Totally unique hotel within a funky design gallery, with spectacular rooms (as pictured, but more dramatic in the flesh) and as central a location as you could possibly want, about 10 steps from Zocalo. We got a great price, and the staff were excellent. Be aware that the second floor rooms are up two big flights of stairs. Don't book if you struggle with climbing. Also, the pedestrian street is insanely busy, especially at the weekends. It seems to be where all of CDMX comes for a stroll, although I don't understand how anyone could find this relaxing or pleasant. You are certainly plunged into the throbbing heart of this fantastic city, but that might not be for everyone. Note that the rooms are tucked away and very quiet, though.

This property is filled with character, and is so unique. The rooms are spacious, and well appointed. The museum and shop are cool, and the restaurant was great for breakfast. I liked the upstairs room with coffee and a great view of the Centro.

It was awkward if you came back after 10:00 PM, or wanted to go in and out after that time, as the museum had to be locked. There was always someone on duty, and they were nice about it, but it wasn't the best situation. Also, sometimes the police would close off the street and you had to convince them your hotel was in the block so they would let you back in.

A fantastic place to stay located right near Zocalo. The staff, including Manuel, Giselle, and Arturo, were full of hospitality and always friendly. The house is renovated, very modern, and aligns both modern and historical decor. The rooms are spacious, the beds very comfy, and there is a common room where tea and coffee are offered 24 hours a day. My room was softly lit also because it was in the inner part of the house (which I recommend), which might not be ideal for everyone, but the room offered so much comfort that it was a quantité négligeable. Many thanks also for the sweet, delicious Mexican treats every day. There would be more to say, but to make a long story short: next time in Mexico City, I will stay with Mumedi again.

Dim light sometimes tricky. Rooms reaching out to pedestrian area could be loud.

We absolutely loved this amazing hotel! It is on a pedestrian only street, only half a block from the Zocalo. A perfect location, especially for first time visitors. It was built in the 1500's and supposedly Cortes' horses were stabled on the ground floor. Now it is an art gallery and museum with a restaurant, museum shop, and only 6 rooms. Ours was huge! 20 some feet on a side and almost as high with the mixed lava and mortar walls from the 16th century. A very generous breakfast is included 9AM to Noon! We'd sit outside, under a big umbrella, and watch the Mexico City world go by. The staff is so nice and helpful it is almost embarrassing. When we were there, there was a fascinating Day of the Dead Art Exhibit which we thoroughly enjoyed. Uber pick up and drop off is a short block away. Easily walk to all major Centro sites/museums/murals, and lots of excellent shopping and restaurants (e.g. Azul Historico-try the "Mexican Caviar" white ant eggs-really! and Cafe Tacuba: 112 year old gorgeous decor, great 8 person Mariachi band, excellent food, great prices, very helpful waitress, etc) Mumedi Design Hotel is not cheap, but it's an excellent value! Wonderful choice! So glad we found it, and trust Booking.com high recommendations.

Great place! No complaints.

Fantastic place to stay right near Zocalo. Manny and the staff are incredibly helpful and nice. We had an interior room, which was quiet, spacious, and well thought-out with storage and outlets where you need them. Comfy bed. Good breakfast - had a choice of Mexican (eggs or chicken enchiladas with green or red sauce), continental (bread instead of eggs), or just Eggs; + Fruit, coffee, fresh squeezed Juice). We had an upstairs room (no elevator) staff brought our bags up and down. Wonderful to be located on a pedestrian street - Uber drop off is around the corner from the Coca-Cola store).

Interior room (artistically & romantically) dimly lit at night. So might not be good for someone who needs bright room. Very bright during the day, however. Nothing I didn't like.

Liked · Manuel, the manager, reached out to us upon booking, met us as we arrived, took great care of us while we were in Mexico City and bid us farewell as we left. He is a treasure! The rooms are extraordinary, beautifully designed and appointed with high ceilings and completely dark and silent at night. The property is a few doors down from the Presidential residence, literally the White House of Mexico, so the entire street’s sealed off at night and it’s safe and quiet and cosy. Staff Eduardo, Avril and Abigail all are wonderful, kind and professional and all took exquisite care of us. Unreservedly Recommended!

Everything was amazing from start to finish! Emanuel found me within seconds of walking into the hotel lobby. There was quite a large crowd of folks waiting to see their art exhibit & I was surprised as he found me so quickly! Emanuel helped take my luggage up to the office & got me a table at the cafe as I was 3 hours early for check in. Within the hour my room was ready & I was taken to the gorgeous space I was to stay in. The room was so spacious! There was an adorable Mumedi silver rubber ducky on the bed as a surprise gift. The mini fridge had complimentary beverages & water was refreshed each day. The bed was super comfy and the pillows were just right. It was nice to relax and watch Netflix with the a/c running for a little nap between adventures. The complimentary breakfast was lovely and the service was fantastic in every manner. The gift shop was super cute and I was happy to be able to treat friends and family with the gifts I found there. The art exhibit was SO COOL! The general public cleared out closer to 7pm & having the ability to roam the art without a ton of people was a really nice bonus.

The location was great, being right off the center of the main square. And although the streets were busy due to it being a popular location and a large marathon weekend, the noise canceling windows/doors were INCREDIBLE and made you feel like you were in an oasis amongst all the hype! The staff were super thoughtful and kind, which made our stay that much better. Getting a private tour of the museum was also a really fun perk!

The shower pressure was unfortunately less than ideal, though the aesthetic was right on point. And even with the low pressure, the staff were super responsive and helpful when we reached out for help, as it was also cold. We got the hot water going, but being in an older building will come with some older pipes as well is all!

If you want to be in the city center, this is the perfect hotel. Spacious rooms, clean, and the best and most accommodating staff. Great value for money!

This is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the hotel/property. I wouldn't choose to stay in the city center. It's certainly worth visiting, but it's very busy.
