This property is surely one of the best in Vientiane. It combines classical elegance with cultural charm and contemporary functionality. The result is a truly wonderful hotel. The location places it within walking distance of numerous local restaurant and bars in addition to the fascinating Night Markets. The rooms are lovingly furnished, spacious and with very comfortable bedding. The staff are friendly, attentive and very professional. There is a fantastic sophisticated rooftop bar which is serviced by the lovely “Bo” who is both charming and a wizard with cocktails (thanks for looking after us Bo). I must comment on the breakfast. It is without doubt the best offering I have experience in a long time. Full credit to the staff and chefs. Just a well run and wonderfully presented property. Everything was wonderful.

The staff are super friendly. The location is very central, with lots of eating options around and close to the night market. The breakfast is superb, lots of choice and an extensive menu for dishes they will prepare for you, special mention for the croissants and juicy mango slices! The bar, on the 4th floor, has an outside terrace where you can watch the street, which is very relaxing.

The breakfast was excellent, with a generous selection of both local and international dishes. The spa service was relaxing and professionally delivered, adding a sense of calm to the overall experience. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and willing to help with any requests. The room was beautifully decorated, clean, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day out. The hotel's location is also very convenient, situated near several restaurants, shops, and the airport.

It was difficult to get to the hotel by car because of road repairs outside the entrance. I also tried the pasta at the hotel restaurant and found it underseasoned and lacking in flavor, which did not match the quality of the other meals offered.

📍Location: very central, close to night market and very safe walking at night time. Very close to the airport (7-9 minute drive depending on traffic) so overall the location suited my needs perfectly! 🛌 Room: excellent bed, well functioning air conditioning, super bathroom amenities and complimentary water much appreciated. I slept very well at night even given how central the location is. 🧖‍♀️Spa: I opted for a spa package 1 hour traditional Lao massage and 1 hour facial treatment and was so delighted with the experience. 🍽️ Breakfast: included in room rate, breakfast buffet had a variety of western and Asian options to suit all tastes and service was very efficient. I also had a negroni at their bar and it was probably the nicest negroni I’ve ever had. 🌟 Staff: The staff here are welcoming, friendly and attentive. It made all the difference.

We had booked the Salana Hotel from a Thursday to the following Saturday. We had asked if we could check in on Thursday morning as we had to leave the hotel on Friday evening because of our night trains from and to Bangkok. We arrived at the hotel shortly before 10am on Thursday, famished, and asked for breakfast, which we had paid for on Saturday but couldn't have because of our early departure at Friday evening. The receptionist didn't feel able to let us join the breakfast buffet, which was still open for half an hour. Instead, he offered us a packed lunch for Saturday. We moved into our room around eleven o‘clock. Two days later, the same man at reception was unable to order a taxi to the station.

A few steps from night market and many good restaurants. Lovely front office either ladies and boys, they take care of you and try to accommodate all your needs . A special thanks to the guest service Mr. Viengxai which dedicate his driving to the guests based on their needs also for long daily tour. Rooms are very clean and very high quality products at breakfast in the elegant restaurant on first floor. Very respectful to the environment I would higly raccomend also for female solo traveller as you will feel like home .

The restaurant- although very nice- didn't really serve any Lao food for dinner - it tried to hard to serve fancy French food - but when people come to Vientiane they would like to have some nice quality local food! Their breakfast was yummy with many made to order options to accompany their buffet. Their noodles were great! Our A/C unit was noisy sometimes - sometimes quiet and sometimes noisy. We used a sound machine to neutralise it so that it didn't affect us.

Salana is located in the centre - this is what we like about our hotels. It is on a lively street with many restaurants, close to the evening market and 1.4 km from the morning market, there are plenty of transport options around. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, everyone tried to please the guests, we had one or two issues to resolve but they were quickly solved. I must especially praise Mrs Mit, who helped me with some requests and was extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent and since we were leaving early, we were given boxes to take away with us. We travel often and stay in good hotels, but Salana offers one of the best breakfasts around. Room was large and comfortable, air con was running very well, shower was generous and it was enough towels to shower a few times a day (Laos is very hot this time of the year, 34C - 38C) We had scrubs and massages and were pleased with those too. The spa is managed very well. Overall we had a lovely experience and will come back next year.

Stayed four nights here and to be honest I could find no fault whatsoever about the hotel. I have travelled extensively over the years and have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world. This ranks up there with the best of them. All the staff speak perfect English and are extremely helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast was outstanding with so much choice and more importantly good quality. Breakfast was served between 6am and 10.30am which is extremely helpful if you are looking to catch an early flight or want to have a late breakfast. The room had everything you might need and was extremely clean. There is a beautifully furnished bar/lounge on the 4th floor. The hotel provided a car and driver for a day tour and my transfer to the airport. Ok it is not cheap by Laos standards but you get what you pay for and it does not get much better than this.

The breakfast was exceptional. The staff are very caring and attentive.

The driver was not waiting for me at the right place when I arrived at the train station, so I had to take a taxi instead. However, they offered me a free ride to the airport which I thought was a good way to recover the lost trust.
