We loved this hotel. The view from the room was spectacular. The room was renovated, beds were comfortable and very clean. The staff were all very friendly.

It’s an older unheated pool so quite cold in February.

Loved the location of this hotel. It's on the most gorgeous beach with perfectly clear warm water, protected by rocks so not too big of waves. Lovely restaurant on the beach which has an incredible menu and for very reasonable rates. The hotel staff at Markakoba are very friendly and personable. The rooms are large and spacious and it is LOVELY to hear the sound of the waves from your bedroom where the windows open.

Our room was a little outdated, so we paid to upgrade to a different one. The beach is lovely, but is mainly taken over by lawn chairs for the hotel next door. The marakoba only has a couple of chairs and you have to find staff to bring them down each day. It's not a deal breaker, but it would be much better if they had a little section set up for this hotel. I loved hearing the sound of the waves from our room. But I did find it a little bit noisy at this hotel since there are a lot of cars that speed by on the highway. Not a big deal, but if you're a light sleeper pack earplugs.

breakfast and meals are offered in the restaurant just above the beach, which actually belongs to the Lindo Mar Property next door but serves the Marboka clients... the food is Classic Mexican..tasty and generously served. it is possible to have drinks and food right on the little beach, as the waiters will accommodate. the beach was perfect for us..not a long one with waves, but a succession of little coves with sand and breakers..

frankly nothing comes to mind that we did not like..this is our second stay at the Marboka.. prices keep going up in MX and the dollar buys ever less..

I liked the simplicity. The Mexican feel and style. The staff are devoted to your comfort and enjoyment. Top them well, they deserve everything. Carlos at the front desk is exceptional. The man bring you towels, drinks and beach chairs is a gem. Remember to bring LOTS of pesos for the TAXIS. No one is taking credit cards anymore. They refused to take your credit card. They will only take cash. Uber is 1/2 the price and is paid by credit card. Pesos for tip. They may take 10-15 minutes but worth it. FYI- Uber won’t pick you up from the botanical gardens. The front desk will book excursions for you and taxis. Our rooms were cleaned every day and we left a tip on the fridge for them every day There is filtered water on every floor, which is super convenient The hotel itself is like a boutique hotel, and open air to the spectacular view I’m not sure if every room has a view but I think they do It has a very nice balcony and the price range dictates how large your balcony is. Ours was the least expensive and it was perfect. It had a fridge, a cooktop, fresh towels and cleaning every day good size room with two queen beds. The restaurant la Playita excellent it’s an open air restaurant in the hotel that looks out over the entire bay where you can watch Wales and the boats go by the Diverse harvesting oysters and all the different birds it’s really spectacular. The food is absolutely wonderful and the menu is excellent as well We realize four days into our trip that you can walk down to Zona Romantica I think it’s 1.5 km and about a 15 maybe 20 minute walk the bus stop is right out front 10 pesos and about five minutes into town Enjoy We will definitely be back

I can’t say that I disliked anything about the property I loved that it was open air and that there weren’t a lot of people there because there’s only a handful of sweets. A lot of locals were staying there, which I loved. The photos aren’t in proper order

Beautiful waterfront views from our balcony. Modern, well appointed room, with quiet, split air-conditioning. The tiled accent walls in the rooms are lovely. Friendly and helpful staff, from front-desk to cleaning and maintenance personnel.

Quite expensive given the limited facilities at the hotel. There is one, smaller pool, with only a couple of lounge chairs, which seems to be it for facilities. There are no food services offered, no elevators, and no real beach access or palapas. The small beach area in front of the hotel is underwater at high tide, but is pretty much completely reserved for the residences next door anyways.

Breakfast and dinners were very good. Location is great. Wonderful view of the ocean from the lovely balconies. Easy to catch a cab into the old town for a visit or dinner but we still felt somewhat secluded from the busy downtown.

The only thing they should work on is getting better priority on the beach. I asked to take some chairs from the neighboring hotel and I was told I could only use part of the beach. Perhaps some more chairs and umbrellas for the Marboka people

Great beach and solid restaurant on the beachfront. Room was comfortable. the balcony bathtub jacuzzi as hot as you want it with the sunset view was awesome. Jacinto is a total stud and 5 star manager. The rest of the staff is super helpful and friendly. We also loved cooling off in the pool after dinner at sunset. We went to dinner every night in the Zona Romantica and had a great time. Great snorkeling at the beach.

you need to understand that that block is a jumble of hotel, condos, with bridges and hallways connecting them.

The location was nice as it was away from the center and quiet, like we wanted, but a really close Uber ride to town. we also walked along the beach a few times to get to town which wasn’t too far. The view was nice and the beach beautiful. A/C worked very well.

There are a few things that unnerved me about the property. Our door didn’t lock closed and you had to remember to lock it and mess with the handle to get it all the way latched. Please install a deadbolt for your guest’s peace of mind. Pillows were too cheap and only had two on a King sized bed. The towels were frayed, thin and scratchy and only had bath towels- no hand towels which was annoying. Downstairs restaurant was delicious, affordable and right on the beach but upstairs one overpriced and not as good. The decor is minimalist but could have used a splash of something more.

Amazing location south of Zona Romantica. Bus stop and taxis right outside on the main Rd. Hotel has access to the beach and a restaurant underneath. Super staff, clean comfortable rooms. We had an absolutely fab stay. Great location if you want to beautiful views and to be close to but not in the centre of the action. We were able to walk into town along the beach but you would probably want to take transport if you were traveling with small kids as it wouldn't be ideal for a stroller.

A pleasant surprise, very clean, recently renovated, studio style hotel with direct private beach access. If you want yo keep it simple and deal directly with the gorgeous ocean, yes yes yes. If your looking for amenities, not here. It’s very isolated in its feel so this is for beachside silence. Essentially it’s a no frills Mar Lindo, though there’s access to their beach restaurant. There’s no better place for beach access at this price. Night is breathtaking.

The terrace room was beautiful but for my vegan friends the 3rd floor terraces smell of grilling bacon at sunrise as the restaurant serves breakfast to the crowd.
