The Ryad is perfectly situated right next to the Bahia Palace and conveniently close to El Badi, the Saadian tombs and the newly opened MAP museum - each a must see in Marrakech. As you step through the narrow gate, you are greeted by an oasis of tranquility and exquisite Moroccan style decor, where every detail has been thoughtfully selected by our gracious host, Michelle. The rooms on the first floor are spacious and beautifully adorned with local furniture, artwork, and upholstery. The beds are large and super comfortable, featuring luxurious linen bedding. Michelle warmly welcomed us with tea and provided invaluable guidance, tips, and a map that became my trusty companion throughout our stay, filled with plenty of spots to visit and restaurants recommendations. The staff, especially Hicham and Nawal, are dedicated to ensuring your well being and are always ready to assist. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Hicham who shared insights into Moroccan history. Breakfast was a delightful start of the day with fresh fruit salad, orange juice, and a wid selection of eggs, French toast (best ever tasted) and breads. In the late afternoon, we enjoyed complimentary tea and cake on the rooftop. What truly made our stay special was our interaction with Michelle, who offered countless pieces of advice, suggestions and ideas to enhance our time in Marrakech. She was incredibly attentive to our needs and we were always captivated by her amazing stories about the Ryad and her 20 years of experience in Marrakech. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and wholeheartedly recommend this Ryad to anyone looking to experience the charm of Marrakech in the medina.

We had such a lovely stay at Riad Assakina. The location was perfect – less than ten minutes to the main square, and the walk there is an experience in itself, full of life, street food, market stalls, and loads of atmosphere. The Rhiad itself was beautifully restored by the current owners (they have a photo book of the before and after) and it felt like a real haven to come back to after a day exploring the city. We had a beautiful room on the ground floor with high ceilings. The furniture was really tasteful and the bed was so comfy. The breakfast was fruit to start and a basket of breads and jams with a choice of eggs, pancakes and teas and coffees. I was stuffed and it sets you up for the day. We were also treated to complimentary mint tea and cakes, which was such a nice touch after a day of sightseeing. Like coming home to your grandma's and being looked after! Grant and Michele, were absolutely amazing – full of great advice, and always happy to help with anything from booking taxis to recommending places to eat. On the first evening we had a restaurant booked for us and one of their lovely staff walked us to the square to show us where it was. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay – would 100% recommend and I would love to go back.

It was all great. Can't think of anything other than I wish I had stayed longer than 3 nights. Maybe a trip to the mountains or coast.

This is not just a hotel; it’s so much more—it’s a home away from home. With only a few rooms, the atmosphere is intimate, allowing guests to connect with the staff and even mingle with fellow travellers if they choose. Breakfast was excellent—simple yet delicious, with options to keep us satisfied for the day ahead. The riad exceeded our expectations in every way. From arranging airport transfers to greeting us with afternoon tea and cake, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The location was perfect, the rooms were individually and tastefully decorated, and everything was immaculately clean. Our stay at Riad Assakina was nothing short of fantastic. We are already planning a return trip If you're looking for a warm, welcoming, and truly special place to stay in Marrakesh, look no further!

Kindness of the personnel, always ready to help and give advice, much appreciated!!! Good breakfast and afternoon tea which we could also have in the evening, much appreciated. Appreciated the upgrade of the room. Being a couple of days the only guests in the riad, we were very happy to see also other guests arriving:-).

Personally I am not such a fan of cats in accommodations. My daughter on the contrary liked the cats a lot. As already indicated, the free airport transfer mentioned on booking.com did not appear to be true, you should update your data on booking to avoid these kind of surprises after confirming the booking.

Riad Assakina is the perfect oasis hidden among the crazy streets of the Marrakesh Medina. It is situated in the Jewish quarter ( Mellah) and walkable to the crazy main square and souks. Return from a busy day to a quiet haven. Sip mint tea ( or a bevvy) , nibble a sweet homemade something for afternoon tea. Yummy breakfasts on the terrace. Michele and Grant were the perfect hosts. Every detail given considerable thought with wonderfully attentive staff and impeccable taste in decoration. We only wished we could have stayed longer and will highly recommend for anyone travelling to Marrakesh.

Exceptional support from the owner, Michelle, who helped to organise us after a busy few days before we arrived. A real refuge from the hustle & bustle of the Medina. Great care & attention from the team who did everything to make our stay memorable. Characterful & carefully re-designed riad with space for all guests to enjoy the facilities. Grant and Michelle were excellent in helping us prepare for the trip, giving us tips, and helping us with last-minute requests in their Riad. The team is amazing, and you have a different experience while staying there. You interact with other guests and feel that your accommodation is much more than a place to sleep and leave your luggage. The place is outstanding and has been created with so many details, as the owners care about it!

Wonderful stay! Grant and Michele are very devoted to creating the most comfortable and enjoyable guest experience. From a delightful breakfast to a list of recommendations to transportation arrangements to a daily coffee and cake break, they make you feel like (well loved) family. Beds very comfortable and room clean. I would be a little careful walking home past 10 if you’re a solo traveller and opt for a taxi instead.

We loved our stay at Riad Assakina. We booked to stay in the suite which was a huge room, with a really comfortable, large bed. The attention to detail from the design / decoration to the helpful add ons to enhance your holiday (hair dryer, canvas bag for shopping to save on all the plastic bags given out at the souks) make this Riad a really special place to stay. The team at Riad Assakina is fantastic and it really feels like they want to make sure you have the best possible trip in Marrakech. The communication from the moment of booking was excellent and informative and the check-in was perfect - providing lots of information of the area, places to eat etc. The team at Riad Assakina also have an amazing guide book in your room which provides tons of really helpful information about Marrakech, shopping, tours, places to eat and drink which we referred to regularly during our stay. The team truly go above and beyond and this really helps make this wonderful stay a really sublime stay. We would highly recommend Riad Assakina to anyone visiting Marrakech!

Nothing - it was all perfect!

5 star treatment! Great location as it is on a thoroughfare for taxi drop off as it is just inside the Medina wall (anything in the centre is not accessible by taxi). This Riad has been recently renovated and oozes charm and love. Felt really safe for lone travellers. The included breakfast is fresh and plentiful, with an added surprise of afternoon tea and cakes on the sun drenched terrace if you can tear yourself away from the Souks! The staff are attentive but not intrusive. Michele (the owner) is always on hand to given recommendations or help book trips or restaurants.
