This is an actual excellent stay. You get a lot of hotels rated 10/10 and still not meeting the excellent standards. We loved everything about our stay at Residence Bassac. We stayed in the duplex room which was gorgeous and super comfortable. The downstairs had a nice desk, sofa, and toilet. Upstairs was great with very comfortable bed and really nice high quality bedding with access to nice balcony. Huge thanks to the cleaning staff who were remarkable! We don’t know your names but we are very grateful for your care and attention during our stay. THANK YOU! Also, the restaurant and front desk staff were super helpful and friendly. Overall, we had a memorable stay and loved every second of it.

The rooms are gorgeous and very well appointed, surrounding a lovely courtyard garden. The restaurant/ lounge area is very nice. They also have a dining/lounge area on the riverside, perfect for watching the sunrise. Staff were all exceptionally nice and helpful. The robes and slippers felt luxurious. Everything was in good taste. The included breakfast was pretty good, particularly the Laotian noodle soup. Mineral water was provided.

The fruit selection for breakfast was surprisingly meagre (mango/watermelon) considering that one could see other fruit growing all around. And there was no fruit juice included. The mineral water provided came from Laos, which is great, but came in tiny plastic bottles, which seems like an awful lot of plastic. The shower did not drain properly, soaking up the bath mats and encouraging biting insects.

Fantastic location - had a wonderful river view from my room. The rooms were very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Efficient ac and also a fan. The restaurant was lovely and a good selection of food options and a wine list. Delicious breakfast! The staff were very welcoming and so helpful with arranging my trip to Wat Phu. Absolutely loved it!

Wow! What a perfect stay. I loved it at Residence Bassac. Recently refurbed the place glows with care and is spotless. I couldn’t decide at first on a double with river view or the two story with balcony and was very happy with the later. Super spacious with a great layout and furnishings. AC is strong and lots of great little touches including turn down service. The staff were very helpful and friendly, arranging a scooter, tuktuks and airport taxis. The restaurant has a beautiful open setting to the street and river. And best of all Vat Phou is about 20mins away. I’d gladly stay again, sad to go!

Oddly out of all the places I’ve stayed this trip in SE Asia, this room had a slight mosquito problem. I used a plug in repellant I brought with. Tuktuk driver raised price from hotel quote and then tried to charge even more by not giving back change. Motorbike helmets too small if you have a large mellow like mine. Reverse mirrors unusable on one. Give them a good look over before heading out for issues.

The property is excellent. It’s a very friendly place, and all team members are in the Residence to assist you if needed. They try to do their best always. The kindness of local people and the foreign Chef is highly appreciated. Bedrooms are comfortable, extremely clean and well-maintained; restaurant and rooms are decorated in nice way. The sala along the Mekong offers you the opportunity to enjoy the calm of the area and the relaxing view of the scenery. The food is very good also and gives you a taste of happiness. Well done!

Rooms were beautifully restored and really well appointed with tasteful fittings. Restaurant area was delightful and staff would also serve your food on the waterfront. Rooms were regularly cleaned to a high standard, including a turn down service and light clean in the evening. Breakfast was excellent with good choice. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly

The menu is overly ambitious in an area where ingredients are not plentiful/ available for European fare. It is blazing hot and after a day of touring to have a pool would be nice rather than holing up inside to cool down.

Very elegant place, quiet rooms and well organised reception, good food choice. Very helpful and dedicated staff. Easy access to the river and good starting point to visit the area.

Nothing I did not like but I would recommend including some food options on the menu suitable for vegans.

We absolutely loved this hotel, from the quiet village location to the helpful staff who helped us arrange trips etc. The breakfast was lovely and the dinners great.
