Amazing views, art in every detail. The grounds and gardens are like a hidden oasis. Our room was like a huge apartment, clean with panoramic views.

Breakfast was $25 USD for a very mediocre buffet. They charge the same price to non hotel guests and give them a day pass at the pool for that price. I was a bit surprised they charge their guests the same amount. This policy also makes the pool too crowded

The views were exceptional! The staff were so friendly, and bilingual. They explained everything perfectly upon arrival. They carried our bags for us, and they were available via WhatsApp for service. The resort itself is super nice with an authentic feel of Mexico. The onsite restaurant and bar staff were top tier!!! Always attentive and served us whatever we needed. The office even booked us an ATV tour which was awesome! The location is just a 7-8 min walk from the Romantic Zone, which is a great walking part of the city for bars, restaurants, shops, and clubs.

The only drawback I would say is that they shut down rather quickly, including the front office and restaurant. This didn’t bother me personally, but I could see the downside if you lost your key while out after hours and stuck with no way in because all the gates lock.

This is our third stay at the Marcela. We love the proximity to the romantic zone and old town. It’s peaceful and very laid back. We are walkers and stairs are no obstacle for us. Plan on them you, are up above the highway. We exit daily from the lower gate. I’m in better biking season shape after a week here! Love the city views from here. The pools are awesome and the entire layout is artistic and beautiful. Food and drink from the bar excellent. Handy spa and small gym on site.

Given the highway below there is a fair amount of road traffic noise but it blends in With the urban vibe. If you want to walk out the door to the beach this isn’t for you.

I was a travel agent for 40 years and I have stayed at the best hotels all over London, Paris, and I have not experienced as lovely a hotel as this one, the room was beautiful it had everything, and it was clean, quite, and convenient to the restaurant and pools, I ordered from your restaurant the staff was kind and patient and the food was excellent, the hotels layout was so unique, and romantic. Everything was explained to me perfectly when I arrived, the only thing I can think of would be a pamphlet, brochure of what the hotel has to offer in more detail, like the spa prices a menu for the restaurant, a map of the hotel grounds, I wanted to explore the hotel but I didn't want to interrupt anyone. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Toilet flush was a 3 or 4 at best in our unit. And there was a random leak on kitchen floor and around island at all times. The balcony outside our unit at neighboring building (not Marcela's fault or doing, but affected ambiance) had 2 dogs that were kept in deplorable conditions, a 3 ft disgusting balcony on 3rd or 4th floor of building. The poor dogs cried and barked desperately, they were fluffy dogs and their fur was matted and dirty, it was 103 F and +95% humidity. It was terribly sad. It needs to be addressed, it made my heart hurt for them and woke me every morning with their barking/crying. I felt terrible for them, it kinda ruined feeling relaxed :'(

The facility is awesome! Close to everything. The food was fantastic. The only problem we had was the NOISE! Not the resorts fault. Unfortunately, we got put next to a family with kids who watched TV on blast, yelled, screamed and whistled til 1am. If you like quiet, I suggest going to an adult only facility. If you are a family with kids, this place is perfect! The pool area is really cool. I am providing a photo of the full size washer/dryer that was outside our bedroom. I was looking specifically for a hotel with a washer/dryer but they did not provide any pictures. Here ya go!! :-)

The resort’s use of WhatsApp was a great convenience—any time we needed something, the staff responded quickly. The grounds were well-maintained, and I always felt safe and comfortable. The room met expectations, and the view was excellent. We had lunch at the resort several times, and the food was always freshly prepared. The check-in process was smooth and thorough, which helped address any questions or concerns in advance.

Several of the bedrooms are located next to the stairwell, which can be noisy at night due to people talking and going up and down the steps. While the location is fairly close to downtown activities, be prepared for a lot of walking—and quite a few steps—unless you opt to take an Uber. Either way, make sure to stretch—there are definitely a lot of steps! 😄

Our apartment, PH del Sol, was gorgeous… spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, with an amazing “big” view of the ocean and Puerto Vallarta, and a Jacuzzi for relaxation. The bedroom was very quiet with a comfortable bed and an assortment of pillows and cushions. Despite there being lots of stairs, due to the location of the hotel and its natural layout on the hillside overlooking Puerto Vallarta, there is a small lift to all floors!! The pool area is lovely, with a main pool and some small pools and jacuzzis. There are different terraces with lots of green foliage and an amazing old tree which offers welcoming shade. The drinks served at the bar were great and the breakfast menu and snacks served in the restaurant were excellent (we didn’t actually have a full meal there). The gym is well equipped, and although we didn’t use the spa, I will next time! Communication by WhatsApp was very smooth at all times with the hotel reception, and although the lift wasn’t working one afternoon, it was quickly and quietly fixed by the following morning.

The restaurant closed early on Friday evening when we arrived (ie before the stated 9pm), so we had to go into Puerto Vallarta. The area just outside the exit door onto the main road could do with some maintenance!!

Beautiful landscaped property at top of hill with well-kept and attractive gardens; super-clean and well kept. Lovely pools and view from pool over the bay; pools always well maintained and spotless. Steps and walk to city centre was easy. Staff couldn’t do enough for us! Very friendly, helpful and charming. It feels like you are visiting friends. Apartment style rooms were well appointed and well equipped. Excellent servicing of rooms as needed. Gorgeous views everywhere.

Perhaps offering some simple snacks from bar area/ restaurant.l would be nice.

The grounds are beautiful. So well done. Quiet place overall, away from the hustle and bustle just a few blocks away. Views are fantastic. Restaurant pretty tasty too and the pool side service and attention was great! Our unit, Verde, was huge! Loved that. Pretty much like a 2bd apartment!

Randomly, a leak occurred in unit above us (it wasn’t leaking into our place) but they started drilling loudly at 9am without letting us know. We were jet lagged still so it was a rude awakening. Wish we would have known prior, they mentioned they knew a day before they’d be fixing it. Also, the adjacent doors (they have shared units if wanted) were unlocked so people next to us walked into our place randomly while we were sitting there. The management more than compensated us for the troubles though, which was super nice. The beaches around area aren’t great, in December anyways, rough water, not blue, but warm.
