My father and I enjoyed staying at Hotel Casamar. We rented the two-bedroom apartment. It had everything we needed. The ambience of the place, the owners and the amenities were fantastic. They had free yoga classes every morning. Midday, there was an aqua gym in the pool, and on Tuesdays, they offered free dinner for all the guests staying there. The hotel is located right next to the beach, and there are loads of restaurants, cafes and shops right outside the hotel. It was quiet and a very relaxing place to stay. The owners are very caring about their guests, and that does something with the atmosphere. The garden is beautiful, and the pool is chlorine-free (which I appreciated). It's animal-friendly. The beds were comfortable; the apartment had air-conditioning and, fully equipped kitchen. The water in the shower was warm, and the pressure was good. We would love to stay again in the future; I really recommend staying there.

What an awesome place! The entire place is safe and secure inside a huge center courtyard style property. You use a code to get into the property, then walk past the pool and use your key to get into your little apartment. I really liked the setup. The staff was incredible! Super helpful and friendly, every single one of them. They offer all sorts of activities like pool workouts and yoga daily, free coffee in the mornings. Social hour with live music on Tuesdays. Everything here was excellent! The location is great too. You can walk right to the beach or go the other way one block to be on the main strip. All the restaurants are right there, a quick walk away. Shower was awesome, nice and hot and consistent! It never went hot/cold or anything like that. Once it is hot, it's nice and hot. The air conditioners both worked great! When it was super hot and we came into that ice cold apartment it was like heaven. I would absolutely come back here. The price is incredible too! P.S. The cat is not part of the room. I opened the door and she sprinted in so fast lol. Sweetheart though! I pet her for a bit, gave her some water and then booted her out.

The only complaint I have is that it says on the wall and during check-in that "Bed sheets will be changed every three days".... no, they wont. We were there for 10 days and they never changed them once. I know because there was a very distinguished mark on the sheets and trust me, they were never changed once. One day I literally pulled the sheets off to hint for them to change them out, but they just put them back on the bed and made it :( Don't get the wrong idea though, the staff here is still super awesome!!! I am 100% positive that if I had just gone and asked them for fresh sheets they DEFINITELY would have done it right away! I was just being lazy and it wasn't the end of the world for me.

Pros: - Clean pool and comfortable chairs for lounging - Two hammocks to relax and soak up sun - Grounds were filled with plants, flowers, and trees that made it feel like a tropical sanctuary - Restaurant and free coffee were tasty and convenient (with option to have room service) - Staff were friendly and helpful - Julio was a friendly (chill) cat that would visit periodically - One block from the main strip in La Punta (and one block from a ScotiaBank ATM) - lots of restaurant options within a short walk - Cozy patio space with chairs and table

This place is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, and we love all of the attention to detail. It’s a super relaxing place to just hang out.

Everything was great except for one issue. Our toilet didn’t work. It was barely flushing when we first got there and even though we didn’t put anything down it, it stopped working on the second day. I told the staff that it wasn’t working. They sent a plumber and he noticed the sink was leaking and spent several hours going back-and-forth with different people in our room fixing the sink. But in the end, they didn’t do anything about the toilet. So basically we had a toilet full poop during our stay.

What a hidden gem! We booked one night and ended up staying 4. We stayed in room #3 that was beautiful and spacious, and then room 8 that was a bit smaller but still awesome. The rooms are clean and well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay a pleasant one. We were also able to park our motorcycles securely which was a huge plus. The hotel team is incredible, super kind and helpful. They offer laundry services, there's a restaurant on site, yoga classes and pool aerobics, and even a meet and greet dinner. You simply wouldn't want to leave. We had a wonderful stay and will definately recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Escondido. Unlike other places around, it was quiet, and yet super close to everything - the beach, local grocery store and restaurants. Being able to cook in the room was great since PE is so expensive. Loved it!

There was nothing we didn't like, the property exceeded our expectations.

The staff were super helpful and accommodating. The first room had a very slow wifi. They staff upgraded me to a room directly beside and behind the reception, which enjoyed the fast fibre optic connection from reception. So I was able to have quality zoom meetings. The beach is a 2 min walk, and Zicatel is less than 10 mins. Lots of restaurant options nearby. Quite for quality sleeping. They provide a free 20 litre water bottle, and clean the room whenever you like. Comfortable bed.

Great location tucked just behind the fabulous but busy main La Punta St. The large, quiet and peaceful courtyard with pool and gardens is a welcome oasis. Morning coffee was an unexpected pleasure. We had a new Yoga guide called Roberto I think and he was fabulous. So calm and thoughtful and a thorough but gentle workout - a great start to the day. The staff in general were great and very helpful and we really enjoyed the Tuesday night welcome dinner.

We loved the pool and spent a lot of time in it. Occasionally it needed a little more vigour in its cleaning. Everything else is immaculate.

We were located at the room at the top of the building which had an absolute amazing view. We could literally see the ocean from our bed. If you don't mind taking the stairs, we highly recommend taking the 'Coconut' room. It has a big balcony, comfy bed, nice shower and a little kitchen. The fridge was also a plus. The street with restaurants and shops is right around the corner and the ocean is a couple minutes walking. The breakfast was also very good and the kitchen-staff was super friendly and welcoming. The swimming pool was also nice to cool down during the hottest moment of the day.

You really need personal transport if you want to get around in this area. Taxi's are plentiful but would still recommend renting a bike/scooter.

Lovely well-kept garden, lots of birds, trees, and artwork. Handmade objects such as tiles, lamps, murals in every room and surface. Staff and owners constantly cleaning or cooking and organising. Free yoga classes every morning.

The pool could have been cleaned in the afternoon. The filters were switched off so it became dirty. Guest’s dogs were a nuisance. They roamed free in the garden and could go to the toilet on the grass. They should be walked outside of the grounds and be on a leash when in the garden, or not be allowed in communal areas.

I don't think I could say enough great things about this place...I traveled with my brother and a friend for a Puerto Escondido getaway. This hotel is gated which is a really nice when traveling in an unfamiliar area. The staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. The grounds/gardens were beautiful with hammocks around the property for lounging. Outdoor showers to rinse from the beach before heading up to the room. The pool was fantastic (no chlorine, yay!!!). They also provided complimentary soap/shampoo in the bathroom in our room which was such a great touch. The food was amazing from the little restaurant in the hotel as well. So nice to have a breakfast/lunch option without having to fight the crowds in the town. Complimentary coffee in the morning was a huge perk. They also offer complimentary daily yoga classes for guests, a movie night, and also a meet and greet. The meet and greet seemed like a great opportunity to meet other guests/travelers and they even prepare a complimentary beautiful meal for you as well. SO AMAZING. The location is fantastic. Set down a side street a couple blocks away from the action and super quiet but only a 2 minute walk to the main street OR a 2 minute walk to the beach. We will 100% be back ASAP.

Truth be told, this was one of the best experiences at a hotel in Mexico I have ever had. There was not a single thing we did not like!
