There is hardly anything better in Amsterdam to get for the buck. Absolutely central location, clean rooms - the size is another topic, but hey, I am anyhow just sleeping there, right - very nice staff, ok breakfast. They are in the process of refurbishing, but you will not be disturbed by that unless you sleep all day and work all night. Given the price tag (mid Jan) a no-brains recommendation.

There is always room for improvement, so I'd vote for the breakfast. I am not 100% sure those eggs we're real eggs scrambled, or convenience, but they looked suspiciously industrial. And real Muesli options would also be fine.

Room was perfect, had everything I could need. Location is great, on one of the main canals, but also close to vondelpark and museums. Isn't in the booming tourist area, though easily walkable, so would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a chilled place to stay with good access to everything. 3 minute walk to the main Amsterdam metro line (M52), and to one of the main tram stations.

Nothing at all I disliked.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite ample, with a good choice of food and drinks. Very nice location on the Prinsengracht, not far from the Museum quarter.

The desk chair was very rickety and needs replacing. The room was billed as having a "room safe" but I could not find one anywhere. I asked about this at reception and was informed that the safe was "on the left". But that is where the shower room is. At any rate, I could find no sign of a safe.

Very convenient location in a safe area. It is between a Metro station and a tram stop. Supermarket nearby. Easy access to all main attractions. Quite road, very polite, helpful hotel neighbours. The hotel had few benches outside over looking the canal and we spent few evening on those benches. All staff in the hotel reception spoke good English so communication wasn't an issue, also they were helpful and friendly. Very pretty looking hotel with a lovely flower basket in each window. You can hire bicycles from the hotel which we found very convenient. Rooms and communal areas were very clean.

The room we stayed was quite small for 3 people, bathroom door did not have lock so couldn't lock from inside. The lift is small too but it didn't matter for us as we didn't have large luggages.

Really lovely little hotel right on the canal. Close to public transport and walking distance to many places. We had a twin room which comprised of two single rooms sharing a private bathroom, perfect for friends. We appreciated the luggage storage while we went off to explore, and there were plenty of options at breakfast.

I was worried after the odd reviews saying about small or dirty. We didn't have any issues, the room was clean and warm, was cleaned daily, a little fridge to keep our bits chilled, the staff were always friendly and welcoming. A nice 20 minute walk or so from everything and the center, 5 min walk from the metro, everything is walkable from here but also quiet enough in the evening

The bed mattress would slide apart which is a shame as meant couldn't go to sleep with my partner as felt almost slept seperately but it isn't the end of the word - if anything we didn't have to share a duvet then!

It's a small and cosy feeling hotel with very welcoming and lovely staff. I've stayed in the single room, and although it was quite a small room, it was very well spaced out and clean. Its location is by far the best as it is located in the old part of Amsterdam and happens to be a short walk to most of the tourist attractions as well as great food places and is just a 30 minuteish walk from the central station. I especially recommend staying in this hotel if you are planning to visit the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh musem as they both are just a short walk away.

The location on a pretty canal was lovely, it was very peaceful in the evenings, no problem with traffic noise. The staff were knowledgable and helpful, and the breakfast had a good variety.

The water in the shower alternated hot/cold with changes in the pressure elsewhere in the house.

This hotel has the perfect location on a canaal but without all the tourists spots. It is quiet at night. There is a great buffet breakfast available and beautiful terrace outdoor. Love this hotel that I call my home in Amsterdam. The staff is also amazing and always happy to help. Recommend warmly.

The rooms could be a little refreshed in term of decoration but I design hotels as my job and I am just very attentive to details. The rooms are fine but could be even better my a little extra touch. I would be happy to help :)

Great staff, good location close enough to be in walking distance, but far enough to be quiet. Beautiful gardens.

Room was small, but fine as I wasn't there to spend time in it.
