We chose the Somerset Hotel based on good reviews from prior Japanese visitors and we found the hotel to be a very good choice of stay indeed. The location is excellent, the rooms are specious and the food was tasty. Bibek and other staff from the hotel promptly picked us up from the Male International airport, and coordinated well with the resort facility and the transport service to ensure we did not have to wait long at the airport. We are very satisfied and would like to recommend the hotel.

Nothing negative about our stay in the hotel.

The hotel staff was very warm and helpful. Unais from the front desk was especially welcoming and often took the initiative to converse with us and to offer valuable suggestions. We also liked that there was room service. Many boutique hotels or smaller hotels do not provide room service anymore. It was a convenience we really appreciated after an exhausting day of snorkelling. Bonus - food was tasty and reasonably priced!

Breakfast spread was smaller than we are used to, but we think it's fair considering the smaller number of guests for a small hotel. Less food wastage, which is great.

This hotel is in a central position, the staff were exceptional. We were picked up promptly and helped with our luggage. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Complimentary quality coffee and tea. The breakfast was delicious, a mix of local Maldivian breakfast and continental options, along with hot dishes.

There was some water damage on some walls, however did not detract from using the facilities and how comfortable the room are.

No power backup. Unfortunately when we arrived, whole Male experience power shortage. Tooks 5 hours for the Maldive Electricity company to restore the power to our hotel and probably the whole Male. Hotel is recommended to have at least emergency light if no power backup available. However, special thanks to hotel staff who willing to carry important luggage to our room in upper floor by using staircase.

Transfer from the airport was great. It's not easy that easy to get to Male from the airport which is right next door, hence the hotel transfer is vital. All the staff were very friendly and attentive and the room was a very good size, clean and quiet.

I had some internal flights. I requested the hotel for transfers to the airport which they did from the hotel to the aiport. However, there was no trasfer when I got back and I had to look around for a taxi to take me to Male - that's easier said than done! If anyone intends to do this, I'd strongly recommend getting the hotel to arrange this before hand. The airport is right next door to Male, but getting a taxi is not straightforward around here!

Great hotel located very close to centre, museum. Very clean, staff was great, friendly and willing to help with all our requirements( transfers, early check in...etc) The food was amazing. We had half board and really enjoyed the breakfast ( large variety of local and continental food), and the dinner was amazing , well cooked and served. I highly recommend this hotel if you stop in Male.

No pool option. Not really a view from our window...more building.

Great choice for food and quieter night away from traffic and good airport transfer. We were greeted after clearing customs (very quick) and collecting bags and shared with one other traveller. Room was quiet and dark for sleeping and a nice breakfast and dinner in the restaurant attached. The staff are so friendly and the whole hotel was clean.

The bed was as expected for this part of the world. Not the most comfortable but good enough for two nights to recover from a long day traveling and jet lag.

This is a fantastic hotel, breakfast is buffet included with room fee, moreover, they allow another 4 stuff for you to order from the menu I ordered bake bean, sausages, omelet, sunny side and ate to the fullest heavy big breakfast in such away that lunch can be avoided. Dinner is also sumptuous , rooms are a bit smaller but you have all the amenities. overall 100% for above

Room no 204 entrance door a bit pain in the ass. dificult to open and with frustrations I bang the door, pl remove the entrance lock. TV most of the time no signals. fixed once now again no signal so that i cannot update current news.

A smart hotel in the centre of Male - this was used as an Overnight before travelling on to the islands. The hotel pick up and drop off was 1st class. The staff are warm friendly and very helpful. The room was a good size with everything needed for the weary traveller. A good breakfast awaits in the morning.

Only thing you could argue about is the location - located down a side street. This did not hinder us in anyway due to the helpful staff taking care of everything.

Clean and modern hotel. Great bathroom, shower and facilities. The place was quiet and had a generally calming atmosphere. Airport pickup was a breeze. Staff were very helpful and kind at all times throughout our stay. They gave us a 'welcome drink' of lemon tea when we arrived (so good after a long day of travel). I highly recommend the Belle Amie Bistro next door - excellent breakfast and dinner there! Good location in Male City. Plenty of shopping around if that is your thing. I would stay here again!
