotel. The outdoor bath got a water fountain to drink the hot spring water 💧 kind of interesting. As not often you get to drink spring water from public bath or onsen. And this hotel is owned by the water manufacturer corporation next door. You could see their factory just right next to it. The entire hotel water supply using their own brand bottled water. And I know is strategy to advertising their brand. But I absolutely like the idea they give us free bottled green tea when we leave their hotel. Say for us to drink on our trip.

The front door with small roof shade is very limited. Many cars crowded at the door when loading and unloading the luggage when raining. Have to wait for one by one if you don't want to get wet.

The room is big enough for 3 persons. Good Breakfast. The hotel has free shuttle bus to pick up at train station. However, no shuttle bus in the early morning but it's still ok that there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. All rooms face to the river and mountain view. The hotel is near to Aeon. The hotel gives us the bottle of green tea when we check out.

The receptionist was so prepared to handle english speaking guests with her translation app on her tablet. She even walked us all the way to the lift. Room was very spacious with a small platform for a traditional Japanese table n seats. Onsen was great. Breakfast was superb.

The furnishings are a little dated. You can tell this place was once the pinnacle of luxury in the city but it's age is starting to show in some areas.

Good onsen hotel. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Public onsen is big and has indoor and outdoor. Breakfast is amazing! You can experience many Japanese menu and they are all delicious. They gave us 2 bottles of tea (per 1 person) as a souvenir!

Staffs are very polite and helpful but they barely speak English so you should talk to them via Google translate app.

It’s really value for money. There is internal shuttle bus available at 1030hrs, and the check out time is 1000hrs.

Direct public transport is not that frequent if you are not planning to take taxi nor prepared to walk (especially in the bitter winter cold

Lights off at night so it can get a little creepy if you need to go to the lobby to get some toiletries by the counter.

Compliemntary bottled green tea from local spring water when checking out. Onsen is okay with good quality natural spring. The hotel provide free 24 hr provision of famous local spring water for drinking.
