The grounds were absolutely stunning. Everywhere you looked there was something beautiful to look at. The pool was amazing, perfect temperature, and pretty clean. The room was also well equipped, especially if you are staying for more than a night or two. The AC in our bedroom was absolutely necessary and much appreciated. The entire staff was thoughtful all smiles.

I know it is location specific and bugs are not entirely avoidable, but we had quite a few ants and some larger bugs that had been smashed on the walls and not cleaned. Our bathroom counter had quite a few ants. Our biggest issue was the ability to get drinks/snacks. Getting cash is so difficult. Being at a hotel where you can use card for your stay but not drinks/snacks is frustrating. We had hoped to sit by the pool and have cocktails,, but needed to save our precious pesos for cab fare and emergencies, as the closest ATMS (>20 min walk) were all out of money. For that reason alone, we would probably consider a different location that offered that amenity even though we loved the Hacienda.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week and we absolutely loved our stay!!! The hotel is small and quaint and it is beautifully decorated. I absolutely fell in love with the wood juxtaposed to the vibrant wall colors and authentic Oaxacan tile. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. The gardens are also stunning. It made me so happy to walk through the grounds each morning. The pool is also perfect - it actually is much larger than it looks in the pictures. The location was perfect for us. It is super close to playa carrizalillo and some of the best restaurants in Playa. We really didn’t have to leave the area to have some of the best food in the area. Rinconada is not a party area but a more mature adult/family area. But still very easy to catch a cab to Zicatela or La Punta. We went surfing several times in La Punta and it was easy to get there. We also want to thank Luis for his hospitality and kindness. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I would absolutely come back to stay here again!

Very peaceful oasis and close to everything. We really enjoyed our 4 day stay.

Improvements would be, earlier pool opening in the morning. 9 am is kind of late. The one pretty big negative is the bathroom door on our suite, unit 13. Ours had a partial door for the bathroom facing the beds, big gap at the bottom and the top. Basically like using the toilet in the middle of a room full of family. Our mother rented another suite and that did have a full door. A family of 4 in two queen beds right next to a exposed toilet was unpleasant, especially if you like street tacos, if you know what I mean. We will stay there again but make sure to get a room with a door on the toilet.

The house was really beautiful and well looked after. Some parts, like the reception area and the breakfast area could be modernised but it doesn’t affect the environment. The location is great for good restaurants and cafés (and a really nice ice cream shop). It’s the quiet part of Puerto Escondido, with 2 small beautiful bays that are at less than 10 min walk from the hotel. The surfers’ area is close by and easy to reach by taxi. If you like walking, you can also do a walk through the beach.

Nothing very important that affects anyone’s stay. The bedroom was super clean and with a nice decor but the fridge and the tray on top ruined the overall look, as it took a lot of space in a small bedroom.

Absolutely gorgeous property with a lovely pool and a lot of lounge area. Walking distance to the beach and some restaurants. Staff was kind and helpful where possible (not all spoke English but we managed to communicate well!). They had beer and margaritas poolside and a very friendly kitty who hung out with us at the pool.

The first room we got did NOT look like the room we booked. We eventually were moved to a different room but the original room we were put in was definitely not what we selected, the bathroom was completely different and tiny, and the pillows were stained. it was a bit difficult to navigate the switch, they did not seem to want to help or offer anything until we involved booking. That said, the new room was lovely.

We absolutely loved our stay at La Hacienda and we would absolutely stay there again ! The room was large and comfortable, with air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. The patio is gorgeous and makes you want to chill there for the whole day (it has a large swimming pool and is filled with beautiful plants and palm trees). The staff was very friendly and helpful, and you can book touristic day-trips for a reasonable price directly at the reception office. Bonus point, the closest beach is a 10 minutes walk away! Merci beaucoup :)

Only tiny negative point: the shower in our room didn't have much pressure at all, which can be annoying if you have very long hair for example.

I really liked the beautiful exceptional details this boutique has everywhere. I turned there to be something to admire, such as flowers that I had never seen before, stone figures, and a great pool. The location is good, just a couple of blocks to restaurants and the Carrizalillo beach.

It's hard to communicate with the owner as his primary language is French. And the bar closes very early at no later than 7:00 pm, but any of the workers can give you a beer of a non mix drink if you see them around. But other than that, everything was GREAT 👍

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy all that Puerto Escondido has to offer. It is located close to restaurants, shops and the best beach of the area. And during the heat of the day there’s a wonderful pool area to cool off. Will definitely return.

If there is one thing that could be improved, it would be the pressure of water in the shower. But a small thing that one adapts too.

Clean, comfortable, charmingly decorated and landscaped. They really keep things up. The pool looked pristinely clean and felt warm, although we were too busy swimming in the ocean to try. 10 minutes’ easy walk from the best swimming beach in Puerto and 5 minutes to a number of low-key restaurants/coffee shops/bars popular with surfers and locals. Very different vibe from the party scene on Zicatela (although also fun, and just 15-20 minutes away by cab). There were plenty of both Mexican and foreign visitors at the hotel.

The pool and courtyard are incredibly beautiful, calm, and relaxing. Our room was comfy and had a lot of local flavor.

The shower was not warm and had about 8 small streams shooting out of it in all directions. One day the maid accidentally locked the door to the bedroom in our suite, but didn’t tell anyone, and when we asked about it they told us they didn’t have the key to that door – I had to pick the lock with a knife.
