situated on a hill overlooking Morelia it’s a 10 minute Uber ride into the historic centre (£3). It’s a sprawling complex, prettily designed with pool area and gym. Our room was comfortable, with a separate sitting area. It gets cold at night here in February (down to as low as 1 degree despite it being 27 or 28 degrees in the afternoon) so the heating was needed, although none in the seating area.

Rated one of the best places for breakfast in the area we found it disappointing. There’s a massive buffet on Sunday and lots of locals come to eat. The omelette and scrambled eggs were dry, although there was a decent choice of fruit and yoghurt. If you’re into the Mexican style (very large and savoury) breakfast it’s probably better. The seating area in the room could have done with heating.

Beautiful older secure property that is spread out nicely. Large rooms with brick domed ceiling. Lots of cantera statues and hand laid brick all over property. Excellent views of historic downtown. From our room, we were fortunate enough to see fireworks at the Cathedral Saturday night at 9pm. Sunday brunch had an excellent layout.

Totally recommended. Our stay was wonderful. All the details are perfectly taken care of - keeping top quality standards while making you feel at a Mexican home. The rooms are spacious and bright, comfortable, with a lovely decor, with temperature control, equipped with everything you may need, and the bed is absolutely perfect, from the linens to the pillows. The bathroom is comfortable and nice. The breakfast was great in every way (à la carte) and the waiters there are outstandingly kind and professional. The rest of the staff is utterly kind as well: cleaning staff, bellmen/doorman, night staff, maintenance staff. The facilities are amazing: the gardens are lovely, the pool is comfortably sized and moderately heated while keeping the magnificent view that outdoors offer, the gym is very well equipped, the restaurant, rooms, terraces, everything is gorgeous! I only wish we had had more time to enjoy as well the massages and wellness options - but this will be scheduled for sure for a next visit. Finally, the possibility of parking and the helpfulness of the staff there is much appreciated and adds to a perfect stay. Many thanks, looking forward to coming back!

They ask to keep my ID card, I think is not right to do it. I request about more sugar and they sent me 2 little bags (canderel).

The property is beautiful every corner is nicely decorated and cared for. The views of the city were so beautiful and no noise very tranquile for sleeping.

Main blind in bedroom not close completely for privacy. Heater in one bedroom of suite did not work. Someone was going to repair/replace but not done. A great bonus would be the written history of Villa de Montaña-would be very interesting for guests from outside Mexico. Was disappointed that none of the staff we talked to (including reception) could tell us about its history. Your employees can be proud of being a part of someplace so beautiful& unique.

the stairs to the room, they were longer than I would had like them to be, but once you’re up there, the view around the property was very beautiful. I don’t know if that is a negative, but there wasn’t anything to complain about.

Even before we arrived they were kind enough to send me their menus to make sure they had food that I could eat (I´m vegetarian and sometimes I struggle with hotel food). The location was beautiful, it had an amazing view of the city. The facility was exceptionally clean. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating to us and our puppy. The gatekeepers even washed our car without us asking free of charge (Of course they got a good tip ;)). I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF MY STAY! I Have nothing negative to say about Villa Montaña.
