They have different activities you can join, the internet is superfast, you can refill your water bottle. After 11 is quite. It is a good place if you need to work (they have cowork area), or just relax in the pool. Nearby are many restaurants and coffee where you can have breakfast and buy supplies. It was my first solo travel and it was a good experience because they have 4-beds dorms options and have additional bathrooms.
The staff from the front desk are not nice. The tours they offer are expensive, you can find better and cheaper options in the Main Street of Zicatela. Lockers are outside the room, and they do not have towels.

The pool is amazing (although cleanliness level varies). Amazing yoga deck and good teachers. Overall it’s a beautiful property with amazing palm trees and lots of mango trees. Breakfast expensive and sub par. Public Kitchen the filthiest I’ve seen in a Selina. Not sure why they don’t invest in a third fridge. And I know backpackers can be terrible clients and steal stuff but ONE broken knife for the whole place that can barely cut anything?
I’ve stayed at Selina‘s with better dorms (curtain etc). The one I was staying in, the wooden floor was literally shaking as people walked around. Quite noisy in the dorms right next to pool, karaoke until midnight etc

Room: very nice accommodation, we were pretty happy there, it was clean the only thing was that we don't have hot water at the shower always :( Location is perfect. Restaurant is delicious. Pool was great. Activities seemed nice but we hadn't the chance to take some.
The staff is not very friendly to be honest, never helpful not even kind. We didn't feel like they were trustworthy persons to tell them our needs. Actually I asked about a tour and the guy was like "I don't know, go to check with the phone on the advertising" TBH is a big contrast between the place which looks very friendly versus the people who are attending it.

Location: It´s like waking up in paradise. We got a private room with our own bathroom, which I would recommend getting. Wanted to use the shared bathrooms once and unfortunately every single one was disgusting and dirty (unfortunately this happens when people share bathrooms and do not care about other guests at all). The whole ambience is wonderful and the beach is literally 5 meters away. There are some balconies with hammocks and yoga lessons. The view from the balcony is just breath taking. Also, lots of very nice restaurants around, night life is also really fun since there a lots of bars and pubs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect, lots of options and huge portions. We expected a breakfast buffet, but you get a set menu where you can choose from (bowls, fruit salads, omelettes, fried eggs on ham and cheese toast etc.) comes with drinks/smoothie and you can also have coffee with it. Taxi´s go around all the time, so it is very easy to commute.
shared bathrooms were not clean (but we had our own one so not really necessary)

The place is great to meet other travellers, they have a lot of social events happening and it's great for digital nomads too.
I booked a private room with my own bathroom. The shower was problematic, some days the pressure was not there.. so no water. The staff however were always attentive to seeing things getting fixed. The tours from the Selina and taxi's a heavily marked up on price. I booked a tour for example through Selina and paid 1,000mxn and some othe people found a street vendors for the same tour at 300mxn.. so my advice is shop around first!!! And same for the taxi also, they take a heavy commission.

Great location, close to Puerto Escondido, and by possibly the best beach in the area, playa Zicatela, with a lot of very nice beach clubs nearby. Communal facilities, bar and restaurant at this property are what it is worth staying for at this place, the facilities improved my rating of this place. The room we had was nice and big, with a balcony overlooking the ocean and the bay. The view was just stunning.
Be prepared to climb a lot of steps. We had to climb 106 steps to go to our room, but then the view from our room was spectacular! Also initial disappointment because the photos on the website and the room we have been given were completely different, and had nothing to do with the advertisement on the site. We complained with the receptionist and then the manager; they have been helpful and gave us a discount, since the room we booked on-line was occupied and this is why they gave us another room. At the end we were happy since they recognised our expectations were mislead by the photos on the website, and the room was nice anyway. Unfortunately we had the same issue with Selina in Cancun, where they initially gave us the wrong room.

I like so much the Selina's style. Specially Puerto Escondido is excellent. They have plenty options not only shared rooms, a restaurant, the bar (tasty mixology), two swimming pools, other bar at the roof top with a nice view to the beach, the library, the kitchen, the wellness area. Everyday day have different activities like karaoke, cinema, among others. It can be a party place but also a place to rest. The best, it is located in front of Zicatela beach, I loved It.
Rats in the kitchen, I saw them! Sometimes kitchen is not very clean and trash can was always full, just be careful if you left your groceries at the kitchen, better in your luggage. It is necessary more coat racks in the shower to hang the clothes or towels.

The atmosphere and location were great! The staff were all super helpful and the events planned for each evening in the social area was a good way to get to know other guests. There was also co-working space and chill out areas. It was definitely the most unique hostel I have visited, set across 4 or 5 levels with insane views of the beach! The location on Playa Zicatela was perfect, it was convenient from the town centre to walk to the bank when we needed cash, close to many lavandarias, 15mins to the airport and many bars/restaurants. It felt more convenient than La Punta, even though the other side seemed more 'trendy'. The onsite restaurant was also great, delicious food, friendly staff and great value! Would stay here again!
Our only issue was the toilet not flushing in our room. We were in an 8-bed dorm on the 2nd floor of rooms, and it was quite a hassle to keep using the common area bathrooms since our room toilet was always not working for the 4nights that we stayed in this room.

Excellent beach location, great vibe, fun staff, two pools, central location, taxi's easy to get, park rented scooters right there, surf shop part of Selina (I'm a surfer), more advanced rental surf items steps away from selina, various surf spots close to the spot, especially Playa Zicatela, down the beach at La Punta more chill spot and perfect for beginners in the non surf season. ... office space area was stellar.
all good - knew what I was getting and meet my expectations

Lovely friendly staff . Great atmosphere so great for a solo traveler to hang out and people watch . Rooftop chill out areas and two pools to choose from made for the perfect place to hang out . Shared bathrooms put me off a little at first but they were well maintained mostly so I got use to them . Location was also superb . Overall a great spot to stay .
Why can’t fellow travellers flush a toilet when they’ve used it .
