The house was utterly charming. It's on a beautiful canal, in one of the nicer areas of town (so I'm told by local friends who live in Amsterdam). We were lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves (we booked the Moon and the Star suites, first and second floors, each room is the whole floor). It looks like there are three rooms in total, but the lower ground floor was empty. The upper floors we had were incredible, spacious and warm with great views of the canal outside. Everything worked well, underfloor heating in one of the rooms, a huge bath tub in the other, and great water pressure. Any house in Amsterdam is going to have those trap stairs which are steep and feel more like a ladder. So, be warned, there is no lift but of course we knew this and it didn't bother us. The communal kitchen downstairs was lovely, and the hosts provided some beer and wine for us to drink during our stay - I didn't realise this was included when I booked, so what a lovely surprise! The location is very close to Rembrantsplein but not too close. You will not hear the noise but you can just see it from the first and second floor windows. It is 2min walk from the tram stop to Amsterdam Centraal, so that is about 14min overall journey into the center. Really, there is nothing to overly dislike. The hosts were wonderful, we met one towards the end and arranged for our bags to be stored in the house while we explored the town on our last day. I would absolutely consider staying here again.
For breakfast, they had a deal with a local cafe (Brug 34) but it didn't seem to exist. The new business offered 10% off our breakfast bill however.

The room is in an ideal location allowing us to see many sites within walking distance. Also had a wonderful private canal tour on our arrival. Way better than the boats crowded with 40 or more. Coffee maker in the room and extra supplies in kitchen.
There was no breakfast offered but there are many cafes nearby. The old building does need some attention. We could never open the windows. The window shade on one tall window is stuck in the open position. These things should be easily fixed allowing guests to fully enjoy this wonderful location.

Everything was wonderful! Great communication from the hosts, easy check in. The room was spacious, the bed was SO comfortable, and on these cold days, it was very warm. The view of the canals is amazing. The bathroom is HUGE and the shower also huge. We loved everything about our stay. The location is central to all of the areas you might want to visit, on foot. Grateful we could leave our luggage for a few hours while we explored before our flights as well. Very highly recommend, and I would stay again when we return to Amsterdam.
Really nothing-just two things that might help people who are looking for a stay here. The steps are a bit steep (no lift), but I think that is a part of many places in Amsterdam. The other would be maybe one more set of towels for hands/face. But these are very small things and would never impact my personal decision to stay again.

We travelled to Amsterdam to attend a concert and found that it was also King's Day. The host from the time of booking maintained regular communication to confirm we had all the relevant details we needed. The apartment was centrally located so we able to witness and participate in the festivities without going too far, as most of the activities were taking place in close proximity. Many restaurants and sites within walking distance. The room itself was really spacious and well lit which is a unique element in Amsterdam, beautiful kitchen which was also well equipped. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and I would return on my next trip to Amsterdam.
This is not a criticism per se, I would only recommend replacing some items in the room which may have worn out with time.

This is a real gem. Spacious room with a big modern bathroom in a high class area near Rembrantplais which has dozens of restaurants. A quiet and upmarket area and double glazing ensures a good nights sleep. Only a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city. The real magic is the view of the canal across the road. It is the spot where you can see 6 other bridges so the canal boats are always jockeying for a view. We spent hours looking out the window at the canal and all the action. It has a large communal kitchen which we used to make breakfast. Never saw another guest so we had it to ourselves. The complimentary beers and wine were most appreciated. We stayed in the Moon Suite.
Two fights of steep steps but a small price to pay

Great location and beautiful room. The canal view was wonderful. Very spacious room, comfortable bed, and lovely bathroom with shower and bath.
I never received the email from the hosts giving me the information to check in. When I arrived it was late due to my flight being later than expected. The door was locked and I tried calling every number I could find, then finally sent a message through booking.com - someone answered the door and the owner answered the phone at the same time, after we waiting at the door for 15 minutes. The woman who helped us in did help us with luggage up the narrow stair case, but everyone acted like I had done something wrong. I showed her I never received the email with instructions and then she understood it wasn't me, but them, but the only comment was "that's strange". No apology from owners or manager. Would expect more hospitality and kindness towards guests.

The suite was excellent! The view of the canal was very Amsterdam. The suite is stylish, plenty of room, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and great for 2 people, with the bath an added bonus. We appreciated using the kitchen as we were staying with friends who rented a room downstairs. Sophie was very helpful and accommodating. We were grateful that we could leave our luggage when we arrived early and then when we were leaving. The location is excellent. We would definitely book again!

The property is beautiful and in a great location.
We picked it especially for the canal view and enjoyed looking out with a coffee in the morning g and glass of wine in the evening but unfortunately the second day we we there building work was happening early in the morning which disturbed us and it meant a huge blue netting and scaffolding was covering the front of the building blocking our previously lovely view. This was really disappointing and spoiled an otherwise perfect place for us. I would advise anyone staying in future to check this out first. The owners said they were unaware this was happening which was a shame. We would probably have chosen something else had we known this was happening.
