Riad Layalina in Fes is truly something special—an absolute gem. Staying here feels like living in a beautifully preserved museum, with a blend of colonial and traditional Moroccan charm. The Riad is French-owned and exquisitely maintained, offering a unique atmosphere that’s both elegant and welcoming. With only a few rooms, it feels very intimate and family-friendly. The staff is kind, helpful, and attentive to individual needs. The rooftop terrace is stunning, with extraordinary views over Fes, and the entire property is spotlessly clean and peaceful. Breakfast is excellent, and they are happy to accommodate special requests. A truly memorable experience in a Riad full of character and beauty.

We were a little surprised they charged extra for water bottles.

This was our favourite hotel in Morocco. From the moment we walked in the door from a very long journey, we felt a home. Our host gave us a warm welcome with tea, water and biscuits. We were pleased also to be welcomed by their adorable little dog. Nothing was an issue and they helped us booking a delicious authentic Moroccan meal at a nearby restaurant. Also booked a guided walking tour with Moundire, what a positive and enthusiastic guide, felt like we were spending an afternoon with an old friend. if you come to Fes we highly recommend you request Moundire for a guided tour. The hotel and rooms were lovely, we definitely felt like we’d arrived in Morroco. The breakfast was outstanding!! A delicious feast to start your day. Parking is right across the road, making it easy to get luggage to the hotel and everything is an easy walk. This beautiful family take hospitality to the next level. If you come to Fes you must stay here!

Nothing. It was absolutely perfect

Old, very beautiful riad renovated and decorated with a good taste. it has excellent location, especially if you arrive with a car or with big suitcases. cars are not allowed in Medina and you don’t want to push your luckage through the labyrinth. Best of all, friendly service and excellent Moroccan food, thanks to Esme and her team. A strong recommendation !

There was a garden construction near by and they started early..

Stayed here for two nights. The Riad itself is incredibly beautiful, everything is spotlessly clean and features Moroccan tile work, fabrics, carpets and carving. It feels like you are living in a palace. The view over the Medina from the rooftop terraces is spectacular. Everything in the Medina is within easy walking distance, yet inside the Riad all is peace and serenity. The included breakfast is out of this world, and the staff is kind, attentive to every need, and yet never intrusive. We loved every minute of our stay. One caveat is that like in most buildings inside the Medina, the stairs are quite steep and may be difficult for people with mobility issues to navigate. This is truly the only potential issue, all other modern conveniences such as WiFi, running hot water, and in room climate control have been provided while maintaining the historical look of the rooms to the greatest extend possible. Can highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

The warmest of Moroccan welcomes greeted us, though we were 2 hot and dusty travellers on our motorbike.. Our room was spacious, soft, and comfortable, with all the best facilities, the public areas an oasis of calm. With secure parking for the motorbike, just off the main road and a short walk to the City Centre the Riad was perfect in every way for us. Our breakfast, taken on the shaded terrace was exceptional. We would happily return and highly recommend.

The staff, Ridwan and Asma were absolutely AMAZING hosts. Ridwan was super welcoming to me and my parents with Moroccan mint tea and cookies. Hands down, the best meal we have had in Fes. I highly recommend staying in the riad and enjoying a meal from Asma. Breakfast was lovely too. The property itself is beautifully tiled with mosaic designs, the pool is a very cute addition. The rooftop has a cool view of Fes too.

Amazingly beautiful riad, with a lovely view over the Medina. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and accommodating. We drove with our own car and could not recommend this riad more if in the same situation, as you cannot get any closer into the Medina with a car and their parking is great, very secure and private.

I absolutely loved this place, Riad Layalina is an oasis on the very edge of the medina right by the blue gate. My room was beautiful with a fantastic view of the medina and surroundings. Fantastic architecture and interior, wherever you look you are surrounded by beautiful things. the furniture belongs in a museum. Asma is a wonderful host and she can do magical things with a chicken, without exagération I think it was the most delicious chicken I've ever had. If she wasn't already married I would have probably proposed right there and then:) Anez was also very helpful with any question I had or help I needed. I was able to park my car in their private lot which was a relief especially after visiting other riads where this was considerably more complicated.

After 2 weeks of traveling in Morocco I can confidently say this was the best riad I stayed at throughout my trip! The riad is so stunning, visually beautiful and such a calm and lovely place. I enjoyed my time so much relaxing by the pool reading on the sofa, or enjoying the terrace for breakfast and dinner. The staff was so incredibly kind and hospitable- so warm and welcoming right from the start and always checking in with smiles on their faces. The last morning of my stay I had to leave extra early and the staff woke up early to make me a mini breakfast and coffee so that I wouldn't leave with an empty stomach! I am so appreciative of that. Everyone at this riad truly made me feel like I was at home, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you all for everything and for your kindness. I will tell everybody to stay here!

From the minute you walk through the door, you are treated like family! Wonderful experience! The breakfast was delicious and filling to get you started for the day. We choose to eat some dinners at the riad as well and they were equally delicious and fresh (lemon chicken tajine and kefta tajine). The location could not be beat as it was a short walk to all parts of the medina.

No complaints! Excellent across the board.
