The staff was very kind, helpful, and attentive. Clean rooms. Dining area was great. Hotel transportation to and from airport was quick, easy, and amazing! Very accommodating

I am not used to the call to prayers and with so many mosques (two directly next to the hotel) it was quite loud. Especially because the mosque now have loudspeakers and almost sound like they are competing. This is something the hotel doesn’t have control over as it happens all over the Male and many other Maldivian islands.

This place was perfect. We needed one night stay in Male before we left the Maldives. So coming from a very nice resort to this place felt like it would not be great. The opposite was true. When we landed in Male via our seaplane, there were representative of the hotel waiting for us in air conditioned van. After a short drive we got there and were greeted by the host with a delicious Mango drink. The room was decorated for my birthday which was lovely. We had dinner at the restaurant on the top of the hotel and honestly had one of the best meals of our lives for $48! The server was lovely and I am sorry that I do not remember his name. He was from Sri Lanka and was a wonderful waiter. The following morning, even though we had an early flight, the staff opened the breakfast for us 30 min ahead of their regular time. We had another smooth transfer to the airport. It was lovely. The shower, the bed, the food, the staff... all wonderful. There was also a little balcony which was great as we were still trying to dry our wet clothes from snorkeling. Another positive was that we had ocean view so we could see the planes and boats come and go which was all very fun. We had a nice sunrise but not a sunset.

Just an FYI, and not a negative by any means. Male and Maldives are a Muslim location. The hotel is in the middle of two gorgeous mosques. If you are familiar with international travel, the call to prayer is something you will hear 5 times a day if you are close to a mosque. We could hear that and while my husband and I loved this, it may be a bit loud. Having said that, Male is so small that I am sure no matter where you are, you will hear the sound of the call to prayer. We absolutely loved it.

My stay at Samann Grand in Malé City was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality and stunning ocean views created an unforgettable experience. The hotel’s modern design, infused with Maldivian charm, offered a perfect balance of comfort and luxury. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, with special thanks to Adnan, whose outstanding service truly stood out. His friendly demeanor, prompt assistance, and thoughtful recommendations for local activities made our stay exceptional. The rooftop restaurant served delicious meals, with fresh seafood being a highlight. The hotel’s prime location in Malé City is ideal, close to vibrant local markets and cultural sites, yet it feels like a tranquil oasis. I wholeheartedly recommend Samann Grand to anyone visiting Malé. Adnan and the team made this trip truly special, and I look forward to returning!

This is a really nice hotel that exceeded my expecations. It's new, clean, and in a great Male downtown location. The staff are beyond nice and accomadating. They genuinely want you to have a postive impression of the hotel and Male itself. They have a free hotel-airport transfer which seems to be standard for Male hotels. Communication before arrival was prompt and helpful. I didn't eat at the restaurant but it's supposed to be one of the best in Male. I recommend this hotel if you're staying in Male. It's beyond the control of the hotel but Male is loaded with mosques. If you stay in Male, you will be woken up by the call to prayer. Again, not the hotels fault, but alcohol is illegal in Maldives except at resorts. There is no alcohol in Male except at HIH hotel by airport. Male itself is very busy with few tourist attractions. It is the most densely populated capital city in the world.

The hotel is well located to access the artificial beach, shops, fish market etc and easy to get to the airport. The room was clean and comfortable and good TV. The on site restaurant and roof garden were excellent and well priced. They even rustled me up a lovely packed breakfast which they hand delivered bang on the time specified for my early flight. Balajin who checked me in was particularly helpful and professional, and got me a cold drink and towel to freshen up on arrival. As a solo female traveller, I felt very comfortable and well looked after at Samann Grand.

Clean and Comfortable room. Breakfast was great with multiple varieties and the seating area was nice. Airport is very close, and the hotel arranged pickup. The staff is very nice and helpful. They answer all inquiries. Once we arrived, they suggested spending half a day in a nice resort for a cheap price and they helped us to arrange the booking through the internet. The boats station is near the hotel.

The hotel and room are a bit small but was not a problem for us at all. The Hotel Building had 11 small stories with 4 rooms per each floor, I guess. Ground floor is reception with nice seating area. Floor 10 is the breakfast area and floor 11 is a terrace. There is an elevator. The place is nice.

The staff was great and incredibly polite. . Balaji was great help and super nice. The hotel held our luggage while we grew for a week to a resort. The location is great, close to everything . Our room faced a beautiful mosque and you could see the water. Located in a quiet street but walking distance to fish market and central shopping. Dinner has an excellent menu. Breakfast included. The shuttle service was excellent to and from the airport and the hotel arranged with resort when to drop us and pick us up. Great location and service!

Everything was great.

We booked this hotel for one night in anticipation of our next resort transfer. The staff were super prompt with picking us up and was easy to find, they then liaised with the resort to identify when our transfers would take place and advised us of when they would have a car ready to take us to the airport, finally, as the resort gave us a last minute response on transfer times which was very early in the morning, they organised for a take away breakfast for us which they had absolutely no obligation to do. Thanks again to the amazing staff!

10000% recommend! The staff were great from organising us complimentary transfers from the airport and back which was very useful and we felt very well looked after. Also prior to our check in we stored our luggage there for a day and they were happy with doing that, also they allowed us to have complimentary late check out and this was super convenient for our evening flight. The room was very clean and tidy with modern light switches. Toilet was also very clean and they were both cleaned daily. The location was also very good as it was easy accessibility to food places/ supermarkets and touristic activities.

There isn’t anything that I would say that I did not like.

Generally friendly and helpful staff, only a bit dissapointed that the hotel only has 1 (one) agent for water activities when we wanted to book and could only confirm that they are not able to accomodate to our booking on the morning my friends and i were supposed to go although the weather was OK. The hotel staff had no other contacts either and we ended up walking in the city and luckily we found a sports equipment shop who was helpful enough to hook us up with an agent in Hulhumale for the water activities we were looking forward to

Some food served at breakfast was not properly covered and after sometime under the aircond, the cakes and breads for example, became dry and hardened.
