I did get this accommodation at a special price, which certainly made it value for money, and I'm not sure about the full price. The Palais' position in the Medina, quite close to the Blue Gate, made for an excellent location, although not so easy to find in the first instance. The room was large and the bed to my liking. I was very comfortable. The pool was a wonderful place to pass a couple of hours in the heat of the afternoon. It was calm and quiet, a place of real respite after spending the morning exploring the Medina and some of the more important sites. The staff were lovely, kind and helpful, and the food was generally good.

This hotel was a life saver. We arrived in Fes when Morocco was having a major heatwave. Palais Shazam was a beautiful oasis. The staff are really sweet and helpful. We ate every night at the restaurant and food was good and reasonable priced. The room and bathroom were big and aircon worked well. Breakfast was good, and the location is amazing, right in the medina but backs onto a car park, so very easy to get to from the car park. The taxi dropped us outside the car park and 2 minutes later we were at Palais Shazam.

We had an amazing time at Palais Shazam Spa. The location is perfect – right on the edge of the medina, so you’re close to everything without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the Blue Gate, one of the main entrances to the old city. The staff (Ibrahim & Mohammed) were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with advice or assistance. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable – a great place to relax after a full day exploring Fes. All in all, a fantastic place to stay – highly recommended!

Amazing riad with a beautiful, well-decorated courtyard and a refreshing pool. The location was close to a car park and made it easy to find as well as being close to the main medina street and all the attractions. Breakfast was provided fresh daily. The food and drinks available for lunches and dinners were tasty and good value for money. The hammam and the spa are a great addition to the place and nice to have after a long day of walking around the city. What makes this place even more special is the staff who helped us when we had an issue with our room, were always available to chat, provide tips, and book any restaurants for meals. Special thanks to Mohammed, Hassan, and Hamid, who were exceptional and made our stay in Fez better than expected. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fez.

Some of the rooms were dated, including furniture, mattresses, and bathroom, but when talking to the staff, they explained they are in the process of renovating the rooms and have already renovated some recently, which looked stunning. I am sure this place will become even better soon.

Beautiful and comfortable place, the staff has been super friendly and it was a pleasure to chat with them. Everything was perfect from top to bottom! The location is great, just a couple minutes walk from the parking lot (there's also a direct door to the parking but we still went through the medina). It's very convenient to be close to the east entrance to the medina, as it's also where shops and restaurants are opened the whole evening, when downtown starts closing.

The riad's garden and entrance were beautifully designed in a traditional style, offering a peaceful spot to relax for hours. We booked a triple room, which was of average size, though the bedroom area felt a bit small (not a major issue). While the hotel had an older charm, it was lovely overall, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. By the way, the hotel is located near a parking area, which is why I chose it—so I wouldn’t spend hours searching for it in the streets of Fez Medina.

In rooms in Morocco, slippers are not provided (and the ones that were provided had been used). The bathroom was a bit old, but that wasn’t a big issue either.

We had a fantastic stay in this riad, thanks to its perfect location right in the heart of the Medina! The blend of traditional and modern design gives the place a unique charm, especially when it’s beautifully lit up at night. The swimming pool area was a wonderful bonus, offering a peaceful retreat, particularly during the hot days. Our room was lovely, and we appreciated the stylish decor. A special mention to Hassan and Hamed, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home and shared valuable tips about exploring the city. We truly enjoyed our time here!

Everything was great!

Amazing staff. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Exceptional service. The location is in the heart of the medina, but is very quiet and it feels like an oasis when you enter the courtyard of the riad. Breakfast is very good and we had dinner there one evening, which was delicious. I cannot say enough about the staff. They are a great group of people who truly make the stay enjoyable.

Some of the facilities could use a little refresh.

Everything is at that location. The spa was amazing The lady took such great care of us and we felt so pampered. My hair and skin has never been the same since just so much improved. And the guys that are overseeing you as soon as you walk in the door are so kind so thoughtful. They worked really hard at making sure you’re comfortable and safe. I got really sick from food poisoning and they took really good care of me. Highly recommend and hope to return one day.

Nothing every thing was perfect

Had an amazing stay at Palais Shazam. Hamid, who was one of the hosts, was excellent and really helpful and made sure our stay was very comfortable right from the start. The Lounge area by the swimming pool was amazing and great to just sit and relax. The Food, Room service and everything else was great. They also helped us arrange a private transfer for our onwards journey. Highly recommended!!
