Very nice and new hostel, the owners are very kind and helpful. They helped me to organise the cab to and from the hostel. I was very lucky to get my room upgraded and they offered me coffee in the mornings. The bed was comfortable and the shower had hot water and there was good internet connection. When I got sick with food poisoning the owner was very helpful and offered me herbal tea. It's a great place for those who like privacy and wish to avoid the crowds.

I was hoping to meet other travellers at the hostel but it was so new there weren't any other people around. The kitchen could have been a bit cleaner.

The very welcoming atmosphere of this beautiful and very comfortable hostel is just amazing! Everything is so well taken care of and the staff Jose Luis and his son are so friendly and really caring for your well being. The cleanliness of the bathroom, the free use of the washing machine, the nice view on the roof overlooking the mountain area of San Cris. The kitchen is so well equiped and inviting to do your cooking, there is coffee and cookies and tea always available and a big fridge to store your stuff and spices you can use while preparing some food and the kitchen is super spacious and always clean! The hostal is a quiet heaven in a lovely side street of the more busy walking area. Staying in this hostel made my time in San Cristobal de las Casas a very memorable one. It was like being part of the family not a guest in a hostal. Thanks so much. Hope to visit again one day.

Nothing, it is just perfect!

This is absolutely the best hostel I have ever stayed in so far :) The place is so clean, comfy beds and the design of the house is just stunning. Always hot water, top clean bathrooms and shower. Wifi is really great!!! Wonderful connection. A great thing is you get a free coffee, tea, water, towel and you can make a laundry here as well. Edgard and Jose, who works here, they are amazing people. So helpful, always ready to give you an advice or recommendation. If you stay in San Cristobal, you definitely need to book this place ✨✨✨

EVERYTHING WAS JIST WONDERFUL

I absolutely love it! I felt so at home and everything was immaculate. Staff The staff were incredibly helpful with everything, and spoke english as well as spanish! Laundry I loved that I could do my own laundry with no restrictions. I have a lot of hand-wash clothing, including satins, wool, and jeans, and it was such a relief to be able to wash everything properly without any damage. Some places have made my clothes smaller, but not here! Showers The warm showers were a blessing after traveling for months without them. They were impeccably clean! I once went in after a lady with long dark hair, and though her hair was left in the shower, I didn’t mind because everything else was spotless. Normally, I would freak out if I found a strand of hair that wasn’t mine. Working Spaces You can work anywhere - on the terraces, in the living room, or the eating area. There are plugs everywhere: outside, on the floors, in the walls, both high and low. Plus, there are two WiFi connections. The only downside is that the WiFi can become a bit slow when the hostel is very busy. Entertainment The TV room has a smart TV, and the pool table can be converted into a ping pong table and another game table I don’t know the name of. Location The hostel is conveniently located, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and you can book plenty of tours with the hostel for a good price! Ambiance The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming, perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel. Room Comfort The rooms are comfortable and clean, with cozy beds that ensure a good night’s sleep. Also the blankets are so soft! Food Options There are great food options available, and the kitchen facilities are well-maintained for those who prefer to cook their meals. Value for Money Considering all the amenities and the excellent service, this hostel provides great value for the price.

One day the warm water wasnt boiling hot and I like my showers to be around 48 degrees. Also I would assume those super soft blankets to the living room for extra comfort while watching movies.

This hostel is incredible. It’s beautiful, clean, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen is amazing, there are sofas to relax on and watch TV, a room to work in and plenty of space to hang out and socialise. The father and son who run it are so friendly and nice. I was upgraded to a private room and it was extremely comfortable and nice. There is hot water all day and the bathroom is very clean. It feels more like a hotel than a hostal. And the location is great too, close to the centre and nice and quiet. Simply the best hostal I’ve ever stayed in

We loved it! Super clean, close to the center, hot water 24/7, fully equipped kitchen, great internet, excellent service and staff attention – 10 out of 10. We immediately felt at home. There's always coffee, tea, and cookies in the kitchen, and they let us check in early and check out a bit later. They even have ping pong! A wonderful place you'd want to come back to. Special thanks to the staff for their care and attention. 10/10

The most comfortable bed we have ever slept on at a hostel, cleanest hostel we have ever stayed in, and their kitchen is the best equipped in all of Mexico! Plus the staff is super friendly! Anytime we are in San Cristóbal, we will stay at Tierra Alta💜

We LOVED this place. Definitely the nicest place we stayed in Mexico, the rooms are very nice considering how cheap it is. The common area is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. Location is great, just a block away from the Main Street. The hotel also helped us with some tours, cheaper than if you get them somewhere else. Definitely recommend this place!

Family run hostel in a quiet part of town. Equally so close (short walk (7 mins) distance to central plaza. Safe neighbourhood and family went above and beyond, even dropping us to the bus station. I found it very cold (and wasn’t prepared coming from much hotter climates in Mexico) but there were extra blankets. Communal kitchen and free drinking water available.
