It isn't a 5 star hotel, and I was prepared for that, but if you're expecting luxury you're going to be disappointed. If you arrive expecting a unique experience then you will enjoy it. It's situated a decent way out of town but in a peaceful garden area full of iguanas and butterflies. The building is beautiful and our presidential suite was one of the most quirky places I've ever stayed. The kids 10 & 12 loved it. The hotel does feel like it's a good few years past it's glory days and a bit tired but for the price you pay I think it's reasonable. Izamal is a beautiful town, we visited in the late afternoon sun and the colours were stunning. We ate at Kinich restaurant (excellent). We walked up pyramid Kinich before breakfast at 8am which was also highly recommend (it's free and we had it to ourselves and it's one of the tallest Mayan ruins). Breakfast at the hotel was average, fruit, egg options and juice.

Don't come here expecting luxury and you'll enjoy it.

Impressive main building and wonderful outdoor spaces, a great Hacienda worth visiting. The staff was friendly and the room and common spaces very clean. Huge room and bathroom! There is a restaurant open all day, quite convenient since the hotel is 6km from the town of Izamal. If you do not have a car, the hotel staff can arrange for a taxi to come and pick you up. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxation.

The amenities are definitely not of a 5-star hotel, as booking.com suggests, so one can get dissaponted. Not that we needed it, but there was no TV in the room, no hairdryer, no curtains (we woke up very early). The rooms, although clean and very spacious with high ceilings, they have only the basic furniture and no extra storage or shelves. The hotel, both room (air conditioner and windows looked old and dirty) and gardens looks slightly ignored and worn out. We would revisit, due to the beauty of the place, but knowing that this is not a 5-star hotel.

This is a gorgeous place to stay, a very intimate and friendly experience almost like you are an honored guest in a fine home. The front verandah, where you have breakfast, is to die for, and the pool is a work of art. Guest rooms and baths have wonderful atmosphere, perfect cleanliness, and are excellent all round. Some reviewers have complained about the showers, but whatever the problem was there, it has been fixed because they are the best ever. The peaceful location is 5 minutes outside Izamal on a straight, decent road that's a breeze to drive day or night.

As of December 2023, the dinner menu is unimaginative and the evening dining experience is disappointing. There is so much potential here--great atmosphere, great staff, built-in clientele of the types of travelers who would appreciate something other than standard fare. It's a lost opportunity for Hacienda Sacnicte. Another smaller issue is that in rainy weather, the paths from the main building to the parking area are awash and difficult for guests with luggage--such an easy thing to fix, but it hasn't been done yet.

Nice old hacienda with a lovely veranda in front of the pool. We stayed in an amazing room (sunflower suite) with 20ft ceilings and lovely shower room with hot water. The standard breakfasts were good (could supplement - paid) and the staff were very helpful. We only eat supper once (had well made burgers)

Some small items of rubbish uncollected in the field near the car park. Slightly better coffee would improve the breakfast

The place is located in the middle of the jungle, beatiful building, sorrounded with big trees and palms, and some exotic animals like iguanas and some reptil like the jurassic times. Amazing views, sunset, and a lot of jungle to explore. The room excelent with a big shower and comfortable with conditioner air and all the facilities needed to a pleasure stay, wifi, no TV, what is fantastic, no needed

Everything was fine, not found anything to improve, maybe the mosquitos, but by the season there was not a big problem for us, the room was prepared, just that some that comes by floor were able to enter the room. not big problem, but the black butterflies.

This well-renovated hacienda is just a few minutes away from Izamal, making it the perfect place to stay. The limited number of rooms makes it quiet, even with full occupancy. The staff is very friendly, and everything is clean. The included breakfast options are perfect for starting the day. I would stay there again without a doubt.

I would love to see more regional Yucatan cuisine on the dinner menu. However, Izamal is just a few minutes away and offers various dining choices worth exploring.

Terrific atmosphere and design qualities. A ruined hacienda has been transformed into a real gem - feels like a combination of an old home in Fez and a palace in Sintra. And all this close to the special attractions of Izamal and major Mayan sites.

Dining could be higher quality, on the other hand, the hotel is catering to a small group of clients at any one time.

Amazing rooms and staff. Food and as also great.

We had to park away from the rooms in torrential downpour rain and I was left to take a family’s bag through puddles to the rooms 50 m away. They ought to have a list of local activities at reception. We had an amazing two days discovering this part of Mexico but some decent advice from the hotel would have been v useful.
