I recently had the pleasure of staying at a boutique hotel in Sayulita, Mexico and I couldn't have been more impressed with the level of service provided. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary breakfast that was included with my room. The food was delicious and a great way to start each day. Additionally, the hotel offered rental of golf carts for exploring the area, which made getting around town a breeze. The hotel is located in a safe area, which gave me peace of mind during my stay. I felt comfortable walking around the neighborhood and exploring the nearby shops and restaurants. Overall, I highly recommend this boutique hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Sayulita. The excellent service, free breakfast, and convenient amenities make it a top choice for couple’s.

Great pool. Comfortable rooms. Lunch food was good. I did not have breakfast, but I'm sure it would have been good. Easy to walk to town & quiet overall

Only two points for those who might care more about these: 1) it's a 10min walk to downtown, which was fine but just to be prepared. 2) You can hear pool activity from your room, not a big deal because it's quiet at night.

Loved the quiet away from the city. Close enough to be a 10 min walk or less to the centre of town. Rented golf carts for a couple days, super easy to book. I would say reserve beforehand if you know you want to use. You definitely will have fun, was great to come in and out to beach, go for lunch or supper! Pool was lovely to sit around. Food was delicious!! Breakfast options included were light and easy. But there were also many options to pick from on the menu! Also was walking distance to a take away coffee place, pizza, small corner store, and a little bit further of a walk was don jauns. Loved everything!

We were grateful for the generous hospitality of the staff and team at Avela. Our host and property manager, Daniel, was so kind in making sure not only our stay was comfortable but that the details of our stay were planned out - from the best massages we have had to horseback riding into the sunset. The breakfasts every morning of our stay were scrumptious. Our favorite was the Avena and the Huevos con chorizo - we also loved adding a smoothie! We were a 5 min easy walk into town whether taking a steep road with views or other flatter roads - paths for everyone depending on comfort and ease. This was our home away from home while staying in Sayulita. We loved running to the beach everyday and we definitely plan to stay again 🧡

We arrived in Sayulita with no phone service. The good thing is Google map still works and the hotel is located by a main road. Therefore, we still successfully found the hotel without data and it took us about 15 minutes walk from the sayulita terminal to Avela. Breakfast has some free staff to choose from and they are nice.

1. The hotel room will only be cleaned when a’yes please’ sign is put up. We stayed for 4 nights and the room was only cleaned once. This is our bad because we never remember to put the sign on or when we finally remembered, we put the sign on the wrong side. We don’t have clean towels for two days and we have to use the beach towels in the end. I do wish that you would change the policy a little. Just change the towels every day and everything else is fine. 2. The server in the kitchen for breakfast is always not so nice.

Staff was phenomenal - Daniel and Kat (I can't remember her name I'm sorry - the blonde Canadian girl); went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. All the staff were lovely! On my birthday the staff surprised me with a French Toast breakfast cake and it was the most incredible thing I have ever eaten. Thank you again Avela staff for making my birthday so special!

The only thing that I would warn people about is the power and wifi - based on this hotels location they do experience somewhat frequent power outages. This did not bother us at all but for people that are working remotely and need wifi 24/7 it might be a little bit of a nuisance. However, whenever the power did go out, it was only for an hour max. Like I said this did not bother us but just a warning for people that may need to depend on wifi for work.

Fantastic staff! The manager was so friendly and constantly running around tending to the guests. ( I think he never leaves!) The woman (Katia? ) was super helpful and gave us wonderful recs around the area. Great stay! We will be back

They need a few more lounge chairs by the pool and a few hooks in the bathroom would be helpful. We also did not have an iron or steamer in our room but I’m sure if I had requested one, they would have found one. All minor things, and we enjoyed our stay!

It was a great hotel room with robes and comfort! The pool and included breakfast was good too 😘 They had a cold and warm Jacuzzi, which was great for the evening when you needed to heat up a bit. We also got a complimentary drink when we arrived, and you get beach towels, beach umbrellas, and can borrow a golf cart from the hotel!! 😻

It said the room had a terrace, but our room has something that looked like a corner wall. But it doesn't matter, because you go straight out to the pool area from your room.

The staff are amazing- Daniel was so friendly & helpful. He went out of his way to make us welcome and offer suggestions for things to do/beaches/restaurants. Beautiful pool area, comfy beds, and only a short walk from downtown Sayulita.

The rooms were very loud (can hear everything happening outside). Thankfully we brought earplugs-Other than that it was a great stay :) We also found it a little bit strange that there was no staff on site past 6pm on a couple nights (guessing due to lack of guests on these nights)

The place is very small and cozy. The location is in a walkable distance to the busy center of Sayulita, which was important for us (downtown Sayulita can be extremely busy and loud during high season). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed the pool area a lot. The hotel has beach umbrellas you can bring to the beach.

As everything else in Mexico, the surroundings can be noisy. Bring a pair of ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Furthermore, all rooms face the pool area and the doors are not soundproof. The pool closes at 10 PM, however since all staff leaves around 8 PM the closing time was not always respected. Thus, we had to ask people to quiet down.
