The property itself is beautifully maintained having been lovingly restored from a wreckage to mirror its former glory. The owners could not be more accommodating and helpful and should be extremely proud of the welcoming accommodation they have created. The breakfast is a lovely touch and feels very personal. it is well worth the 12.50 per person per day. The rooms themselves are nicely decorated with period features and lots of spaces. They are well stocked with all of the things you may need or may have forgotten and are a comfortable place to be. An aura of calm resonates and little touches like the mini bar requiring you to leave the money for anything you drink builds trust between you and the owners. I

This was a real gem. We hoped for this place to be special, and it delivered. The accommodation was very private, with our car parked right in front of our door. Inside, we found so much class, style and history that during the first hour of our stay in this place, we carefully treaded from one discovery to another, including reading about the history of the place and former owners. The current owners let you do your thing; they are not on your doorstep monitoring your good behaviour minute to minute like in many other B&Bs. The delicious and democratically priced breakfast is served modestly outside your door for you to take in as you ordered. The dishes can be disposed of in a similar delicate way. We still remember sitting in the living room of this apartment in the early morning sun, enjoying breakfast. It was a good experience.

Nothing to dislike.

It’s perfectly located between a beautiful town, the beach and directly inside the national park. The interior is stylishly decorated and it has everything you need. The house itself is an old mansion, surrounded by gardens and high trees, the hosts are very friendly and the breakfast is really lavish. In the bathroom, there’s loads of products and lots of interesting furniture, and objects around the flat. Our hosts were very attentive and welcoming. we rented bikes from them which were very handy for investigating the area. Also you’re just next to the bus stop which will take you either into town or to the beach. It’s really not necessary to drive. The property used to belong to a very influential woman a few hundred years ago and there are some interesting pictures and books about her in the property .

It’s a little noisy because there is a road directly alongside the gardens. The flat downstairs can feel dark but in the morning the Sun comes through the living room windows and it’s very lovely.

This was a great place to stay just on the outskirts of Haarlem. Superb bed and breakfast. Francoise was a lovely hostess. The suite of rooms was very spacious sitting and dining area, large bedroom area with very god bed and bed linen. Bathroom in in the middle of the suite and is very good with a lovely selection of natural washing products. Fresh and well judged breakfast delivered in a basket in the morning to enjoy in the morning. Walk along the canal into town in 20 minutes or explore the natural park around the house.

This is a wonderful location with interesting history. We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful this suite is (the listing said room, but we had a private suite with personal entrance). The attention to detail is immaculate, very elegant yet homely and warm. Every day was like being in a beautifully styled film. The hosts welcoming and kind. We are so glad to experience staying here....its another world, the kind you dream of for a beautiful stay

Atmosphere of this apartment is just amazing! Everything is made with love and care. Perfect location and very nice ovner. If you are looking for slow weekend it’s perfect place for it.

We stayed there in the winter and it was very cold there because it is an old villa. The owner gave us an electronic heater which saved us a bit at night.

Loved that it was hidden away and you felt you touched the history of the area. Loved it was being brought back to life by Francoise and her family and that there was still evidently a lot of work to be done in addition to everyday maintenance. Brave to take on such a project.

We were absolutely blown away by this accommodation! The room is huge, homely and beautiful with so many facilities to make the stay just perfect. The hosts were so friendly on arrival, making us feel so welcome to be staying in their wonderful, historic house. They gave us amazing recommendations for local restaurants and visits, which we took up and absolutely loved! The house has a fascinating history and sits upon a beautiful rose garden. We loved sitting outside in our private piece of garden, which was lovely and quiet, and saying hello to the little, old house dog who kept paying us visits! The location is perfect if you want somewhere lovely for nice woodland walks, that’s also close to the beach as well as being walking distance from the town with lots of shops and restaurants. We don’t tend to visit the same place twice but we’ve agreed that we’ll definitely go back and stay in this wonderful house again!

The hosts have gone above and beyond to make the room comfortable, luxurious and full of excellent facilities. The only tiny thing I could say if I were very fussy, is that the mattress could be slightly more comfortable. I can’t fault anything else at all and I only wish we’d have stayed longer!

Huge rooms, lovely decorated. Beautiful house on a smallholding in an upmarket suburb. Close to all shops/ restaurants you may need. Owner very accommodating.

Located on a busy road, pity about the noise. No problem however inside in our room, we slept good.
