Excellent staff, welcoming, always smiling, professional, helpful, friendly - led by wonderful Rolf, the manager, who never seemed to stop working! The staff make every effort to make your stay comfortable. Very comfortable beds. Superb breakfast and excellent evening meal. Great location. Stylish decor in public areas. Would definitely stay there again. Good outside areas, with comfortable seating.

We understand the hotel is bring gradually updated; the public areas have been done (reception, bar, restaurant etc) and the bedroom corridors, bedrooms and bathrooms will follow. Having said that, it's a really good place to stay - see positive comments above, and the staff are lovely.

The location of the hotel is excellent and in a great vibey neighbourhood, which allows one to explore Haarlem straight from the hotel. Our room was great and quiet and had enough space for 2 of us to move around . It was lovely listening to the Church bells and the activities on the Grote Markt were great fun.

Our room didn't have an air conditioner . With temperatures around 30 degrees last week, it was very hot in the room especially as it also got all the afternoon sun. Although a fan was provided, and brought some relief, it would have been much nicer to have had an aircon. Some sort of shower enclosure - even just one sided, would also have been great, as with the bathroom essentially a wet room, there is water everywhere once you have showered.

The location is absolutely perfect for visiting Haarlem. It is directly across the street from Saint bravo Church in the heart of the old town. The room was near me enough and had good storage and a clean bathroom. They are painting the entire property from head to toe. Carpet is absolutely terrible and needed to be replaced 10 years ago, but they have it on the list of things they will be doing. Next-door is a high-end restaurant with absolutely delicious food. It truly is the heart of Harlem. Easy to get to from Amsterdam with a quick 20 minute train and then the number 300 bus to the first bus stop from the Harlem station. Easy walk of about five minutes after that.We paid double because we were there during Kings day. Everything was expensive so there wasn’t much we could do about it. We will definitely go back.

They didnt clean our room ..even after reminding them..we were out in amsterdam and before that we put infront our room door "make up our room" sign..i even also message the receptionist to remind them and they say, it was already cleaned..so, we were so exhausted and tired of touring amsterdam but when we arrived in our room..its not yet cleaned..it was so dissapointing..it is 6pm and we just want to lay down and rest ..so there is no time to clean our room..i just told them to give us fresh towels.. I hope this not gonna happen again..before confirming to us that our room is clean, pls double check it frst ..

Love the location, just opposite the beautiful church. Its just in the center of everything. Just step out from hotel and you’ll surrounded by many nice cafes with sun table. Train station is 10 min walk, and if you take bus from airport the stop is Centrum Verwulft. By chance we come during King’s Day where there is party everywhere but we can’t hear all the noise from our room on the back, so its good! Breakfast is quite good. If we come back to Haarlem ( we love this town), we’ll stay there again

Just be prepared for the wet shower. There is no shower door, but maybe that’s part of the style

The hotel is located in the historic downtown, with some of the most beautiful sights within reach, but also close enough to public transport - the railway station is within walking distance that can conveniently be covered even with luggage. The room was clean, with convenient space for unpacking luggage, and a proper desk for occasional work. Also, a kettle and a refrigerator are part of the equipment available. Free wifi worked well for me - all in all, the hotel is excellent for business travel, but also for city trips spanning some days.

The hotel is located in several interconnected historical buildings, with steep stairs leading to some of the rooms. These are difficult to navigate with a larger piece of luggage - it may be best to contact the hotel beforehand and ask if easier-to-access rooms are available.

Lovely place: beautifully decorated lobby and entrance, updated room. Literally across from the gorgeous Grote Kerk! Lots of restaurants in the plaza around the church; easy walking distance through picturesque alleys, to nearby museums & tourist info, and down major shopping street Grote Houtstraat (which includes supermarket Albert Heijn and other useful shops as well). Super helpful, pleasant staff. Lovely breakfast at the facility; also has restaurant and bar for dinner on site. They kept our luggage for us our last day. About half an hour's walk from the Haarlem train station. Shower was hot and beds were comfy and altogether it was a wonderful place to stay!

The hotel has a fabulous location in the centre of town and it’s about a 10-15 minute easy walk from the train station. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do more to help. Room large, fridge, kettle, beds very comfy, nice linen, lovely hot shower. Due to town centre location it’s busy in the evening so some noise in evening and early hours as people going home. Some great restaurants in Haarlem nearby. Also it’s an old building so whilst there is a lift our room meant a climb up some steep stairs.

Great location! About a 10 minute walk from the train station and just behind the St. Bavo Church. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Also, I accidentally left my passport AND my car keys in the room's safe and it was so easy and efficient to have them send them back to my home, which was a huge relief. The room was spacious and clean, the restaurant was great when I got back to the hotel hungry after walking around all day and other restaurants were already closed for lunch. I'd definitely go back.

Some other reviews mentioned the noise. I was on the inner-courtyard side, so it wasn't too much of a problem. Some noise in the hallway from other guests, but obviously not the fault of the hotel. I guess it could have been a bit noisy, but obviously not enough to have made a negative impact on me. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in the vicinity which one of the advantages of the location, but obviously could contribute to reviews about the noise.

Hotel is located in the center with a great view on a gothic church. 15 minute walk to the central station. Staff is great and always ready to help, so every issue could be resolved with them.

Don't know if it is common there, but big beds consist of two mattresses , and if you get your hand/leg in between, they move apart and you fall in.
