The breakfast is very delicious and plenty of options. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had some great fresh fruit waters and juices made while we were there. We loved that there was many options for lunch and dinner on the street right behind the beach front. We also had a chance to take a yoga class at the hotel and we really enjoyed it. Additionally, the pool was very nice in the evening and there is a bartender available to make you pretty much any kind of drink, she even made some popcorn for us and that was super nice and appreciated.

The area where the hotel is located is a couple of blocks from the beach in a regular neighborhood. The work has started to begin paving the streets, but for now be prepared to walk through some dirt roads. We noticed that the beaches had more of a younger crowd, so if you are in that category, you will love the vibe of Zicatela Beach.

It was only minutes away from the hot spots of La Punta, as well as the main road needed to venture to other areas. Security gates that were locked after a specific time during the week and on weekends. Shred hosted workout classes at the property - making it easily accessible for those looking to exercise. The property also has their own equipment, for a free workout. On site restaurant and bar!

The he website definitely makes the property look to me much more updated than it is in real life. While not a complete turn off, it is misleading. Advertised free sun hats, never saw these and a rooftop palapa bar which during our entire stay never seemed to be open.

I loved everything about this boutique hotel. Beautifully designed to give it a zen feel. All the staff were very welcoming and lovely throughout my stay. The property and grounds are well maintained. Lots of different seating areas and shade. The pool was fabulous for cooling off. Everywhere was immaculate. I had breakfast every morning and dinner a couple of times. The food was beautifully presented and good quality. The prices food and drinks were also very reasonable. I had a balcony room overlooking the pool, which was nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable. I didn’t attend the fitness / yoga classes, but they had a good schedule. I also liked that it was a short walk from all the hustle and bustle of the bars and restaurants. The lack of WiFi in my room wasn’t an issue for me. I could get it on my balcony and in the communal areas.

The facilities of the hotel are great, with a nice swimming pool which was never too crowded, and even basic weights to do workouts. It is just a few minutes away walking to the beach so the location is great as well. They also have a little spa in the hotel which I really recommend, it was great.

Perhaps its because of the nature of Puerto Escondido, but we found the hotel to be on the loud side and we were not always able to properly rest. Every single night there was someone very loudly doing boxing until 11 pm (they told us this is when the quiet hours start) which is ok, but also, from quite early in the morning (around 8 am and even before) and throughout most of the day there were very loud constructions going on both inside the hotel and next to it so it was hard to sleep until late or have naps. Every single day.

Nice pool and everything was constantly cleaned. The location was also nice. Just a 5 minute walk from all the buzz. So definitely not too far away, just right. Also there are options to do sports.

We had a room next to the sporting facility. Even though it is not bothering that much, it does give quite some noise. If you want some rest specifically at that moment, then you are going to have a hard time. However, in the morning they start at reasonable times, and they finish at reasonable times in the afternoon. Not really bothering. One small thing is that the sporting facilities need a small touch-up. You can see it is there for quite some years already.

Great location. Close to La Punta and Playa Zicatela areas while far enough off the main strip to escape the noise of bars and restaurants at night. Property had great amenities. Pool, bar and upstairs palapa areas were great for lounging, reading or having a drink. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean and secure. Food was excellent.

Our room was located between two workout areas, so occasionally we'd hear men pumping iron below us and boxing practice taking place above us. A lot of breathing, grunting, coaching sounds lol. I think it's a great thing for those more fitness minded on vacation. We were mainly there to read books and drink beer so it wasn't really our 'vibe' but that's ok. There was a lack of hot water in the shower. We perhaps had 2 days out of 7 where we got to sample any water temp other than cold...but I get that it's Mexico and we're at the beach so we did not complain about it. Beds are firm. Very firm.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with a very calm and friendly feel to it. The staff are friendly and super helpful and make every stay special. Great if you are into yoga or meditation as there are classes on site. The pool area is lovely to relax in, and food and cocktails from the bar are exceptional. Views from balconies on the second floor look out to the ocean and treetops.

We booked this hotel expecting to be going to a calm and laidback area of Mexico. While it was Christmas/NY time the area was overcrowded and definitely not the calm oasis we expected. The area is being rapidly developed, lots of great restaurants and coffee shops to complement the waves. It’s not our thing, but will be heaven for many.

We liked everything about this hotel! The location was perfect, on a quiet street, but very close to the main hustle and bustle of Punta. We rented a scooter from the place down the street for three days and were able to visit all of the various areas of Puerto Escondido, including all of the different beaches. The architecture and layout of the hotel, including the design and decor, were very well thought out and high-quality. The pool was amazing, especially after a hot day at the beach. We loved the viewing deck, as well as the fitness facilities. The staff were super friendly and the the food coming out of the small kitchen was fresh and unique… Felt like your own personal chef! Thank you to philip and everyone at Casa de Olas. We will definitely be back.

A gorgeous, peaceful little oasis in really central location. Everything was super clean and comfy.

The gym equipment is very old and rusted. I managed to do a decent workout (I'm a personal trainer so I can be pretty resourceful). I just found it strange that everything else here is really beautiful and high standard, so why they wouldn't invest in a new set of dumbbells and some kettlebells and get rid of the old stuff. It's not a complaint as such, cause I was really happy they had things I could use. I just find it strange they haven't decided to look after this area as well as they look after everything else.

The hotel is well located, beautiful, clean. The swimming pool is fantastic. Food service is restrict, but the quality above my expectations. They offer excursions at a better price than those I found at the internet. The staff is terrific.

all the time there is some music playing loud. Usually bad music. They should learn that, at a noisy world, silence is gold. They could encourage those guests who want to hear music to use each one’s mobile – with earphone, of course, to avoid disturbing the others. In favour of the hotel, I must say that they turned off the sound as soon as I asked to (why didn’t I asked before?). Then all of a sudden we start listening to the birds; a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere was installed.
