We stayed in a suite with an open-air onsen on the ground floor . The experience was absolutely exceptional. The service, meal quality and overall ambiance were a perfect 10/10. The dinner blew our mind (we often seek out Michelin restaurants when we travel). Another delightful touch was the aroma of tea leaves in the suite adding to the tranquil atmosphere (except the Korean couple next door playing music loud) The ryokan offers a free pick-up service from Yufuin Station—just give them a call upon arrival. Having some basic Japanese can enhance communication with the wait staff

We couldn’t get a chance to try out both public onsen and 2 private onsens for all guests but are super happy with our private one in en-suite

Food was great, room quite large, enjoyed the onsen

Stairs to the second floor was unsheltered and we encountered heavy rain on both days - difficult to carry luggage up/down especially in the rain. There was a downstairs room available but was fixed and charging for a triple stay for food even though I only had 2 pple staying in the room. I needed a ground floor room for my elderly parents cos they can't climb stairs. But the booking staff refused to allow me to book for just 2 people - insisting that I pay for 3 adults + meals even though only 2 people +meals in the room - that's not reasonable. For some reason close to a month before when I rechecked other booking platforms, I was able to book the ground floor room for 2 for my parents +meals and being charged only for 2.

The location was away from the busy Main Street but close that we could still explore yufuin and what we offered

I don’t have much negative to say about the facility but if I needed to list one thing. During dinner they had a neat and nice printout of what was being served but breakfast didn’t seem to have any unfortunately not a big deal to me as I still enjoyed everything on the breakfast menu

Away from the major busy train station area. A more traditional Japanese onsen inn. Not big but cozy. The name of the inn related to tea. Thus, they serve you some nice tea. Even the room has tea infuser (heating tea leaves under candle). Amazing food as we ordered the dinner and breakfast package. Price is not cheap but good quality meals and memorable experience.

Small in style which lacks of big indoor meeting places or lounge area. Each room is enter directly from outside (two levels). Upper level need to use stairs. No elevator. Hot spring entrance is via outdoor as well. So need to travel a short distance from your room to the onsen.

Love the hot spring in room and the food arranged. The availability of drinks in the fridge is also nice. I come with family so the fact that you provided family room is great. Flexible menu is very good which allows us to swap between different tastes and cultures.

The fire set up on the table is not strong/long enough. Hopefully there is handrail installed in the bathroom for bathtub and shower for the elderly.

We’ve stayed with the whole family (4 adults, 2 kids) for the night on the family room. The room is big for Japanese standards, very comfortable and authentically decorated. We had 3 rooms, with 4 futons and 2 twin beds. The room also had a private outdoors bath with a view to mount Yufu. That was great! There were another bath indoors. We had the traditional half board, and food was great and plenty. For the kids we’ve opted for child’s meals and that was an excellent choice. Staff went rolls and bolts to please us and make this a genuine Japanese experience

The outdoor area of the room was not that clean, with spiderwebs and such. Location is not great, but they provide shuttle to the station.

The open-air private baths are great for relaxing bath time and excellent view with mt. Yufu. The Japanese fine dinning cuisine, the facilities, and the service are all value the price of the accommodation fee.

We love the environment of the hotel and the view from our room. We enjoy the free 4 kinds of tea drinks provided by the hotel and they all are very good.

The foods provided by the hotel are good but the pace of serving the dinner was too fast and we finished our dinner within an hour and no time for us to enjoy it.

Private onsen is a highlight. They have public onsen, private onsen for family and individual onsen in each room. They also provide free shuttle to the train station

The check out time is 10. I wish they could adjust to 11 without extra fee

The room is spacious and clean. The private onsen in the room is very nice, you can also adjust the hot spring temperature which is very suitable for kids. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner and breakfast provided were good.

Abit hard to find and you need to check in by 6pm.
