Aside from one of the men at the front desk (refer to the above), the rest of the staff were incredible, couldn't do enough for you and the food and drinks on offer were top notch! The nightly entertainment was also much better than we expected. The pools were large and always a good bar nearby! Despite some of the negatives, we would definitely recommend The Fives as there were so many good things about this place, and if we were to return, make sure we were specific with checking the room we were getting was what was advertised.

The room we got was quite outdated and looked nothing like the rooms advertised on booking.com We tried to bring this to the attention of the front desk however we were told rudely they were fully booked so nothing they could do about it. Our king bed room was actually 2 double beds and the room had a musty smell to it. The all day pool chair claiming, often chairs were not used for the entire day despite being "claimed"

The food is amazing - Jimena at La Brassiere is a gem - Roberto at 1910 is the perfect mixologist and teacher of tequila - Emannuel at the 1910 and Mexican bar made sure our birthday drinks were served in style and care. Luis at Arezzo was gracious in serving our needs for our final dinner at the resort. All our servers for each meal were amazing and helped us get our Spanish words correct. We loved all the food at all the restaurants although Mestizo (mexican) for dinner was not our fav so only went there for breakfast (AMAZING) and lunch, snacks. Freddy at the Mangler Bar was great with his drinks and service. The adult pool was great and the Natura restaurant has the most amazing food loved the salmon and nachos - We can't forget our ambassador Roberto and Edgar - helped us lots even if we couldn't get reservations every night for dinner. Loved the entertainment in the plaza and sport court. Beach was as clean as they could get it with the sargassum was alot this year but enjoyed the beach and water.

We had a roof top patio - the top railing bent almost off the wall and I almost fell down the stairs - it was fixed right away the next morning BUT to have the same railing fall completely off the wall and to fall again was not impressive - again it was fixed right away but having a previous knee injury was not fun to deal with. Get rid of the towel card it is pointless since we ended up having 6 towels and 4 towel cards at the same time? Get rid of the reservations for dinner too - most times the restaurants were near empty, when apparently we could NOT get a reservation - I can see booking if you are with a large group to book a reservation. But it is pointless and you can't expect people to eat at 9pm???

the beach itself was not nice with seaweed and we had an incident with spikes on the foot that cost us 150 usd extra on the medical center at the hotel, and there was an extra charge for the beds in the front line of the pool for 100 usd and the first days there weren’t any tequilas included

Let me started with - this review is not sponsored and being written entirely honest from my trip in September 2023 that I paid for myself. The property was very clean, welcoming, and private feeling compared to other resorts. Having the mix of beach and jungle theme was amazing! Private area for adults and separate areas for families was a nice touch to accommodate all types of guests. This resort offered entertainment in the evenings of live music, dancing, and outside vendors. As well as tennis courts, games, and areas to relax and take in the amazing landscaping everywhere. The food was great! No complaints at all! For lunch Breeze Burger, Love Pizza, and Chechen y Chaká spots near the beach and the Natura Day Club restaurant by the adults only pool we’re all equally delicious! For dinner Arezzo - The Italian restaurant was top tier (staff was so so nice!) and the buffet restaurants Flavours and La Brasserie offered tons of varieties! As a whole, for the size of the resort there were so many options for food at most times which was nice. No place ever seemed overpacked! The room itself - I stayed in Villa 19 near the adults only pool and the suite was amazing. Rooms were modern, spacious, and extremely clean! The staff actually went to the extent of hanging a birthday sign and balloons in my room before I arrived which was so kind! I was so pleased with the room that sometimes I even preferred relaxing there instead of going out which should say a lot! - don’t forget to tip your cleaning staff because they truly go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and taken care of. To recap - Besides the minor check-in issue of being charged twice for my prepaid room (it was refunded) my stay was one of the bests I’ve had and I would 100% return. The staff was incredibly kind from the reception, servers, bar tenders, cleaning staff, and villa ambassadors! (Shout out to Alan from villa 19 making sure I had anything I needed)!

- The only issue I really encountered was upon check in the rep charged my card even though my booking was prepaid. The refund process wasn’t the smoothest, I had to follow up a few times and the refund itself took some time (over 10 days) to get back. But I will say, everyone was mostly kind through this process. But if you aren’t on top of your charges, it would have been hard to notice. - The beach wasn’t necessarily beach front, but I don’t mind a short private walk with scenery of the jungle and wildlife! Actually preferred it so not a con at all but wished I knew prior to booking! - Sometimes the restaurant schedules didn’t match what was advertised so there were a couple meals that I struggled finding a place open which was odd.

The pool was great, the room was awesome for a family of five. The facilities were clean and the pools were awesome. The staff were great friendly and helpful. Casa de Rosa experience was worth it.

The drink quality was OK. The food was good, the authentic Mexican food was awesome. The other foods were OK. The buffet should be expanded. The wait times for the restaurants were long and even after you were seated the service was really slow. Beach access was OK, but most of Playa Carmen beaches are not great.

It was very well kept and clean with exceptional pools and beach front!

Food quality could have been better!

The size of the property is perfect because all the visitors are spread out across the pools restaurants etc. so you don’t notice how many people are actually staying at the resort and it doesn’t feel crowded

We didn’t like that some restaurants were closed on random nights without any upfront notice. At least we didn’t get the memo and were disappointed that we didn’t didn’t get to eat in our restaurant of choice the last night.

There were many of places to eat and drink. The resort was big enough to explore but not overwhelmingly big. The staff was incredible. A big shout out to Daniel, Kara, Francisco and Luis. We cannot wait to come back and celebrate our wedding next year!

I was disappointed with some of the smaller restaurants, we had a reservation at the sushi restaurant and it took like 10 mins for someone to even look at us. We then waited as several other couples were seated before us. There were plenty of open tables in the restaurant. Was just odd. But that’s my only complaint

The kids club is amazing and very secure with plenty of activities. There was a team cleaning the beach on daily basis, there was a large number of swimming pools and some for adults only. The buffet was good with thematic nights (oriental, mexican, etc) Very nice staff and entertaining night shows. The jungle space with monkeys, coatis, zarigüeyas..

In the large pools were kids and also groups of adults totally drunk making fuss and swearing, bar tenders should stop giving alcohol to drunk groups. There was not enough chairs for everybody so there was nowhere to lie down if you arrived mid morning. No one helped out to find a place. There was a buffet for lunch and one for dinner and the rest of the restaurants were paid and fully booked.

The property is beautiful and the gardens and spaces are beautifully maintained! Food preparation is world class and the staff serving the food are attentive and helpful. Beds were comfortable and serviced daily to a high standard.

Checked in by the little guest services and found process inefficient. Our room was also not ready and came back twice which not great . Had to change room as was by energy pool and second room was good for us not being in a noisy spot
