Staying at this riad was truly a unique experience. The stunning architecture, reminiscent of an old yacht, added a special charm. Our suite was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a balcony offering breathtaking ocean views - an absolute highlight. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The strong smell in the street leading to the hotel was unpleasant, and the early morning prayers, projected straight into the riad, were quite disruptive. While music in the evenings from the nearby bar was noticeable, it was less intrusive in comparison.

Beautiful place, confortable, great rooftop and view. wonderful helpful staff. Nice simple breakfast.

It was noisy from the bar Taros every night until about 2-3am. You could feel the music and banging on the walls from the bar. Unfortunately this meant we did not sleep very well, and also during the day it was difficult to nap as there was also noise from cleaning and staff. If you like you sleep consider ear plugs as it was very restless during our 5 day stay. We considered moving as it was difficult to sleep at night and even try catch up in rest during the day. It was a nice place and good value, just maybe not for everyone.

I loved the location with respect to the ocean, and the beautiful rooftop to watch the sunset. The staff was very attentive and relaxed. I liked that they serve the breakfast in the upper terrace, which I thought was GREAT to drink my morning coffee with such a great view!.

The hallway towards the entrance to the hotel's door is dark and it smells putrid, like people have been pissing on the walls for many centuries. Maybe this is not the hotel's fault, but it would be great to coordinate with nearby hotels to keep it clean. One of the walls is adjacent to a pub and they had strong live music. We couldn't sleep till midnight due to the band playing at full volume. I also didn't like having to knock to get in at nights. It'd be better to get some keys, but this is minimal.

Fantastic location, right at the entrance to the medina, so it was a very short walk from the city parking lot, and right next to the ocean, so we had a great view watching the sunset and a nice breeze. I met up with friends for two nights, so we splurged on the split level suite with rooftop terrace and an absolutely luxurious bathroom. I decided to stay on for longer, and I honestly would have paid by myself for that suite if it hadn't been booked out already. I moved to another room and then again decided to extend my stay, but they were fully booked, but Abdullah, the manager, left a message with the evening personnel to let me know he had a cancellation, so I could stay even longer, which was amazing. I'm traveling with a cat, and everybody welcomed her with open arms and was very conscientious of her being in the room - or at the window looking into the inner courtyard, haha!

Beautifully decorated space, lovely rooftop terrace, incredible breakfast. Really nice to relax in during the day. Great location close to everything in Essaouira, easy 10 minute walk to the bus station. Very friendly staff, we felt well taken care of and would stay again despite some minor negatives which are largely out of the hotels hands.

Down a dodgy alley can be a bit daunting to walk down at night. The music from the bar next door is really significant and you would absolutely struggle without ear plugs. We were absolutely fine with good ear plugs. Room a little musty smelling.

Dar Loulema is a lovely and beautiful riad with view on the sea on the rooftop. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and it looks exactly like on the pictures. Staff were nice and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and generous (it literally fed me for the day) and there is a nice terrace on the third and fourth floor to relax and sunbath.

I have nothing bad to say about Dar Loulema. It is worth mentioning though that the riad is nearby a roof top cocktail bar so it can get a bit noisy at night and might disturb early sleepers. I was so tired of my days that it did not personally bother me. Furthermore, it seems to be pretty common in most of Morocco’s touristy cities. 😅

The riad was right in the center, yet very quiet. Unlike most riads, which are usually small, this one was quite spacious — and you can really feel the difference. The concept and design of the riad are beautiful. The room we stayed in was large and very cool. The terrace is amazing, and you can even enjoy an ocean view from there. The staff were always friendly and ready to help. We truly loved our stay! ♥️

Beautiful riad with plants in the courtyard. Spacious room and bathroom. We enjoyed the breakfast on the rooftop and the great location! Would go again!

Finding the riad was not straightforward as we had to go through a badly light passage under the houses of the medina which unfortunately smelled so bad we held our breaths. Once inside the riad, it was a completely different world: bright, beautiful, clean!

The location is superb, and the staff is wonderful. The breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the large, comfortable Belem apartment on the top floor, which was very spacious. The breakfast on the rooftop was magnificent.

You hear the seagulls and cats on the roof of the second floor room. You get used to it after a while, and it's actually kinda nice.

The location is perfect—close to the city parking, restaurants, shopping and just a short walk to the beach. The room was clean, and comfortable, with a cozy Moroccan feel. The staff was very friendly. The rooftop terrace was a peaceful spot to relax with amazing views, sunset and sunrise.

There was some loud music from a nearby restaurant in the evening, which could be a bit distracting if you're sensitive to noise. Despite that, the overall experience was fantastic.
