It was clean and staff were friendly

If you book here you better be aware that you ARE NOT booking a hotel, you are booking AN APARTMENT in an apartment block , it DOES NOT have the facilities of a hotel, NO BREAKFAST ROOM, in fact NONE of the trappings of a HOTEL having said that if you are happy with an apartment I would strongly recommend this accommodation, very friendly staff, rooms spotless, very central etc. Booking.com should NOT be advertising this premises as a hotel because it is NOT one .

The only small downside was the fact that there was a bathtub and the soap was mounted inside the shower so there was no way I could use the soap in the bathtub which I think lacked common sense. Even though we were staying there for two nights they were only two capsules for coffee. I believe for this price and five star hotel. There should be enough coffee for every single person that stays there for the entire day.

The location was amazing. The staff were friendly and responsive. I was greeted each time i left and arrived, making me feel valued. There was the Cafe on the ground level and restaurant at the top and both were wonderful. The cleaning services were exceptional. And the price was perfect.

The only complaint i would have is that the elevators were hit or miss when scanning the card and selecting the floor. I saw multiple guests have the same problem, as well as some staff, so I know it wasn't just me.

We stayed in a very spacious one bedroom apartment, well appointed and comfortable. There was also a small second room with a desk and a single couch. Very clean, spacious kitchen should you wish to prepare meals: stovetop, microwave, coffee pod machine (2 complimentary pods, can purchase more if you wish), full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Sufficient crockery, cookware and glassware. Also tucked away in a cupboard is a washer/dryer and a small amount of washing powder is provided. One of the biggest benefits when traveling! It has quick cycles and washes and dries well (drying cycle may need up to 1h30m, depending on what you’re drying). Huge bathroom with tub and the usual amenties are provided. In the bedroom you will find all the usual amenities. Bed is comfortable, perhaps a tad on the firm side. We didn’t expect regular housekeeping of the room (stated as twice weekly) however we found our room was serviced with a neat tidy up and clean towels every day - maybe we were lucky! Internet connection in-room is fine. Smart TV in both the separate living area and bedroom; we were able to stream directly from our mobile handset and watch movies/shows from our streaming account (eg Netflix). HUGE swimming pool on Level 6 and there’s also a rooftop pool on level 56 (called Level 99, don't go looking for the 99th floor haha) with a very spectacular view of the Petronas Towers. Grab your pool towels from reception. There is also a restaurant on the top floor however this can get very busy so it’s advisable to book. Downstairs in the foyer is a self-service Starbucks station or if you wish a sweet coffee shop is right next door, Excellent location with a convenience store 500m away or take a short walk to Avenue K mall where you'll find Village Grocer (full supermarket) as well as a detached shop selling wines and beers (expect to pay a LOT for wine!. Would absolutely stay here again!

A place for a quiet drink that doesn't close so early would be great.

Great location, generous room sizes, wonderful swimming pools and particularly the roof top and sixth floor restaurants, where the staff were truly exceptional. The views at the top floor are Kodak moments.

No towels at the swimming pools. You had to take your room towel, which would be wet by the time you took a shower back in your room. The breakfast was nowhere near as good as the other Ascotts that I've stayed in.

Our stay was wonderful. Check-in went smoothly, we had a comfortable apartment on the 23rd floor with incredible view of Twin Towers. We didn't have breakfast. The staff was very nice and helpful. The elevators worked very efficiently. The pool on the top floor has a great view and the pool on the 6th floor is very nice to swim and relax. Fantastic location right next to the Twin Towers, very close to the KLCC metro station, easy access to all interesting places in KL.

More attention should be paid to cleaning, our fridge was not very clean so were the countertops.

Location is excellent. The rooms are lovely, clean and spacious and include everything you need. Having the option of two pools was fun. We ate at the rooftop restaurant, the lower poolside restaurant, the little cafe near the entrance and also lunch in the dining room. All meals were excellent! The staff were all super friendly and helpful.

The only thing for us was the tv. We would have liked to have watched the Olympics during our stay but the tv channels were very limited and didn't include the games coverage.

Ascott Star exceed mine and my partner's expectations. We arrived at the hotel around 11am, expecting our room to not be ready yet, which was fine with us since it was early. However, they had a room ready for us and within half an hour after checking in, we got our room. It was spacious for 2 people and we loved that it had a washing/drying machine for laundry, which we immediately used. They also provided us with the detergent, which was awesome! The room also had a kitchen and the amenities with it (eg. cups, dishes, forks, etc.). The pool is a good size and wasn't cold but cool which felt great against the humid weather. The view is also awesome! You get a great view of the Twin Towers. Front desk staff were extremely helpful. We asked how to get to the mall and was given 2 options: a) above ground on the streets or b) underground to avoid the heat. My partner and I opted for option b. The woman gave us great directions and we managed to find the mall easily. It was about a 10 minute walk, not too far and we avoided the humid weather. Later on at night, we went back up on the roof top to see the Twin Towers again. Please note, there will be a line up of people there taking photos.

Everything! The welcoming staff, the facilities, the location, we had the Petronas Towers view from our room - they are just across the road from the hotel.

Fantastic property - Centrally located and 5 mins away from Surya KLCC. Staff - one of the best you could ask for We stayed at the one bed Premier as a family of 5 (2 adult, 2 kids aged 8&6 along with an infant). The size of the apt was perfect. Swimming pool at the terrace top is amazing given a sneak peak of the KL skyline.

It's a brand new property so likelihood of not liking angything is low.
