The room is huge with high ceiling! The interior has a mixture of japanese & europian, making a tasteful hostel vibe. There is a kitchen and fire place in the common area. This was very helpful because we arrived late in the evening. We got some convenience store food and used cups and plates to make it into a feast. It is a generally very well equpped and clean accommodation. There are private onsen facilities both indoor and out door in the hotel. I am not sure if the water is real hot spring or just heated water. But it is private and it can be a good experience for the first onsen user. There is a lake near that is famous for the morning view. This accommodation can be a good choice if you can't afford expensive ryokan in this area, but want to visit the lake early in the morning. The village of Yufuin is crazy beautiful. The nature looks amazing and dense. We were so impressed to see all these mountains surrounding the town as the first thing in the morning. The buildings and streets are picturesque.

If you are going to Yufuin this is where you will want to stay. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly. When I woke up early in the morning I went in the commons area and there was the most relaxing music. I had a mug of cocoa and was grateful I made the choice to stay here. We loved the bikes and the onsen.

It’s a little ways away from the Main Street but that was still a good thing because walking through all the streets is a joy.

The receptionist was very friendly and polite. The room was spacious, and the location was great. I especially liked the terrace on the second floor and the common area on the first floor.I originally planned to stay in Yufuin for just one day, but I loved it so much that I ended up spending all three days of my Kyushu trip here, canceling my plans to visit Kumamoto and Nagasaki. I hope I’ll have the chance to come back again.

We happened to arrive at the coldest day, snow accumulated about 20cm over the night. Luckily the hotel has the family hot spring bath room to kept us warm. The kitchen is nice, although lack of proper cooking tool like frying pans. But as an experienced traveler I happened to bring my own cooking tool so I was able to enjoy the full potential of the kitchen. Hotel sitting about 500m away from the downtown street, should be a nice walk in a beautiful day. From the balcony you are able to see the tofuyan mountain.

3 different private onsen, 1 outdoor and 2 indoor. Because the hotel does not have that many rooms there's almost always at least 1 onsen available. I've personally never had to wait to enter one of them. The rooms are very spacious and very nice

Cute hotel with cozy space in the shared area and kitchen. Spacious room with big twin beds. Outdoor private onsen is amazing even in the summer. Great location, not far from town centre nor the lake

About 15 min walk from station so not easy with luggage in the summer. Hotel can try to book a taxi but being a small town so may be hard. Uber or other applications may work (though we did not try).

The place has a homely vibe, fully functioning kitchen and a spacious lounge area. There are 3 private baths available as well. The room is nice and clean.

The location is a bit far from the station (~15-20 mins walk) for people who are not driving. Taxi was not available before 10am hence we walked to the station with our luggage in the rain after check out.

Lovely guesthouse in a rural setting that was in walking distance of key tourist spots in the charming Yufuin. There was a large lounge for guests to use that was very pleasant to chill in (loved the quirky decor) and access to a kitchen to cook yourself food. Coffee machine provided free hot drinks.

Yufuin Tabinokura is within walking distance of the JR Yufuin Station and many of the main sites in Yufuin such as Kinrin Lake and Yunotubo Street. It has a tasteful decor and the rooms are spacious. Anyone visiting Yufuin probably has onsen on their TODO list. This ryokan has three family baths you can use, one outdoor and two indoor. The outdoor one was the primary reason we chose this ryokan (along with the very reasonable price), but it was closed due to a big snow storm when we visited. We tried one of the indoor ones and it was very dated. Fortunately, this ryokan is affiliated with two other ones, and guests of any of the three ryokans can use the baths at all three for free. So on the second day of our stay, we went to Yufuin Lamp no Yado to use the outdoor family bath there, which was much nicer. (The third affiliated ryokan is Yufuin Akari no Yado).

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when you could find them, but they were seemingly only onsite for only a few hours a day. There was a sign telling you to call them for any emergency, but I didn't feel like something like asking for an extra pillow qualified as an emergency.

The location of the inn maybe little bit remote, however, the inn provides bicycle to you which makes it convenient to go to nearby shops. The inn is very close to the famous lake which is just 10 min walk only. Our package includes the grilled meat dinner, and the restaurant is located in a sister inn which is few minutes ride away. The inn provides one bottle of water to each guest. The hot spring is private and small in size. Free parking lot provided. The inn staff is very helpful and he speaks good english. Free coffee is available too.

The toilet inside the room is little bit stinkly. Apart from this, everything is fine there.
