Room very comfortable with an amazing ocean view. Very close to the airport. Reception very nice and friendly.

The dining service should be retrained on hospitality: I had an impression they had no idea how to behave around the customer. I had an early breakfast at 6h30, waited 30min just to get eggs and the dish arrived cold. They were not busy and seemed disorganised. Sometimes they would come take my plate without even asking if I finished... its just basics of being polite.

The room is luminous and clean. Your amenities are good as well, especially the chocolate ganache nut balls which were remarkable.

Once the booking is done, the hotel should contact the guests to arrange transportation, via WhatsApp message for example like other hotels in Malé do. Not the other way around. Instead I tried to reach the hotel some 10 times via different phone numbers provided before reaching finally hotel staff. I was also told staff is on break so to call back myself... at $380/night, some 3 or 4 times more than market price for a hotel night, I find this answer extremely irritating. Same with hotel transportation: other hotels such as Joali etc have private cars... Barcelo is still with vans, like other, cheaper hotels... Windows in the lobby are not cleaned and neat it does not give a good first impression. Lastly, I am not too keen on receiving cards by waiters to judge hotel and leave comment or "if you like my service, my name is...". It's a little cheap and opportunist / fishing for appraisals.

Too noisy in the room, can hear everything from the coridor and above. Service is lacking, and not up to 5*.
