Meeru Island resort is definitely the best hotel we ever stayed in. It was our first time on Maldives and we experienced it as a little heaven. The resort is located at about 45-60 min on the speedboat from the Male international airport. The staff met us at the airport and we were welcomed with water. Then at the reception we had an amazing welcome from the staff, the check in was automatically made while we enjoyed their welcome cold tea, then on a buggy you can get directly to the bungalow, the suitcases were brought separately from the staff. The bungalow was very cozy decorate in a tropical atmosphere, very clean - they cleaned it twice daily. On the porch we could enjoy the ocean under the umbrella or you could move the other two sun beds into the sun. The water entrance was so calm and beautiful, the water very transparent and a lot of fish, even some small sharks could be seen, but they are not at all aggressive. It was interesting to enjoy the shower outside, there was also a jacuzzi, though we did not use it. On this island there is only one resort and we can really enjoy an intimate atmosphere. There are 2 big restaurants and 4 smaller ones a la carte available with reservation. But for the all inclusive packages everything was included, all restaurants - the food is very tasty and varied - each day different cuisine at the big restaurants, approximatively all drinks - including a selection of cocktails, juices, spirits, wines and also the drinks from the mini bar inside the bungalow which were daily added, also the package includes daily snorkeling to the local reef on a separate boat - you only have to rent the equipment if you do not have your own - but we went also directly in front of our beach - there were also a lot of smaller fishes and young corals, on another part of the beach we also could admire some manta rays. The staff is very friendly and professional and really trying to make your stay unforgettable.

We really liked Meeru Maldives Resort Island. It was our second island in the North Atoll. After the small Summer Island, we went to the “big” island of Meeru. We had 6 wonderful days here (January 20-26, 2024). We liked everything about Meeru Island. - the friendly welcome with Maldivian drums - the friendly staff at reception - the organization of the activities - the friendly staff in the restaurant - the perfect room services - the white beaches, swimming, and snorkeling - the lush vegetation, the Meeru Garden: growing your own fruit and vegetables - Breakfast, lunch, and dinner: varied, tasty, and fresh (show cooking) We particularly liked the accommodation. The beach villa with whirlpool (jacuzzi) was awesome: large room, large and comfortable bed, sitting area and a large terrace. The “open-air bathroom” in the garden was fantastic: everything open, everything free. High walls provide privacy. Mega. The room corresponded exactly to the description and the pictures on Booking.com (except for the sea view, which only a few villas (around 6-8 out of 60) have. Our beach villa was about 100 m from the beach.)

Clean, organized, paying attention to details, very helpful and friendly staff, food is very good with a lot of options.

the extra costs, I mean the price you see on booking is going to be different when adding the boat shuttles, drinks and other fees as well, it gets expensive. Also, I was not happy to hear that drones are not allowed, I'm a professional photographer and I would've loved to capture some nature beauty there, but unfortunately it was not allowed at all!

What an amazing experience! Jacuzzi Water Villa was great, the level of attention to details is something I have never experienced in other hotels. From spotlights to observe marine life at night to jars of water to clean your feet at each room entrance, everything was carefully thought. The view, bed, porch, shower, jacuzzi were all amazing. Food was delicious with a LOT of different options. Lunch was provided before check-in and after check-out which was pretty generous. A hot shower is provided after check-out if you want to enjoy the sea/pool before going back to the airport. Staff is extremelly kind and helpful, always with a smile. I really don't have much to say. It is an expensive splurge but very much worth it!

If I have to be ultra picky there are some things that we thought could be better. Toiletries could be better (no hair conditioner, comb, shaving kit, etc.). Snorkeling masks and kayaking could be free to guests even with a time restriction like 30 min/day. Paying for those activities seemed a little cheap of their part after paying a $1000+/night. For the New Year's Eve event, the gala dinner was amazing but not even a single champagne glass for a toast was provided. Also no fireworks, only a countdown on a screen which was pretty anticlimatic. I expected more for $210/person. Again, these are all minor observations with no impact whatsoever in our overall experience.

We took a full board booking and it covered all 3 meals in only one of the restaurants. It would have been better if the full board gave options to the other restaurants within the resort too.

After the speedboat transfer uncomfortableness and some awkwardness around what to do with me at check in as I was on my own…….. at first I was regretting my choice of resort. Then it all changed. I was checked in by Aaish (needs a pay rise in my opinion lol) who was just the right amount of wonderful asked the right questions and advised me that I wasn’t going to continue be treated oddly for being on my own, I breathed a sigh of relief. My room was upgraded for the first night and I was allocated the adults only restaurant, so grateful for that lol From then on the experience was 10 out of 10. The young men that served me in my section of the Maalan Restaurant for each meal were wonderful, professional, friendly young men who are an asset to the resort. The food was plentiful and so many types to choose from. Any staff I encountered were lovely kind and hard working. My housekeeper did a fantastic job and he was so lovely. The guest services attendants, gardeners, chefs, bar staff etc etc etc were all amazing. I even ended up on a new speedboat on the ride back to the airport so that rounded off the trip just nicely. I had zero complaints after the initial rocky start. The island is beautiful with a lovely clean beach all the way around and many spots to snorkel. Palm trees all around crystal clear blue water. Beautiful gardens. They have a good range of activities which I didn’t participate in as I was there for down time. I did snorkel as I had my own gear but you can also buy or hire gear there. Its easy to get to as it is only an hour by speedboat from Male. The rooms had really comfy beds and all the extras like robes etc. Loved it 😊

I would have given a 10 however first impressions matter and I was treated like I was an annoyance on the speedboat transfer. I was the only one travelling alone and this to me seemed like the only reason I would be targeted and treated this way. It made the start of the trip very uncomfortable and at that stage was 100% regretting my choice.

Everything was perfect! The staff were super friendly and service was speedy. The over water villa was well equip and beautifully clean. The beaches were stunning and the pools were relaxing. There was a wide range of food options and even catered for alternative diets i.e. gluten free and vegan. Cocktails were on the all inclusive along with a wide array of other options. Everything was perfect!

The food and drinks were too good - so we ate and drank too much, and now we have to diet for several weeks!

When you imagine Maldives ,you imagine this !!! This is my first time ,so i can not compare what more can you get from other resorts (maybe more activities,maybe more quality in food and more high luxury rooms) . So , 1.The resort is near Male (45 minutes with boat ) 2.The island is as big as you want ,so you can walk all the island in 1 hour with a perfect nautre inside the island 3.The adult area is seperate from family area but you can go to family area to swim in the pool 4.The sea and the marine life was great 5.The activity i went was the shark snorkelling and it was super 6.They upgraded my room ,so i took a beach room and it was amazing .....i can hear only the tide . (thank you for that) 7.The food was very good ,i paid for all meals and it was a good choice . 8.The beaches were like card postal . 9.The price !!!for maldives i believe is a good price 10.The staff was very organize for you arrival and for your departure ,so you dnt have to worry for anything 11.Wifi was very good ,not all day but i dnt have problems . Everything you want from a resort is there .

1.My 2 hours waiting in the airport (the worst airport in the world) , i was waiting a couple to arrive...so i loose 2 hours (believe me it counts) Nothing else ...thanks for the experience

the best resort island for families - I have done extensive oline research before booking - but meeru - and the overall MEERU EXPERIENCE just exceeded any expectations we had had as a family befroe travelling. An inceredibly relaxing holiday - and if you are not an alcoholic - the FULL BOARD is more than enough for you (even with 1-2 cocktils per adult per day...) - and that way it stays an affordable dream experience... will definitely return...one day...maybe for an anniversary...
