The B&B is located in a classic old Dutch building and was convenient to the city center and very walkable to other areas. The number 300 bus is right outside and across from the building. We were able to take it from the train station, and directly to Schiphol airport. The breakfast was great, and despite our very early morning departure at the end of our stay, breakfast was placed in the fridge in advance. Our hosts were very communicative in advance of our arrival. We would stay here again.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about Hart van Haarlem. Just a note that as with many standing showers, water can leak out from the lip of the stall.

One of the best B&Bs I've stayed in, anywhere. Very comfortable bed. Amazingly tasty breakfast, beautifully served. A large room in a grand historic house in the centre of Haarlem with its own courtyard garden where we could have breakfast served. The room was well supplied and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a beautiful large bouquet of flowers in the room. Friendly and thoughtful hospitality from Ad and Esther made this a wonderful trip, and our room a beautiful place to return to after sightseeing. Thank you. We hope to return! Very highly recommended.

My room was large, beautiful, tasteful, elegant, colourful, comfortable and unique with antique furniture, chandeliers and huge windows looking onto the garden. The bed was large and comfortable as was the generous sitting/TV area. The location was excellent; check in was easy and breakfast was superb, the best I've ever had. The kitchen was a good size, modern and really well equipped and offered a selection of teas and coffees, plus cooking oil and.condiments.
The only thing I didn't like was the size of the bath towels as I would expect bath sheets in such a special place. I would also suggest that the rubbish bin in the kitchen is unnecessarily large and detracts from the overall sleekness of the kitchen area. Other than that I absolutely loved this b and b and would definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous trip. The B&B is on the bus number 300 route from shipol airport and stops right outside. The location is excellent...opposite a supermarket, 20 mins walk from the train station/bus station, within walking distances of the canal and boat trips and plenty of shops. The breakfast was very good and Ad and Esther were lovely hosts. Breakfast trolley was brought to our room every morning at 9am. We had booked a bus from Haarleem to Keukenhof one day and needed our breakfast earlier and that was not a problem. Kuekenhof was excellent. A lovely place to see all the spring flowers in bloom in beautiful garden displays. We had Room B. It was a great big room with high ceilings. It had a microwave, kettle fridge and coffee maker together with some crockery and cutlery so very handy to eat in when we were too tired to go out for a meal. The bed was really comfortable.
Our visit was primairly for the Keukenhof festival and gardens visit. It was very dissapointing the garden area attached to the property was not as per the photographs on the website and were a bit of a mess. Esther did say on the morning we were leaving that they were going to be replanted and sorted.

Very nice owners and amazing breakfast. Location was spot on very close to any main point in Haarlem (train station bus and grocery shop are right in the front door)
It was not clean. The carpets, floor and table + counters looked like they have not been cleaned in a while. The bathroom was pretty clean though but overall the floors and counters were extremely dirty and dusty.

We really liked this place. The bike parking is secure and convenient in the charming courtyard—though the covered spaces were full, so our bikes stayed out in the rain. The rooms are interesting and full of character, with comfortable beds and a cozy, welcoming feel. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with non‑dairy options available, and served in a very lovely setting right in our room. The staff were kind and attentive throughout our stay.
Limited covered bike parking. (There could be more room but other items are stored in the covered areas)

The place is an absolute dream. Located right next to a bus stop in the very centre of Haarlem, five minutes away from the main cathedral and the golden streets. Then the apartment itself is spectacular, spacious, cozy, elegant, with a stunning soft king size bed, massive windows looking on a beautiful green yard, super fast wifi, comfortable couch right next to the window. In the morning there is a rich breakfast delivered to the apartment. Everything clean and well arranged. We had a perfect stay.
Maybe for the breakfast cart to not be demanded to be returned within 2 hours, but thats only because the food is so abundant that it cannot be eaten right away:)

Ad and Esther were amazing hosts. They were fun to talk with, and very helpful. They also prepared an amazing breakfast each morning! Our room was spacious and clean, and we had an access to a wonderful garden where we enjoyed wine, cheese, and chocolate that we purchased in Haarlem. Our location was incredibly close to the Grote Market, as well as surrounding shops and restaurants. It was also easily accessed by bus and train.
There was nothing that we did not like about the property.

Our 5 night stay at Het Hart van Haarlem was one of the most enjoyable of our many stays. The long size, comfortable bed, large room with windows to the garden and mini kitchen was perfect. Starting each day with a delicious breakfast and being located steps from a public transport stop made it easy for a couple without a car to easily get around. Ad and Esther as hosts were communicative prior to and during our stay, offering superb ideas and flexibility for checking in and breakfast. We hope to come back often!
Nothing.

The location in the centre of town is excellent with everything in easy walking distance. The room in an historic building has a lot of character. We enjoyed the really good breakfast. The elderly hosts are very nice people but it felt like keeping the place going may be too much for them these days.
The room hadn’t been cleaned properly. There were stale breadcrumbs on the table and I had to clean dirty marks in the bathroom myself. The room isn’t serviced or cleaned at all while you’re there. The bathroom is tiny and the water pressure in the shower is very weak. The towels are small and there’s only one short rail to hang them on to dry. The garden is overgrown and full of weeds and the outdoor furniture was dirty with cobwebs. We expected better quality and cleanliness for a place with such a high rating and which is very expensive.
