Grayhouse Soho was perfect from every point of view.A 15 minute walk to the beautiful train station of ipoh. A 10 minute walk to Parade Mall. Surrounded by excellent outdoor Hawker centres offering good variety and value meals, I couldn't fault this place. My simple and small Deluxe single room a masterpiece of simple practicality. Every design aspect making use of small space with shelving and a chair as well as single bed with comfy mattress and pillows,didn't feel crowded. And the bathroom was very spacious. In addition the offering of free coffee eggs and toast and even Kaya for breakfast made for an economical stay. For a solo traveller it was perfect.

Nothing about this hotel to dislike.

Good location, walkable distance to the old town and close to bus stops for the Mirror Lake (Tasik Cermin) and cave temple (Kek Look Tong). Communication via Whatsapp was good before arrival and during stay. Building seemed recently renovated and was pretty clean throughout. There was a basic kitchen area available with free breakfast of toast and eggs provided for those who wanted it in the morning.

The private bathroom had quite a strong smell - not sure whether it might be connected to other bathrooms in the property as it smelled even when we hadn't used it. Room was very small, with 2 people and 2 backpacks there wasn't any room left to move around.

Great value for money, in a good location. A lot of reviews mention road noise but this was not an issue for us at all, in fact it was one of the quieter places we’ve stayed in Malaysia. Staff were friendly, room was comfortable and clean on arrival. Great place for us to put our heads down after exploring.

Not a complaint but just so others are aware, the room is small but again, great value. Only other minor thing is despite the lack of road noise, the drain from upstairs was quite noisy in the bathroom, however this was not frequent and didn’t keep us up.

Price is fine for what you get. I extended for one more night and had to change rooms, so I was able to see two different rooms. They were both clean. Both showers had good pressure and warm water, both rooms had working airconditioning as well. I had no trouble sleeping, but I live in a city and am used to normal street noise. The location is right in the middle of the city, I walked everywhere.

My first room had something food-like with bugs on it in a corner. Some stuff does get missed, I guess. I have bug spray with me, so I took care of it. The pillows in the second room smelled a bit old/dusty.

Clean room, perfect for solo traveller. I stayed in a single bed room (toilet attached). Dustbin, lamp, ,hair dryer,clean toilet, shampoo,hand wash,body wash provided. Aircond and water heater working and most important comfortable bed. The pantry was nice where tenant could help themselves for drinks. They also provided eggs, bread, soy sauce, white paper - complete with cutleries. There was also a printer at the pantry and tenant could also buy other simple essentials there.

The small gesture of simple breakfast, Malaysian style. Very homey, and a personal touch. Room is adequately sized for 1pax, shower head is strong, air cond is cool. Extra pillows were total bonus too. Centralised enough to walk to quite a number of famous eateries, including next door UTC Ipoh cum wet market, 12 mins walk to ipoh parade.

Noticed the external space of the guesthouse could do a lil more dust up. The decorations on the main entrance, the staircase walkway were dusty and quite seasoned. Jst some effort on the external space would be great. There is also some stench build up in the toilet after 2nd day, but not too bad that is bothering. The room is getting seasoned too, with bed frame chipped and paints were coming off. If you're driving, it's a lil tough to catch a parking in the morning/noon.

Our stay was great. The location is 10 min walking distance from anything you might want to do or need. The bed was comfortable, water was hot and good pressure. The self serve breakfast was a great spread. We had the queen room with balcony and had the roof terrace mostly to ourselves and there was a kettle and sink up there which was really nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The space in the room is small, but it’s a great value.

Really comfortable and clean room. Had a private shower and sink inside of the room as well which was a surprise. The toilet is outside of the room but it is a locked toilet only our room could enter, so still like a private toilet in that sense which is nice. Also good free breakfast with toast and eggs

Smooth self check-in. The room was clean and with good air conditioning. We appreciated the small self-breakfast that was included. However, despite being on the top floor, there is a lot of noise from the street (mainly cars/motorbikes). They sell earplugs for a reason (and yes, we bought it).

The breakfast was nice. The place provides a self-service breakfast that I can go to and just make myself a breakfast. That was helpful for me. And all of the facilities are prepared, clothes iron, clean water for drinking, microwave, water heater, elevator was functioning well and fast, and the entrance door was secure. Made me feel safe when entering the facility at night. The staff was very nice too when I asked if I could use the microwave in the middle of the night. Would stay here again :)

The toilet was clean and everything was working well. But it had a slight off smell. It's not that bad but just sharing my experience. I'm not sure where the smell was from, but again the toilet was very clean. Also, the parking might be a bit difficult in the day, but at night the road is pretty much empty.
