We stayed in a triple room. Although the space was a bit tight, the mattresses were comfortable, and the bed linens were clean. Towels were changed regularly. Our room was on the ground floor, so we didn't face any issues with the steep stairs that some other guests had mentioned. The room was equipped with a kettle, microwave, hairdryer, and TV. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main attractions, yet it is situated on a relatively quiet street. The staff was very friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The price-quality ratio is reasonable, making this hotel a great choice for those who want to explore the city and need a place just to sleep at night!

Unfortunately, there wasn't a small table to sit at and enjoy a cup of coffee. There were also no dishes or glasses provided. Additionally, we noticed that the floors, shelves, and shower head could have been cleaned more thoroughly. In the bathroom, there was no place to hang clothes, and there was only one towel rack, even though the room was for three people. There was also no space for suitcases, but since we only had a couple of backpacks, this wasn't a problem for us.

We stayed at Hotel Kap City Centre for a couple of nights in August. First, the stairs are indeed quite steep – something to be aware of – but I honestly think this is part of the authentic Amsterdam experience. If you want to stay right in the center and truly enjoy the city, this is the perfect spot! Excellent location: just a short 200-meter walk to tram and metro stations, making it super easy to get anywhere. You can also reach the city center on foot without any trouble. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant, even in the evening, and there’s a lovely breakfast spot and a supermarket just around the corner. The owners are absolutely wonderful – always kind, checking in to make sure everything is going well, and quick to respond to messages. They’re happy to have a friendly chat too, which makes you feel really welcome. If you’re looking for a convenient, authentic, and warm place to stay in Amsterdam, I recommend Hotel Kap. And as for those famous Dutch stairs – just think of them as a free daily workout!

The owner was very nice and helpful close to everything about a 15 20min walk to center and lots of bars and restraunts close by also tram and metro right around corner beds were comfortable we booked a standard twin room and was just perfect for two of us bathroom gets very wet after a shower but nice and hot we had a fridge fan and hairdryer and u have one big drawer for ur clothes and a big window with a old fashioned balcony so was great to have fresh air we had a tv but it wasn't working so bring some kind of chromecast and use ur own Internet as we couldn't connect to WiFi we were on very top floor so maybe this was the problem he did say it was broken and was trying to get it fixed and tvs the stairs would have u out of breath but we were on the top so u would expect that with these buildings and the steps are tiny so its a bit dodgy coming back down we always laughed made it fun for us good for a two to three day stay if ur not looking for anyting special it was alot better then we thought it was going to be and we had a great stay no problems you can come and go as u please all night

We were 3people and therefore booked room for three adults but the room was good enough for 4 adults. It had 2 single beds and one sofa cum bed which was comfortable and good for 2 people. One station away from central station and one station away from Rai exhibition . Owner was polite and gave all information abt the area. Supermarket and lot of restaurants nearby. Room had kettle and small refrigerator. Must have your own coffee or tea bags. Good budget hotel in convenient location.

The stairs as we were on 2nd floor but this is very common in Amsterdam.

The hotel is in a great location. Quiet, but in the same time close to city center, close to tram and metro. I received bigger room then booked as it was available which was very nice. You have to be aware that it's in an old building so there are steep stairs and no elevator. It's in the description so don't act surprised. The room has a small refrigerator which was helpful.

Maybe this or that could be better, but the price is fair and the description as well. So I don't complain, because I knew what I was booking.

This hotel is very near to metro station just other side of the road.near the tow famous museum just walking distance other side of the street Heineken Brewery.nearby store and many restaurants around.if you stay there remember to have your own coffee or tea as there is kettle to make your own coffee and tea and remember your sleeper 🙃

It was nothing that I didn’t like about but maybe stairs is little narrow if you have heavy luggage .for me was okay.and check out time was so early at 11.00 I had flight at 19,00 .as this hotel have checking time at 15.00 it would be nice to check timing by 14.00

To be honest, when I read the reviews I was a bit in doubt whether to book this accommodation or not. But then I saw that people were mainly complaining about the stairs (fair - but that’s quite common in Amsterdam). Overall, I have to say, my experience was really positive: the room was spacious and clean, staff amazing and super helpful and responsive - we had all we needed for our 2 nights stay. Would definitely come back!

The location of this place is amazing , there are a few reviews on here that made us feel sceptical in booking but turns out we enjoyed the hotel alot. It’s near the bike rental place , tons of food places and tram lines. Also near the metro station , walking into city centre is however 30 mins ish but taking a tram is only less than 10mins. We got a upgrade for our room so from single room to a triple room and we enjoyed it and felt like it was thoroughly quiet throughout the night eventho it’s on the bottom floor. Check in and check out was easy and smooth. It’s also in a lovely and beautiful neighbourhood that cycling and walking at night felt safe

It was pricey considering the room but that’s just prices in Amsterdam In general

The stuff was friendly, it was easy to get info, location was good, shops near by, toilet ja and bathroom big enough. We really liked terrace!

The rooms werent so clean and maybe pictures looked a little bit different. There should be a picture about stairs, its really high. Breakfast wasnt available.

The quadruple room was perfectly located, 3 mins away from the metro with only two stops from the centre. As a group we enjoyed walking all the way to the centre, taking us only 20 mins. The Hotel is located in a quiet street in a traditional Dutch building. There is also a supermarket nearby. The room was clean and cozy with all basic necessities needed. The receptionist was welcome and guided us accordingly. Highly recommended 👍

Personally I needed another pillow because it was too flat.
