I was fortunate to be staying Hotel Mechour Plaza for my birthday, and the lovely, friendly staff made sure that my stay was made into a wonderful memory. On my arrival, I was greeted at reception and surprisingly given a free room upgrade and a birthday 🎂 cake was waiting in my room 🫶💞. The location is perfect for beach ⛱️, medina 🛍, and harbour 🎣. The beach is windy, as you might expect, being popular with windsurfers and surfers 🏄‍♂️ There are many attractions that are payable locally from desert treks by camel 🐫 to days out in the local area or mountains. I particularly liked the artisan crafts and art galleries that I discovered on my walks around.

It is not advised for solo travellers to be out alone after dark, especially in certain areas. The litter is a problem both in the town and on the beach.

A pleasant, comfortable stay and in my opinion the city is one of the best I have seen of many cities so far in Morocco. Nothing to fault about the hotel itself, the receptionists and the waiter who served breakfast (which was delicious to have) were welcoming and pleasant. The only thing that I personally found to be (slightly) disturbing was the "clock tower year 1912" which rang out of sync with the times at all times of the day. Clean and comfortable hotel in the best possible location, steps outside the entrance to the medina. There is a lovely patio out front where one can have a coffee or alcoholic drink. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, especially Ayoub, Abdul, and Amina.

There is an office on the first floor where the owner and his friends would talk loudly with the door open at 11:30 at night. This hotel has no noise insulation and sounds easily penetrate the rooms. I told him to respect his clients wishes to sleep. He complied.

Really nice hotel with good-sized rooms which are very clean and beautifully decorated. Rooms in addition to the bed, have sofas, and plenty of storage. Breakfast is fixed but very good with Orange juice, tea/coffee, omelette, crepe.. The location is excellent near the square.

The only minor negative is that the associated restaurant/bar has live music until midnight, which protrudes into the rooms on the first floor. However, we were advised of this and offered a room on the third floor.

Excellent location. Can’t beat it. Stayed for 3 nights and overall happy with it. Staff were very very helpful and breakfast was good. Cleaning staff were on point as well.

2 single beds put together to make a double bed which we didn’t particularly enjoy also the room had no fridge. Biggest issue was the toilet - no ventilation and sink drainage was very slow. Shower head mouldy. Despite all of this we would still come back due to location and start

The breakfast was delicious and good coffee. The location of the hotel is right in the middle of everything. Very little walking distance to the main sights. The staff were very friendly, the room had a TV with youtube and it was also spacious.

The bar in the hotel was incredibly expensive but many places the alcohol is. But if you go to local off licences you can get drinks for reasonable prices.

Amazing hotel! The comfiest beds we have stayed in so far, the staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel was always spotless even though there are still some slight construction works still going on throughout the day. The restaurant below is very stylish and has beautiful decor with very elegant and good food at a reasonable price. And wine! Breakfast was different every day and served in the downstairs restaurant, always with fresh juice, breads, and fresh tea or coffee and a different selection of cakes, omelettes and crepes. To top it off the shower was absolutely amazing! And the maids came and replaced towels, toilet roll and made the bed daily. The location was perfect, right on the main street of the Medina, so no worries about getting lost, next to great food options and shops and close to the pharmacy. Will definitely be staying again if we come to Essioura. Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable while we were sick!

Nothing to dislike ☺️

I don't understand how anyone could write negative reviews about this hotel. Location 10/10 you walk out of the hotel and you are in the main street of the medina, 5 minutes walk to the beach, 3 minutes to the taxi stand, 10 minutes to the bus station. There is always something going on on the street opposite the hotel, there is always someone playing or singing, you have free entertainment, especially if you take a room with a balcony overlooking the street (I recommend paying a few euros more for such a room) you sit with tea on the balcony and listen and watch musicians, something beautiful. Rooms: I recommend paying more for the one overlooking the main street, they are cleaned daily, they have everything a European could want, plenty of sockets for chargers, tv with the ability to log in to netflix, I used it only once, there was too much to see to watch tv. The hotel has a beautiful and modern restaurant. Service: extremely nice, friendly, kind and helpful people! Greetings to Abdel 😁😁

Rooms were clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. The hotel was located within the medina which we enjoyed. Staff were happy and polite and happy to help. Breakfast was basic but enough to keep us going until a late lunch.

It didn’t bother us but the bar plays live music at night and this can be heard in the rooms.

Convenient to the pick up and drop off location. Convenient to all of the Medina. Property was clean. The staff was friendly and showed real interest in our safety when making sure we were getting with the correct transfer driver.

Only one thing. It’s more a room design issue than anything else. Our bathroom did not have ventilation. Therefore, any warm shower of any length caused the whole bathroom to sweat. We had water everywhere. After the first shower, we kept the door open to assist with ventilation. Otherwise, everything was great.
