Location was perfect. Within 100m of tram, mini mart, local markets, laundromat and the best kebab shop. Room was surprisingly small but comfortable & clean.

Airconditioning didn't work for 3 out of 4 nights we stayed but as hotel was 100% occupied we could not move rooms but we were offered complimentary breakfasts which was appreciated. Tania and staff were fantastic.

Great location, easy walking and/or tram access. Close to a grocery store, cafes, restaurants. Easy walking to museum area. Liked that the hotel provided bottled water. Great selection for breakfast (maybe a little pricey). Great, helpful staff. Room was comfortable, clean and I appreciated the upgrade to double room with view on canal. I felt safe traveling as a single woman.

Would be great to have a small mini fridge in room to keep items cold. I was in an adjoining room and could clearly hear what was going on next door. Fortunately it did not continue late into the night and didn’t impact my sleep.

The hotel location was perfect close to restaurants, supermarket and the street market late night takeaways close by if you end up coming home later than planned. Room was clean,decent size and the bathroom and shower were nice

The room was cold at night the air conditioner would not allow you to turn the heat up and the small radiator in the room wasn't warm enough to keep the room warm. Also people queuing for lifts in the morning were noisy outside the room as the door to the room is directly by the doors to the lift. Maybe a sign could be put up asking guests to be quiet when waiting for the lift in the morning after breakfast.

Everything was excellent – from the cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the facilities to the professionalism and kindness of your staff. First of all, I would like to thank you for the pleasant stay at your hotel. However, I noticed an issue in the bathroom that I wanted to bring to your attention. Instead of an exhaust system there appears to be an air intake system For the long-term well-being of the room, this is not ideal, as it prevents proper moisture removal and may eventually lead to mold growth.

Great staff. It was our 5th time with Ibis and 2nd at this locations. And hats off to Miss Tania who was absolutely brilliant with the hospitality. She made us feel home and really cared that our daughter had a wonderful time. Other hotels should pick up a thing or two on hospitality and making your guest feel at home. Thanks you Miss Tania. We look forward to making this our permanent voice of stay for future trips. Also close to the daily market where you get wonderful snacks n local shopping.

Safe Indoors. In a relatively safe neighbourhood. Nothing bad about our stay. We didn’t opt for breakfast so can’t review about that.

The room was great. Breakfast extraordinary. The location is not central, but the trams are going directly to the main train station. The hotel is inside an old Dutch house and has its atmosphere, which makes it stand out from the usual hotels.

I was commuting to the university campus, and there the connection was worse. But that is sort of my problem. Also, the elevator stopped working when I was there. Thus, I had to use the steps, and Dutch steps are very steep, so a bit of exercise a couple of times a day ;) But I am pretty sure that was an exception, and it was fixed quickly.

It was very good value for money, we had a canal view room and it was a great bonus. Location was good, walking distance to most attractions and a tram stop, right around the corner There was a female member of staff on reception when we arrived and she couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, a great asset for the hotel.

We had a small leak in the bathroom on our second day, but once we told the staff, she had us moved into another room, as soon as it was available . So there wasn't really anything that I didn't like.

The location is amazing. We loved the staff there. We booked a taxi to the airport. The taxi driver stopped on the other side of building and asked us to come to him. Since we couldn’t explain how to get to us we gave my phone to the reception person, and he spoke to the driver for some time. Turns out the driver was lazy and didn’t want to drive to the other side of the building, so he pushed him to do saying it’s disrespectful for his guests. Thanks for the help if you are reading!

It was a bit noise on a Saturday night. There was a group of people speaking or yelling and the walls aren’t that noise proof

Located in a very nice area and walking distance from city centre, with a tram stop just one minute away. Kind and helpful staff. Bed was comfortable.

There was a bit of black mould in the shower (room 210). Also it doesn't keep the temperature and hits with very hot or very cold water.

Bilal on the front desk was great and super helpful. The location is central enough, only a few stops to Damrak and Amsterdam Central on the tram and metro, and also RAI if you have work there. I would recommend taking trams if you can, they seem cheaper and you can just swipe your credit card in and out. Don't make the mistake I made, which was to buy a chip card at the Metro machine which was crazily overpriced just for an empty (reusable) card which you need to top up after 1 hour or 24 hours. I didn't know until my last day at Ibis that the hotel was just next to the Albert Cuyp market which has amazing poofrtjes, herring sandwiches, famous stroopwaffels, cheap cheese, souvenirs, and all sorts!! There are also at least two supermarkets nearby. I spent some 4 hours at the market shopping and eating, before rushing to my booked time slot at the Rijksmuseum just down the road. If you like Indian food or are vegetarian, Ibis is right next to one of the best vegetarian Indian restaurant chains on the planet. I would definitely stay here again if I ever had to return to this country in future.

The only thing is that the shower is super small and I am a petite 5"1 Asian. There were also a few steps at the entrance so take care if you have to carry heavy luggage. The neighbourhood is a bit dark and quiet at night, so if you are a solo female traveller like I was, make sure you know your way or that your data/google maps is always working. Hotels in Amsterdam dont seem to provide bottled water except for the first day so best to bring your own reusable bottle, the tap water is drinkable, so saves your euros on mineral water.
