The property is brand new and doesn’t have a lot of reviews, however, oh my! This secluded paradise is one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed in. everything, from booking the room to the communication with the owners and arrival was easy and professional. once there we met Elisa who shared with us the family dream that is Galopina. She showed us around the property: the main house, the pool and the guest house with four rooms. The architecture and the design are very beautiful and the entire mood of the place is all about serenity, calmness and peace. I believe they brand their project as #slowliving and I confirm, the time stops when you are at Galopina. I highly recommend dinning at Galopina, Elisa is not only the owner but also a very talented chef! I hope to come back soon!

We stayed at Galopina for one week and this was probably the most amazing and wonderful time we have had in the many countries we visited in the last years. Elisa, Guillaume and the two kids are running this place with so much heart, personal attitude and engagement that it is hardly impossible to describe. Being guests we felt like being part of the family or visiting friends. Everything is of high quality, the food, the deco, the towels, beds, garden etc etc. If you are looking for a small and silent place (no TV ;-) in the middle of nature with the maximum of personal atmosphere, this is it! It could not be better and we will for sure return.

Galopina is a hidden gem located in the countryside 45 minutes from Merida. The property itself is an architectural dream surrounded by nature. Throughout the property & grounds, every detail has been thoughtfully curated. We were welcomed with warmth by Elisa, Guillaume & staff, who tended to all our needs with a smile. Elisa's delicious home-cooked meals were a treat at the end of the day. The grounds are alive with a lush variety of plants & trees. The majestic Toh bird & a hummingbird visited our bedroom daily. There are walking trails on the property & many cenotes within a short drive. You could easily base yourself at Galopina & spend a week or two exploring the Yucatan peninsula. Unplug and unwind in a stunning setting at Galopina. If you do need to work or are a remote worker, Galopina offers high-speed internet and a garden view from your desk. You won‘t believe how perfect it is, until you get there: Hidden in a lush and peacefully quiet jungle outside of Merida lies Galopina – a place to rest and reset. The architecture and interior design & decoration is stunning, perfectly balanced and evokes a calming mood throughout the entire place. And the two owners, Elisa and Guillaume, are there for your every need: With delicious and local cooking from breakfast to dinner, or tips for exploring untouristic cenotes and other sights. That is, if you ever want to leave the place at all! We found it hard to do so, and even harder to leave, and will be back for sure. A truly amazing and unique experience, that merits nothing but 5 stars.

Galopina is a calm and tranquil place. Very well planned, beautiful minimalistic interior design. Everything was aesthetically pleasing. My stress levels decreased in only a few days. Surrounded by nature, it was perfect. Breakfast was good and - this I’ve noticed is not to be taken for granted in Mexico - they serve good coffee. They also serve delicious dinner. It’s possible to eat outside, which is nice for someone like us from the Nordics. Staff is friendly. Their dogs are awesome, as well. I’ve travelled almost 50 countries and stayed in numerous places but I truly think that the owners of Galopina have created something special.

If I really have to think of something I would have appreciated a coffee maker in the room (due to waking up early because of jet lag and being used to having coffee the very first thing in the morning).

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Great place to relax , the owners are extremely friendly and the food is amazing. The rooms are spacious and well designed. It truly exceeded my expectations. Recommend when visiting the peninsula de yucatan. About an hour drive from Merida Airport .

All areas are nicely decorated, the room was spacious and very beautiful, with a charming patio. incredible, cosy pool and delicious home made breakfast. It’s the perfect place to disconnect in the calm, but also visit the region thanks to hosts precious advices.

Very secluded far away from the city. If you want to reset your mind that is the place. Surrounded by nature, unbelievable stargazing at night.

Getting there may not be the easiest

Brand new property, perfect location and very friendly to non-Spanish speakers. Highly recommended, we very much enjoyed the stay.

The place is sublime, Elisa's cooking is delicious and refined. We felt at home. Thank you for your hospitality.
