The place is amazing, with a beautiful and charming decoration; its like going back in time! The staff are great; kind, really helpful and professional. The breakfast is simply above expectation, so is the coffee too! The rooms are confortable and clean, with great beds. The massages at the Spa are really great! I would really come back!!

Breakfast was amazing, one of the best hotel buffet breakfasts I have ever seen. The building is gorgeous, the surroundings next to a national park are excellent and also surprisingly accessible by train from Amsterdam. I had dinner one night at the hotel and the food was incredible. Free spa access for guests is a nice touch.
The room looked out onto the car park (only the suites face the gardens, it seems) and the maintenance area, and one morning it sounded like sawing right under my window for about an hour around 11 am. It was mid-day so it didn't disturb my sleep and I didn't complain, but was annoying. Also, as other reviewers remarked- for this price, it's a bit stingy to not include lotion and conditioner in the room, but there is a sign in the bathroom that both are available at the front desk by request.

The hotel is better in reality than it was pictured. The service is uncommon and for international travelers puzzling at times: no dinner after 8:15 pm, cold plates in the bar until 10 pm and warm plates from 10 pm until midnight (one would expect the opposite), the bill announced loud and clear after dinner ( it would be good if this habit would be dropped, it looks a bit unpleasant no matter how the bill is, no bottle of water in the room- which has an empty fridge). The breakfast is nice: beware though if you take it in the room you do have to count exactly the number of bread slices you wish ( any number is fine, but by default you would get exactly one slice of bread, fully wrapped). This might also appear quaint: everything is fully wrapped ( alu foil or plastic foil), rather than a basket of bread & danish pastries, you would get a plate with one pastry, wrapped, one plate with one slice of bread, wrapped... some ecological consideration would be welcome. Bikes & co: good availability of bikes ( e-bike as well as standard), easy to use. We greatly appreciated! All in a very nice place ( nicer than on the pictures), well maintained, all services available. To be recommended!

Grand hotel style: professional and polished from staff to facilities to room. Visited during shoulder season/spring, no crowds, no tourist pricing, so nice. National park behind hotel, great running paths. Spa area is very large for hotel: 2 dry saunas, 1 wet sauna, IR sauna and a 6 person jacuzzi. Lounge chairs in/outside. Have never been to a sauna and was required to wear swim gear, felt very odd- but whatever! Super comfortable bed. English channels on TV. Elevators at every stair case, took 5 elevator rides during one excursion, super handicap friendly, kudos. 19km to Keukenhof gardens, 7km to Haarlem- terrific location for hotel. Staff speaks English and is quite gregarious, hotel experience was a 10.

Duin Kuinberg is an Excellent hotel. The building was a country estate of a wealthy Amsterdam merchant in the 1600s. The building was greatly rebuilt in 1907, so that most of what you see is 1907 architecture. The interiors and furnishings are equally lavish as the exterior. It is not a castle. It was a weekend home of the Renaissance rich. Our room was on the 2nd floor and small, but nicely appointed and cozy with new fixtures. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The spa is very nice and open to all guests. They have sauna, steam room, IR chamber and hot tub. A rent car is almost mandatory to get here. The hotel is surrounded by gardens and the gardens are surrounded by national park. Lots of good woodland strolls, vigorous walking, and full scale hiking available.
I had a couple of small dissatisfactions: The room door does not automatically lock when you leave. You must present your keycard from the hallway side in order to lock it. I didn't figure this out till halfway through the stay. Which means my room was totally unlocked most of the time. Every time you leave the room, the wifi logs you out and you must sign in back every time with name and room number. These were minor annoyances. Overall this is a beautiful historic hotel, well maintained with new amenities. It has the best of old world and modern world. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, beautiful building radiating the allure of elegance, finesse, and refinement. The restaurant was fantastic! We were really impressed by all the plates. The room was comfortable. The bed was very comfortable.
Please don't use 2 single duvet on double beds, it was not really convenient as a couple that we had to "fight" with the duvets in order to hug during sleep. Double bed = single piece double duvet, unless the client asks for something different. Secondly, I did not really aesthetically appreciate the fake fireplace nor the fake candles. The estate is luxurious, the allure is that of refined elegance, and finesse. Only real wood fire should be in the fireplace, only real candles should be lit. It is truly "off" to use fake electronic candles from China, while there are beautiful painting hanging on the walls!

A lovely place to stay with spacious, very clean rooms. It is next to a national park, giving a lot of options to discover the area. There is an ok restaurant to dine, good bar for 'after-dinner' drinks. Breakfast is expensive but offers very extensive and good quality options from cheese varieties, to ham/sausage, roast beef, Salmon, fruits, some vegetables, porched or scrambled eggs, different types of musli, dried fruits, nuts, fresh squeezed juices. The interior is lovely, you can really feel the atmosphere. Plenty of parking options. Staff very friendly and helpful
The pillows have been so uncomfortable that we had bad sleep despite comfy mattress. Very long waiting time in the restaurant, beware of that (we had the first dish around 30-40 min later after we sat). The total price of the stay was a bit too high but this can be due to us staying during Easter period

This was our second time staying here and it was just as great as we remembered. The breakfast and spa were lovely, and the drinks at the bar were excellent. The only downside was the limited vegetarian options in the restaurant. We had informed the staff of our dietary needs at check-in, but the menu was quite inflexible, so we ended up with just bread, fries, and a simple salad. A heads-up about this would have been helpful. Still, we had a wonderful stay and would love to come back again!

Very nice hotel in a beautiful country-side sounding but close to town. Excellent if you have a car. Not really convenient if you have to rely on public transport but train station is only 700m away. Large and well equipped rooms, though our windows are directly to other room separated only by about a 10m wide court yard so we have a keep curtains closed all the time. Beautiful sounding! OK breakfast but a bit pricy (24 eur per person). Quite some up and downs with stairs from reception to our rooms.
Curtains can not be open due to close rage to other windows. Car charging advertised but could not find. (we didn't ask though). Not convenient to access rooms for elderly or with heavy luggage.

The location and surroundings were excellent! The staff we spoke to were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast had many options.
For the price, the room did not meet expectations. It was a bit dated and, while tidy, was in need of a more thorough cleaning. The shower door leaked very badly. We brought this up with reception after our first night there and were told that housekeeping would look at it, but the problem was not rectified and we received no update on the situation.
