Overall, it was a great one night stay. Vientiane is not a big city, so it’s convenient to get to and from either the airport or the train station. Pick up was convenient and property were very responsive in confirming through the private message function of Booking. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel location is good, near to the night market and there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops right outside. Hotel was quiet at night and the breakfast buffet was decent.

Although the room was very good, there were big gaps under both the balcony door and main door, which meant that mosquitoes could get in. Woken up twice to deal with mosquitoes that were biting. Simple sealing of the doors would solve the problem or at least some in room prevention. Hotels USD exchange rate also seemed a a bit high.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Given an upgrade to top floor one bedroom suite which was stunning. Massive bedroom with fantastic quality linen, flat screen TV in bedroom and lounge, air con in both, lovely sofa and furnishings in the lounge, fridge, safe, WiFi, kettle, tea/coffee and juices. Bathroom great with top quality toiletries and towels. Full size bath. Views over the river from balcony fantastic Breakfast on first floor veranda was superb, lovely helpful staff, great choice of Western and Lao/Thai food, good coffee. Great location overlooking the Mekong, night market 100 yards away, loads of great value bars and restaurants right outside. Felt totally safe and relaxed. Reception staff were brilliant. Private transfer to Airport 200k, about £7.00. A fantastic stay in a brilliant hotel. Vientiane very interesting for a few days.

This is a very nice hotel in a nice location. Great walking access to the river, boulevard, and the city center. Vientiane is a very pleasant, laid-back city, and the hotel very pleasant within that. Definitely recommended!

It can be a bit noisy, because of its central location, but that is to be expected. And it got very quiet after about 11pm, so not a big deal.

Highly recommend Lao Orchid hotel. Excellent value for money. We wanted a hotel with a bit of character, rather than a modern chain hotel and we got exactly that. The room was spacious and the bed really comfortable. Breakfast really exceeded our expectations with a wide choice. Location is great, just meters from the night market and restaurants. The staff were also really friendly and helpful.

The staff at the Lao Orchid Hotel is amazing! They are friendly and helpful. When my wife was ill they made an off-menu food item to help her feel better. They went above and beyond every time we had a request. The breakfast was incredible and the hotel was comfortable. Very close to the night market and restaurants. We will be back again!

My husband booked this hotel for my birthday at the end of our tour through Laos. We had a suite with a separate living area, huge bedroom, great bathroom (best shower we had in Laos) and a beautiful view. Very close to markets, restaurants and a sensational rooftop bar.

Clean and comfortable hotel in a great location close to lots of restaurants.

When we paid for our room they converted US dollars to Kip at quite an unfavourable rate. I should have insisted on paying in dollars but didn’t realise we had been overcharged until later.

A smart hotel in a lovely location with super and friendly staff. Breakfasts were a delight in a comfortable dining room overlooking the temple. There was a bustling night market just across the road.
