Staff amazing. Accommodating, friendly and upstage the hotel itself. Great place with great character. Rooms aren't perfect but they are good value for money. Great location, weekends are busy but that's Amsterdam for you and why many go.
Prices of the snacks and drinks within the reception are expensive as is Amsterdam itself but I think if they could offer some snack packages, say a drink, crisps and chocolate for one set price or similar they would sell more than they do. Also tried to negotiate, respectfully, to buy some juice in bulk only to be told that I'd need to pay full price for every can... Could have been some easy profit there if a deal could have been struck. Nothing major but I'd have entertained any kind of offer beyond full full. They have a business to run though so fair enough. Left lots of free water, beer, pepsi and cider for the staff so guess they got the best deal in the end 😁 😂 Outside of that, staff interactions were fairly impeccable.

I booked this hotel for the location and how well the rooms looked online. I wasn't disappointed. Located 1 short street away from Rembrantplein, a mini Times Square with a tram stop, it was an ideal base. Most buildings in Amsterdam are old but the hotel has modern rooms with quality fittings, floors etc. Bed was super comfy and entire hotel was spotless. Excellent shower 🚿. Nice view of canal. Would I stay in this hotel again- yes.
Just to be aware, the nearby square has a party atmosphere so light sleepers should bring ear plugs despite the good windows. The stairs wasnt an issue for me but are steep and narrow. Lifts are rare.

Perfect location, right on the canals on Herrengracht, friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable bed, the room was quite spacious given the fact that the building is quite old and it's in central Amsterdam. We even got a view of the canal, which was fun to watch all the canal tours going by. Room was well-equipped (coffee machine, mini-fridge, water boiler), they also provided these plus a microwave downstairs, which was convenient. Just a note for people with mobility issues, there's no elevator and like all old buildings in Amsterdam, the stairs are very steep (almost vertical in parts). The staff does offer to carry up your luggage though. Our room was slanted, i.e. floorboards were slanted (but this also is typical of Amsterdam). These weren't issues for us after we got used to things.
It's on the expensive side for what it was, not enough electrical outlets and hooks for towels, there was only one hook near the sink but we were 3 people. Also, the toiletries were on the cheap side and had weird scents (cheap smelling), which didn't exactly match the cost of the room. Maybe if there were more attention to detail the cost would've felt worthwhile.

Incredible location. We had the room in the basement, which was perfect (with the exception of the view which was nonexistent but hey, we knew we were booking a room in the basement). We were afraid it would have been humid and cold but the temperature was just perfect and the room in amazing conditions! And it’s also sound-proofed which is a plus as you are right in the city center very close to bars and clubs! We slept like babies! The staff was very welcoming and kind I would totally recommend it and will definitely book again if we happen to go to Amsterdam again.

The location is great being so close to the center and canal district. The staff were super friendly and helpful with everything we needed while we were there.
We weren’t aware how inaccessible it was - in terms of lots of steep stairs (in an old building!). It was manageable but I think being more up front on that would be helpful for this property as it could be a huge barrier for some but worked ok for us (with gracious help from the staff with our luggage!). It can also be a bit loud - again old building - has SO much charm but also has the impact of being an old building. Manageable (and ear plugs provided!) but that’s the trade off for a nice central location!

Location was great . Just set back from Rembrandtplein and a mere couple of minutes walk to the tram stop to take you into the centre . The view from room 102 with its 180 degree windows was really cool. The double mattress was slightly on the hard side but very comfy . En suite shower was excellent and the bed was made and the room was tidied every day . Very pleasant staff. The outside street can get noisy at night but the double glazing removed 95% of the problem . We slept well .
The windows, despite offering a great view of the city, were filthy . Please clean them . Storage space is very limited for hanging clothes . Selling a 1 little bottle of water for 4 euros in reception when you’ve paid £200 a night for a room is unnecessary . Also, having to go downstairs to reception every morning to ask for milk was a minor inconvenience .

Room was cosy and perfect with canal view. We stayed in a Prem double, spacious and a spacious bathroom area which is through an archway with a separate door for the lavatory. The hotel is located just outside the touristy areas which was lovely. But only 5- 10 mins walk from the main square and shopping streets. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Hosts were welcoming and went above and beyond throughout our stay. Would recommend and definitely be staying again. Thank you
Nothing to not like.

Loved the original features & Im sure most of the rooms are stunning. Bed comfy & very friendly staff.
We were in the attic room. Very dark, tiny windows & bad ventilation. Without natural light & only downward spotlights it was very hard to see especially when applying make up etc. Shower in the same room made it very hummid & no ventilation in the toilet. Not great for 200 a night we thought it would be a better room

The hotel was very central ( 2 mins from the tram stop at Rembrantsplein ) in a lovely building. Staff were very helpful and responsive at all times and the building is beautiful. Liked the radiator in the room so you could easily control the temperature and the windows opened too. Our rooms ( premium rooms) were a good size and the bathroom was well thought out. My room overlooked the canal but wasn’t noisy at night. Coffee machine, kettle and small fridge all in the room. Would stay here again.
The stairs are as steep as you would expect in an old Amsterdam house but the staff carried up the luggage for you so you didn’t have to carry any heavy bags up the stairs. Lighting in the rooms is pretty low level / would have been good to have a reading lamp or similar for extra light by the bed.

The location was perfect! The rooms were very clean, and the staff very friendly. The room was cleaned every day, and there was someone in the reception desk all the time. Highly recommended!! We Will definitely visit this Hotel again!
There is no elevator, but for us this was not an issue, the staff in reception were very helpful and they helped with the luggages. Overall no negative comments.
