Location is downtown in the gorgeous city of Haarlem, near museums, shops, and nice restaurants. The staff is very kind and extremely accommodating, and we even got an upgrade. The room (diamonds of the sea) was spacious and had character. They even placed a Christmas tree in the room! We had a lovely stay and would visit again.

The downsides are small and, to a large part, kind of a natural consequence of the location and older built. There is a very small elevator that goes up very slowly to the 3rd floor. Stairs are very steep and not easy with a bunch of luggage (but that's where the elevator comes in handy). Because of the central location, there is some background noise from the street or neighbors outside of the hotel. If you are a light sleeper, this is something to be aware of. The hotel could consider some white noise machines for this. We ordered a breakfast which is served in the room. Some sweets and a "real coffee" (coffees from the in-room machine are not great in our opinion) would have made this more complete (but it was a totally fine breakfast).

The staff was very warm and helpful during check-in and helped me with the luggage. Thankfully there is a lift that gets you up to your room floor. The room was spacious but they also gave me an upgrade to an even more spacious room. Loved the free in-room mini bar, free-flow snack bar and free wines that comes with the room, they made the experience even greater! Sunset views from the room was a bonus. It was also located really close to the shopping streets and the windmill was 15mins walk away. But if walking is not for you, it is also close to the bus station that takes you the the train station in 10mins.

Loved having the outside area to myself. Great shower. Comfortable bed. Excellent position, great restaurant & bars outside yet still peaceful inside. Friendly staff.

As in most European countries stairs are part of life. My room was on the 2nd floor with a lift. However I then had quite step stairs to my door. Fortunately for me another kind guest helped me with my bag, after hours check in. After the staff helped at check out. So all ok. Safe for a solo traveller.

The staff at this hotel are amazing - very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were wonderful - large and comfortable, with lots of attention to distinguishing details (e.g., luxurious bathtubs, in-room espresso machine, complimentary in-room snacks and beverages, an additional hallway snack center, providing both shampoo AND conditioner - a bit of a rarity we found).

There are very narrow, steep stairs between the floors in this hotel (truly - almost a ladder!), but they do have an elevator and they practically insist on carrying your luggage to your room for you.

Skip Amsterdam and go straight to Haarlem... This hotel is beautiful. I loved it so much I'm booking a trip to go back, the room was spectacular high ceiling, terrace area, your own in room spa which is a lovely surprise so you'll have to stay here to find out, mini bar was included as part of our stay which stocked top shelf spirits and Bottega Prosecco, also iron, hairdryer, coffee machine & kettle with plenty of coffee and tea, there was also free treats left out in the hallways from chocolate muffins to lollypop, breakfast served to your room, Staff were extremely helpful and friendly they made us feel like VIP"s with their 5 star treatment. Looking forward to my next stay.

This property was nicely decorated and spacious. The staff were wonderful, helpful and accommodating! It was very clean!! The room was stocked with snacks and beverages all were complimentary.

The shower was cool by design but the rain shower went everywhere! We had lots of water outside the shower area? There was no washcloth? I’m not sure if they just don’t use them or I wasn’t communicating what I was looking for? The toilet ran ALL night and ALL day for three days. We did report all of it but we didn’t see any changes in conditions.

Great location in the heart of the center. Rooms are in an old building that has been renovated with steep stairs and an elevator. Canal with beautiful building fronts is a few steps away as well as many charming shops and restaurants. Front desk staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Room service breakfast was a lovely addition

The only thing we found a bit awkward was the glass shower in the bedroom as there was no privacy. The WC is in a separate area.

Right at the city center, all points of interests (tourism, public transportation, food) are within walking distance. The hotel is nearby the river and during the summer time, it is such a pleasant place to be. The suite I got exceeded my expectation. It had a sauna, the bed is comfortable, and the room is very spacious. Bar snacks are provided and the breakfast service is highly recommended.

Clean suits equipped nicely. Superior location (location is just nearby of Grote Markt and 3-5 minutes walk to Haarlem Philharmonie), very friendly and helpful staff. Bar is included in room rate which is nice benefit.

Due to very central location it was extremely loudly all the night. We literally were not able to sleep until 5 a.m. because some drunk people screamed heart-rendingly right under our windows without pause. It was like torture really. So, just be aware this place is not for you if you would prefer to rest properly at night.

Super friendly staff. Fantastic location. Central to everything. Clean. Thankful for the elevator. The stairs are narrow and steep which is fine but when you have luggage it is very helpful to have the elevator

Spa cabin was broken in one of our rooms. They couldn’t fix in time so they gave a complimentary breakfast. The room smelled a little moldy
