Great location, friendly staff. The room was huge, with large windows and very comfortable seating. The hotel is full of elegant touches such as art on the walls, wrought iron tables, furnishings and details. Breakfast is great, and served in a very nice setting. The bed was excellent and also very big. We would certainly stay here again. The main pedestrian street is about a minute away on foot, with the heart of the old town about 10 minutes away. There are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants close by. Another bonus is that the room was completely silent, with no street noise. Very pleasant!

The hotel is brilliantly placed between the old and new town areas of Kaunas and so a great base from which to explore the city. The room was large and well equipped with fridge, safe and all you could expect. The en-suite was great and the air conditioning worked a treat during a very hot few days. The breakfasts were excellent too with a great choice and the hotel staff were superb. One of the receptionists made a call for us to the local synagogue to arrange for us to visit and although we had the wrong number, she persisted with a variety of numbers till she got through. The same lady also gave us recommendations about local sites to visit. And the car parking at the hotel was great too. A fantastic few days in a special city with so much to see made even better by a wonderful hotel. Highly recommended.

this was my second visit here the first was in a king suite and i would say the standard double was equal large comfortable room and bathroom with a bath tub on the 4th floor with a city view and also very much enjoyed the breakfast with loads of choice very quiet throughout my 4 night stay, nice position in town and the no29 airport bus stop [1euro] tranfer from the airport, WIFI was also good , and a great little safe easy to use ,

Not saying the staff were unfriendly but lets just say overfriendly ,the TV had very little english channrls if that applys to you ? also the mini fridge in the rooms are useless as they turn off when you remove your key card plus they dont get very cold anyway,

Nothing but the best at this Best Western. Large room, comfy bed, superior breakfast, free parking, superb location. Biggest bathtub I've ever seen!!

If it had been hot weather, our room on the 4th floor might have been too hot because I didn't see an air conditioner. But the weather was fine. Also in summer months we find the duvets too hot but there isn't a light blanket in most European hotels and there was not one here either. The shower curtain arrangement was a bit strange and hard to use.

Everything. The location was perfect between the old town and new town, we couldn't have picked a better spot. We had room 415 a King Suite, it had the most incredible area that jutted out with glass panels all around and we had a gorgeous panoramic view over the terracotta rooftops of the old town, we caught some stunning sunsets and watched swifts dance in the sky. It was such a relaxing room and really made our trip. We liked the toilet being separate to the shower. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they helped me organize prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries in the room for my 40th birthday, and gave advice on everything we asked. We were incredibly impressed with their English too, we hadn't expected such brilliant language skills; their English is probably better than most English people haha.

The fridge/cooler in the room didn't really cool anything, which is the case at most hotels these days.

The staff were great, and the room was clean and spacious with good AC. The location was perfect, and parking was free. I can't fault the hotel itself, but the breakfast was awful some mornings.

Breakfast is so strange sometimes. Some days it's good, other days it's awful. I've noticed it's especially weird and bad when there's a table with a tablecloth and a "reserved" sign. Those days, there's dry spaghetti in the vegetable container, and some weird, dry macaroni in the porridge container. Who eats dry spaghetti or macaroni for breakfast? The bacon is steamed, please make it more crisp. They run out of other basic vegetables, too. Fix this please, steamed vegetables were great, macaronis not. Maybe you need to change the head cook? The hotel is excellent otherwise.

Heartfelt Thanks to the Best Western Santakos Hotel Team I traveled to Kaunas, Lithuania for medical reasons and initially planned to stay for just 10 days. However, due to unexpected changes in my health condition, I had to extend my stay multiple times, eventually remaining for a full month. Despite the hotel being very busy, the staff made each extension smooth and stress-free. They allowed me to stay in the same room throughout, which was incredibly helpful during a difficult time. Anytime I had a question or needed something—like a thermometer—they responded without hesitation. What truly stood out was how genuinely the staff cared about my well-being. They even called emergency services for me when I needed help. From the housekeepers and kitchen staff to the front desk and management, everyone was friendly, supportive, and kind. I truly felt like I became a part of the Best Western Santakos Hotel family. A sincere and warm thank you to every person working at this hotel—you made a very challenging time more bearable, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

I'm not sure if it was due to the location of my room or the number of guests, but the Wi-Fi service could have been faster – it was sometimes challenging to work online due to slow internet. However, those pauses gave me a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the hotel's amazing location. It's right in the center of Kaunas Old Town and near Laisvės alėja, surrounded by restaurants, shops, museums, and beautiful historic architecture, including castles.

Excellent location. Nice view. Kind staff. Breakfast had clearly marked national specialities, which made it convenient to taste and learn about local cuisine. Breakfast also included fried / baked eggs that were above average. Grapefruit juice offered with breakfast was above average. (It came from an electric dispenser, so I was not tempted at first, not expecting much. However, when I saw someone else pour a glass it looked good, so I tried it and was pleasantly surprised.) Finally, I was very happy to see that the breakfast buffet had an impeccably courteous sign admonishing guests to take only what they were confident they would eat. I support such kind, yet firm reminders and hope they are effective in reducing waste.

Coffee included with breakfast was of poor quality. Scrambled eggs at breakfast buffet were unusually unappealing, appearing both over-cooked and watery. Despite high summer season (August), tomatoes were hard and flavorless. Above all else, however, the coffee at breakfast scandalously bad, the lowest low-point of an otherwise nice breakfast at a solid hotel.

Peaceful,safe accommodation in the city area. King suite was large and well equipped. Very good breakfast and restaurant area stylish with also outdoor tables. Ladies at reception were friendly.

For a long-distance traveller with lot of stuff in car it is very important to get a safe parking place. Hotel could start to reserve parking place in advance instead of “first-in” policy. Luckily we got our car in safe inner yard but I would like to be sure about it already when I am making reservation. Some hotels are able to organize it, so why not in Santakos too? Of course there can be situations that parking area gets full and hotel cannot do anything about it. But at least the information could then be present during reservation process and client candidate has possibility to make decision considering the fact. I don’t like wall-to-wall carpeting because it easily gathers smells and is hard to keep hygienic. However our room did not smell bad.

The hotel was in a ideal location in between the new and Old Town. I was able to check in early. However, my room number 601 was two flights up by stairs because the elevator only goes to the 400 room level. The room itself was beautifully appointed and cozy. Very comfortable overall. The staff spoke perfect English and were very welcoming. They provided luggage storage which was convenient. The price point was very good. The hotel is easily reachable by several buses leaving the train and bus stations.

There was a mechanical sound that made a noise once a minute. Putting on the air conditioner lessened the disturbance The breakfast room was crowded with a tour group. The hot dish selections were not particularly appealing. But there was enough to choose from to have a satisfying breakfast.
