In room onsen is always nice. Outdoor lanae with table and chairs. Free transport to train station. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast and dinners. Friendly enough staff. Small scale. 6 tooms. It is a rustic roadhousr.

There is really no place to walk. We needed a couple days to do nothing to recover from travel so two days in and out of the tub, reading, enjoying prepared meals was what we needed. But if yiu want to tour nature and not just be in nature you need a car here. The complex needs some maintenance where weather has taken a toll. Still, a nice stay.

Love the private onsen at each room and there is a foot spa area with free sparkling lemonade (only for summer). Free parking available for those who drives here. The dinner and breakfast was fantastic and I’m fascinated with the amount of dishes provided in the meal and everything taste SO GOOD especially their sashimi is so fresh! Worth every penny spent!

Due to the rich minerals of the hot spring, there’s white deposits on the water tap with may look disgusted. But also due to this reason, we can confirm that the spring water is natural and rich in minerals and my skin feel so smooth and soft after the onsen.

The view! It was out of town but that's exactly what we wanted. The private onsen were amazing and if you book dinner at the ryokan you will not be disappointed. It was so beautifully presented and showcased local ingredients I think it should be noted that they do a shuttle between ryokan and station starting in the morning and I think.last one from station to ryokan around 3pm which is very handy. We walked into town for dinner for one night and found a very cool little sashimi and sake bar. The walk was all downhill and past rice paddy fields and was just lovely

To be honest, I think the dining room lacked some character and I think they could have made more of the view outside and felt a bit like a canteen sometimes when they would rumble past with a trolley and loudly loaded used plates from a neighboring table while we were still eating. I guess it was just at odds with how serene and classy the place was in general

Private Onsen in room. Free serving soft drinks, tea and coffee from common area. Japanese dinner & breakfast served was great. Ryokan is about 5mins drive away from town. So it is away from the crowd. I believe they offer pickup and dropoff to/from Yufuin town. For drivers. They have carpark available.

For non-drivers, a lack of convenience shops. esp after 5:30pm when their own shop closes. so if you are looking for some alcohol or snacks during evening. could be an issue. Otherwise all good.

Amazing stay at this Ryokan. The staff were wonderful and super attentive. The room was within Japanese standard sizes, but we managed to fit everything in without too many issues (we had 2 70l bags, 2 suitcases and 2 small bags). The private Onsen was perfectly sized for 2 people and the mountain view was amazing. Both breakfast and dinner were outstanding. It's located within 5min drive from yufuin but fat enough to escape the crowds. I would definitely stay here again!

Each meal was elaborately prepared and offered a good spread. They were also tasty with a touch of authenticity and creativity. The place is quiet and offers a spectacular view of the mountain from the bedroom / bathroom+onsen / patio.

The room was a tad small, but suppose the focus is on the private onsen. There were also several steps in order to access the restaurant, which was not easy for those with mobility issues. Perhaps you can ask the operator for a workaround to this. Yukata is not available for those larger in size.

The hotel was built up in the hill, and the room we booked has a pretty view overlooking the city plus a private onsen. Dinner and breakfast were included with a very reasonable price comparatively with all other Yufuin properties. Dinner was unexpectedly great, not only the variety but also the tastes were absolutely delicious. They were willing to substitute other meat instead of fish for me and I really appreciate that!!

The location is pretty remote. They do provide shuttle service but would be after 8:00 breakfast. Unfortunately we needed to leave really early, no taxis was available snd eventually we had no choice but just walking down the hill all the way to the city. That costs us more than 30 minutes. If one has flexible plan than it would not be a problem.

Nice onsen in the newly and tastefully renovated room, good view from balcony, comfortable beds. Very busy place in the front but once you’re in your room you don’t notice. Good food, overall very good value for money. Many Japanese are staying overnight for the weekend, so it does not feel too touristy. Friendly helpful staff.

Can get very busy due to busses arriving for lunch. But in the rooms at the back you don’t notice and they all leave in the afternoon. So no big issue.

We love the breakfast and dinner provided over the 2 days. Even though we stayed for 2 nights, Ryokan made sure the food was different from the day before. There is a free shuttle from the train station. Love the private onsen in the room. The view from the balcony was nice.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, they tried their best to communicate with us and were very patient with us as we can only speak very basic and broken Japanese. Big kudos to the staffs. The dinner and breakfast also exceeded my expectations. It was truly delicious and aesthetic.

Really, all has been perfect, nothing to dislike here.
