We stayed at Aroma for 3 days as part of our honeymoon. It is a lovely, quiet, cheap hotel & the staff are super friendly although they don't speak much English so communication is difficult unless you speak Spanish. The food is great, including the free breakfast & the drinks are good & cheap! The rooms ARE dark, but it is part of the vibe! It is an excellent hotel for the price. You can hire bikes to go to the beach - takes about 15-20 minutes. The bikes aren't the best quality but they work just fine. Be warned that taxis here are crazy expensive so if you plan on going to the beach hotels/restaurants at night then you will be paying about £25-40 (it varies drastically!) each way! so if you're looking to be near the beach then this hotel is not for you. It is in downtown Tulum which is cool & has great cafes/bars/restaurants & the bike hire makes visiting the beach during the day easy & cheap however I would not recommend using them at night as they have no lights. The staff are super friendly & I bought a bottle of tequila for my 30th birthday & they all had shots with me. The taxi/transfer company that the hotel arranged for us from the airport was super great & communication was fab - we are using them again to travel to our next destination. All in all would recommend for a chill downtown Tulum cheap & instagram-able experience!

The only negative we have is that we were not told about the gate locking at 10pm & the key for it, so when we arrived back late one night from a restaurant we had to whatsapp them for the code as we didn't know there was a key to take. I think they just forgot to mention this. Spacious room, very clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.

The shower is great. However, there is no hand shower head which is very convenient when coming back from the beach. There is only one setting - warm water. It's not hot, not cold, just good. But you cannot change the temperature. Whether or not the bycle rent was included in the price of the room was a bit vague. They mention you should add the service to the booking. According to booking it's included (?). They accepted my argument and I didn't had to pay for the bicycles, which is a sign of good service

The room is very spacious and clean. Has enough room to store or hang your clothes and other belongings. the a/c works great as well. Nice bed. They also offer a high quality bleutooth Bose sound speaker in the room which was nice to have! WiFi quality is good on each floor of the building. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Although it's very convenient that they offer bikes for usage / rental, these are too small for adult people making it very uncomfortable to use. Although the shower is spacious, it does not have a handheld shower head to direct the water more specific which is handy after coming back from the beach. They do not offer a hair dryer. Mine (from Europe) didn't work properly on 110V.

The hotel was lovely. The Staff was super helpful and kind. Very trustworthy. We enjoyed our stay and the location is perfect. The breakfast was excellent and fresh. The only thing that was challenging is the room was dark because of the beautiful black walls, so bring your headlamp! We loved staying here. Thank you Aroma Tulum!

The rooms are dark. Even with every light on it was dark because of those beautiful contemporary black walls. Beautiful but bring your headlamp. LOL Honestly the place was awesome. We felt very safe here.

The breakfast very delicious, the staff was very good, the bed and the vives are super good. the cleanliness excellent, is more than I expected I would definitely stay again in aroma. Everything was perfect. I'm happy.

The hotel design is really beautiful. A lot of nice common areas where you can relax. Close to the main street full of nice restaurants.

Watch out for mosquitos, if one get in, it´s impossible to get it in a black-walls room :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Aroma. It was really clean, the beds were very very comfortable and the staff was great! Location was good too. Not on the main street but close. Loved our stay there!

We had trouble getting hot water for showers, but we didn't tell the staff until the last day. So they didn't really have time to fix the issue.

The breakfast was amazing! Huevos Ala Gusto was so good and the pancakes were unbelievable and you must try there mojitos. The staff was so nice and genuine, next time I come to Tulum I am definitely staying there.

The plumbing in the bathroom wasn't the greatest and in the smaller room there were no mirrors except for the one in the bathroom which wasn't enough to get ready. There was actually one outside the room so we used that a lot. Those were very minor things compared to how good it was.

Breakfast was great, it could definitely offer a little more variety
