Amaca was in a great location, easily walkable to the neighborhood. The hotel itself was clean, beautiful and had a lot of information available about PV. We absolutely loved our room; it was spacious with a king size bed, hammock and built in couch. Hot water shower and AC worked perfectly and having a refrigerator in the room was a major plus. We didn't want to leave and look forward to staying here again whenever we come back to PV.

There was some construction going on while we stayed. Incomplete rooftop bar and pool lounge area was a bummer but didn't ruin our stay as we were still able to use the pool itself. I'm sure it will look amazing once it is complete.

The room was large with a small terrace; most of the rooms face other buildings (a few face the ocean in the distance). The location was fine for me but be aware that you either need to use the funicular, or walk up very steep hills. The staff was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable; the AC worked great. There is no breakfast offered here but they do serve Coffee and Bananas each morning.

There was construction noise which was a bit annoying. The rooftop and pool are nice, but they put a roof above the rooftop bar which blocks the sun, so the pool water is VERY cold. Jorge the bartender makes the BEST COCKTAIL recipes; but there should be more Tequila in the drinks (I ordered a double shot and it came to $15 which is too high for Puerto Vallarta)

I like the location as it is right above the old town area and right above the trolley. It's a hike up that hill or down that hill but I always feel better after I do it. I always try to stay here.

I don't think there is anything I don't like. I guess the staff could be more careful parking the vehicles as twice I've come to find that the hotel vehicles were too far over and blocking an normally available space. They should be careful to park closer to the stairs or way within the lines so as not to make it difficult or impossible for guest to park.

It was just above and beyond. The pricing for this quality can't be topped. The rooms are modern but perfect for showing Mexican culture! Some rooms have hammocks inside the room. The pool was small but perfect! The bed was amazing, and the bedlinen was the best bedlinen in my whole life!! I slept like a baby. The shower was a rain shower, and with perfect water pressure. There was a Bellman helping with our luggage in the stairs which made the stairs not be a problem. We really loved this place, and are coming back 110 percent!

Absolutt ingenting

The place was really nice and it is well communicated with downtown Vallarta with the little tram that takes you up and down the hill. The room as confortable and nice.

The window did not close properly, so the AC could not completely make the room cold. Further than that the hotel and staff were very nice and the place was confortable. There are a lot of stairs to climb.

Hotel Amaca is a great value and has upgraded their facilities to include a breakfast bar/lounge that serves food throughout the day. The pool and roofdeck have also been improved as well. The pool is now heated and is much more usable than before. The rooftop bar continues to be a highlight and a bargain with cheaply priced mixology drinks.

The hotel is still rough around the edges. Our shower didn't drain properly and the furnishings are a bit dated. But other than being an older property, there is not much to complain about at this price point.

I LOVE the rooms with the hammock and beautiful colors! AND, the linen is the most amazing linen I've EVER slept in! Its magical!!!

It's a little walk uphill, but me personally, I LOVE that. But if you're older or have any disabilities, you will need an Uber. It's also no elevators, but they are very helpful and help you carry your luggage up the stairs.

Love this hotel, very quiet and great location. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar makes incredible cocktails (or mocktails), and serves delicious tacos. Lovely small pool up there with great views. Have stayed at Hotel Amaca 3 times now and plan to stay again next time I am in PV!

Not a criticism but important to note (and they are clear about this) - no elevators, must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs with your bags when staying here.

Location was great. Room size was good. Bed was very comfortable. It was quiet at night which is important to me. Shower pressure was acceptable.

I don’t understand how when a room is cleaned that housekeeping can’t make sure there aren’t hairs all over the place. My bed has more hair in the top cover than a hair salon. Was disgusting. Long hairs on the floor. A hair ball in the shower. I spend 20 min wiping hair off all surfaces. Truly nasty
