Almost everything, room, pool, ambience.

The breakfast was not up to expected standard. The only fruit available was watermelon. There was no yogurt or muesli, although on the second day we asked for yogurt and it was brought to the table. The fried eggs were stone cold. The jam and marmalade jars were empty and not replenished and on asking they only had marmalade as the jam was finished. Bread was simply cheap sliced white or brown, no quality bread. Considering the clientele were predominantly European, this is not really good enough.

Amazing Building, old part of the city, right in the middle of all those towers. Views from the pool and swimming just unbelievable. Step out and you have access to 50 roadside restaurants, but so close to those amazing towers. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

Reception staff amazing, but all a bit under managed. Food services not up to scratch, and when it rains no one has a mop! I just wanted to step in and get things sorted! But I loved this place!

The room was spacious. The pool has a great view and we got amazing photos since you have a great view on the menara specially at night! Breakfast was plentiful and had a solid variety.

The only downside for the pool is that everybody should get out of it once it hits 19hrs. So you kind of miss the opportunity for great night photography in the pool.

Good location. Nice rooms, clean and spacious, and loved the little Nespresso machine. Good quality breakfast. Staff very helpful on all requests and even surprised my dad with a birthday gesture. Appreciate it.

Beautiful space with nice touches that you often miss in developing countries, like hand towels and body lotion. Plenty of space to unpack our luggage and spread out our stuff. The location was excellent, right next to The Row, with tons of restaurants and coffee shops. Lovely place!

The breakfast wasn't great. Also, the pool is really beautiful, but there was a guy smoking right next to the pool, so that ruined it for us. I know smoking at a pool is common in Southeast Asia, but I find it disgusting and infuriating. I'm there for fitness reasons, so of course I don't want to breathe someone's gross cigarette smoke.

Good-sized room and very comfortable. All the staff were very helpful. The rooftop swimming pool is large - great for an early morning swim with a view of the cityscape. Easy walk from the nearest monorail station and a good collection of eating places around the hotel. Getting to the shopping centre, however, was a bit dicey.

It would be good to have a kettle in the room rather than a coffee machine - not possible to make a good cup of tea. One of the hotel rooms where it's just about impossible to switch off every light (never worked out how to swith off the glow around the mirror).

The location is great with quick access to the two stations, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping centre. The rooftop pool and bar is also a great place to hang out and relax if needed.

The room setup is weird, with the sink being placed right next to the bed, rather than inside the bathroom. There's a big empty space in the bathroom where the sink should be. The buffet breakfast is not great. It's very basic with small selection, food was average especially when compared to the tasy food pretty much anywhere else in KL. There's a 200MYR per day deposit required - which feels excessive.

A well-maintained, clean hotel with friendly staff. The rooftop pool offers a phenomenal view and a cozy bar perfect for heartfelt conversations. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the most charming parallel street, lined with tasteful little restaurants.

Avoid the pre-paid dinner option—it’s not worth it. The food consists of cheap, reheated ingredients that could ruin your impression of Malaysian cuisine. Instead, treat yourself to the nearby restaurants—they are absolutely worth it!

Very good hotel with excellent staff and good sized rooms and very clean. Bokul in the restaurant was especially helpful as he introduced us to tea tehtarik as well Motiram who was also very helpful indeed. All of the staff are a credit to this hotel.

When we arrived we were told the pool was out for service for the whole duration of our stay and had to take a free taxi to a sister hotel to use the pool. The whole reason for choosing stripes was the infinity pool but didn’t get to experience it.

Absolutely beautiful Hotel, beautiful and very classy rooms with nice attention to detail and everything works the way its supposed to. Windows are completely soundproof. The only thing you can hear are the doors from other rooms and sometimes a laughter or two ... but I have yet to find a hotel where you hear absolutely nothing. Nice and very thick carpets on the floors outside the rooms. The bed has something I have actually never seen in the tropics: something substantial to cover yourself while sleeping and not just a thin sheet that has you turning the AC on and off because you're either too cold while you sleep or too hot. Bed is extremely comfy, too. Really nice bathroom with a marble sitting bench inside the large shower that features a hand held shower head and a rain big round rain shower. Room is 10/10 in my opinion. Breakfast was very nice. Staff really friendly. I ordered an additional complimentary bottle of purified water and it took less than 5 minutes to them bringing me 4 bottles which when empty are replaced every day or at any time if you ask.

The only little thing that I would have to say slightly negative is about the windows. If you're looking for a hotel with a view from your room...then this is not the place for you. Even though it is almost right next to KL Tower, you'd have to be a contortions to see it around the bricks and non-moveable storm blinds. On the other side, it didn't make my room very much darker and it really keeps the heat out. Also the windows do not open, at all. The pool wasn't very inviting to me, but that is personal taste (I found it to be a bit too cold for comfort) and they close it at 7 pm, when it wasn't even dark.
