Let’s just say I had a wonderful stay at D’eastern Staff at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. I love it when I received warm welcome by the staff. i enjoyed the decorations and the ambiance of thus hotel. Giving that classic vibe. Room was exceptional. Clean, comfortable and well equipped with all the necessities. Read the review from previous guests that the wifi was superb; guess I have to agree with that. Needed the wifi to do a bit of work and I am thankful for providing us with reliable connectivity. Shower was perfect. Our family enjoyed the hot water so much as we arrived a bit late. Don’t judge the air-conditioner by the look of it. It may looks old but it is working fine. It was cold. Really. Thank you for everything

I think the room need a bit of repainting and touch up

1. The family room is super spacious and comfortable. 2. Eventhough the location is by the main road, they provide private paking at the back of the hotel. 3. The lift got the retro vibe, unique! 4. They provide sufficient towels and toiletries, easy for people travelling for work like me, less stuffs to bring. 5. They allowed me for an early check-in (2:30PM), I get to rest a bit before heading out for work. 6. Staffs are friendly both day and night shift.

1. I woke up around 3AM, took me about 2 hours to sleep back because it was located by the main road, sometimes lorry passed by, vehicles' alarm can be heard etc. Might not be a good experience for a light sleeper. (Improve better room soundproofing) 2. The sound from inside the room can somewhat be heard from outside, almost until the lift area. (Same as above)

The room looks even better than in the pictures—spacious and perfect for two people. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was large with a walk-in shower, excellent water pressure, and consistently hot water. The AC worked well. The wardrobe was convenient for longer stays, and the small desk was ideal for remote work. Wi-Fi was strong, with no issues during uploads or Zoom calls. The front desk staff was very friendly. Note: a 50MYR cash security deposit is required at check-in. Working elevator in the building. The location is excellent, with a 7/11 just 3 minutes away and the old town within walking distance. The area felt very safe.

The sheets were clean and freshly washed but had stains that couldn’t be removed—it might be time to replace them, as this can make guests uncomfortable. The curtains could also use a thorough wash.

The hotel is well located and within easy walking distance to the old town, the night market, convenience store and laundromat. The room itself was spacious and clean. The staff at the hotel are exceptional - we were always greeted with a smile and they were able to fulfill all our requests.

There was barely any closet space for our longer stay. A mini fridge and a TV with streaming services would make the stay more comfortable. The bathroom could do with a refresh.

This is our repeated stay. This time we drove as we found there was sufficient parking at the back of the premises. this is a good for value hotel if you are not looking for spacious glitzy lobby, coffee houses, swimming pool but just a simple humble spacious room and bathroom. The lone staff on duty, be it Devi, Lan or Anjali are ever so helpful and smiling all the time, Thumbs up for them. we have over looked this hotel for many previous visits as it is an old premise but the refurbishment, the bright lighting, spaciousness (cf to new hotels) and the location (town is just across the road) more than make up for it,

Could have a bigger table/chairs for us to put things. some of the wooden furniture panelling can be repaired. more bath shower and shampoo to be provided.

Clean, good heating with the shower, and helpful staff. Wifi connection was also good, no issues. Location was also great - close to the city centre, and easy enough to book Grab services if we needed to travel further out. Same for travelling to and from the airport.

Too bad there isn’t a mini-fridge to store some of the food we bought, like fruits or water bottles. So visitors should take note when booking. There were also a few ants at the bathroom sink, but not a huge problem.

Room: is a big place, if come with children, can bring toto, still can sleep 2-3 children on the floor. location: nearby foodie place, still can walk to concubine lane, or any attraction because it is in the middle of gerbang malam and concubine lane parking: provide parking at the back of the hotel. toilet: big enough and have hair dryer , towels, soap(in tube) air conditioning: still ok, just cold as normal, even though it is a big room. There's no refrigerator. but its ok for me.

because it's on the main road, so there's noise with cars moving, but if you're tired enough walking around, no worries.

I recently stayed at this hotel where the staff were really attentive to my needs. I asked for an extra towel, and they were quick to respond and immediately send it to my room. They also paid attention to my request for two single bed, also an iron board in the room. I got the requested two single bed room and although they couldn't provide me iron board in the room, they gave me a room that was nearest to the iron board station, which I appreciated. Maybe because I stay during weekdays but the surrounding area of the hotel was calm and peaceful, adding to the overall relaxing experience. The service was fantastic, and I felt valued as a guest. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its peaceful surrounding, excellent customer service and provided parking area for the guest 💯

the lift- it was making a sound but working well, soo its not a big deal :)

No fridge in the room neither at the receptionist counter. Maybe the management could consider to made available a freezer for a breastfeed mom to store baby milk overnight

Older style almost art deco hotel with large rooms and very pleasant staff. Furnishings a little worn and lots of timber panelling but spotlessly clean and very comfortable, in a great location for a very reasonable price. Walking distance to the historic center of Ipoh (which currently looks pretty sad, lots of closed and run down buildings). A great base for a night or two in Ipoh, which was plenty enough time to see the sights and get a feel for the place.

There was nothing at all I did not like, very comfortable stay. The smallest issue is when you leave the room you remove the key card from the power slot which turns off the A C unit, so you return to a very warm room which takes a while to cool down again. And Ipoh was extremely warm.
