I absolutely loved staying at this hotel! The staff were so warm and friendly, and they always took the time to answer my questions and find out information for me. I felt like they went above and beyond to serve me, which was so lovely. I was even upgraded to a better room before my arrival! I loved the location and all the artworks around the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and in a beautiful space in the garden. I also really appreciated the free water fountain in the corridor and having a fridge in the room. I would stay here again if I come back to Noumea :)

Gondwana hotel is ideally located in the Latin quarter of Noumea with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. It is an easy walk to the central city. The hotel is quite funky in its style with an interesting layout around a central garden / court area. Rooms are very quiet. Breakfast was very good. Staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Bed was comfortable. Room was small but adequate, and very clean. Good water pressure in the shower.

Information said every room had an international power socket - ours did not, and reception did not understand when we asked. I ended up buying an adaptor from a local phone/computer store. Our room had a microwave oven and fridge (which was good) but no crockery, cutlery or other utensiles.

The Rooms are basic but comfortable enough - for the price the value is exceptional. The service was great at reception. The breakfast was amazing and the breakfast staff were so lovely. Easy walk to wharf where we had ferry transfers, can also walk to town and down to the main wharf centre where all the souvenir shops and cruise ship centre is. Easy airport transfer pick up from right outside.

Air con wasn’t great and kept turning off, fridge isn’t cold, but we were comfortable with the fan in the room (we stayed middle of summer).

Super helpful staff, great decor, lovely patio, lovely breakfast, great value (by Noumea standards). Included tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room was a great touch. For those wondering (like I was!!) - the two Gondwana properties are at the same location, the Art property is the 2 star wing, and the Eco property is the 3 star wing. They share reception and the patio area.

Bed was a little hard, but better than the lumpy worn out mattresses I had at more expensive Noumea hotels, and at least it was a proper double not two singles! Layout in the room was odd, but fine.

Breakfast is s bit of a rip off. Prices options are confusing. Not refills for machine coffee/hot chocolate. Butter and bread don't appear super fresh from the day. Upgraded rooms are very small and rudimentary for the price. Lighting of the room is not accorded. Bed lamps have different bulbs from one side to the other. Some very bright (blinding)

We got upgraded to Gondwana Green so our review scores are based on the experience we had. But some things are similar like breakfast, staff, location (since City Art and Green share the same), and they were all great. We walked to all the sights easily (Maison Célières, Musee de la ville, place des cocotiers, marche, port etc.), the staff helped us with taxi arrangements to Magenta airport (somehow arrangements when we were there were quoted cheaper than when enquired via messages, not sure if it was a miscommunication), breakfast as everyone who had it had shared: tasty, hearty, generous and they saw we were in a hurry, they even gave us takeaway bags to pack our viennoiseries.

For Gondwana Green, it would be great if there are towel hooks accessible from the bathroom.

All the staff (reception, at breakfast) were friendly and helpful. We stayed here 3 times during our 2-week trip in New Caledonia and we were upgraded to Green for all our stays. On days where we had free breakfast included, the breakfast was of superb quality and generous in portions. Loved the coffee/tea/chocolate available in the room. Water cooler to refill your bottles available at each floor. Location is central!

I probably could’ve asked to check if alternative pillow types were available, but I found the pillows too thick for my comfort.

Well located hotel in the centre of Noumea and within walking distance from all of the major attractions. Took the arc-en-ciel bus service to get there so was dropped off and picked up at the doorstep and was cheaper than a transfer organized through the hotel. The room and facilities were clean, spacious and a/c worked perfectly with fast wifi. There is filtered water cooler in the hallways so you can refill your bottles with cold water or use hot water for any food items, which was a nice touch. Staff were pleasant and helpful to navigate the closures so I could find somewhere to eat for dinner. This being France, most things are closed on a Sunday so the city centre was a ghost town and I arrived on Easter Sunday to compound things, so it was even more challenging. Found a great little restaurant by the marina which was perfect though.

Very cool and artsy hotel. Room and bathroom exactly like the pictures provided. A small shop located beside it (pretty expensive but better than the resort prices) Reception staff helpful. All staff friendly. wifi good, available in rooms. selection of tea/coffee/hot choc in room with jug. each floor has a purified water dispenser. 40min journey from the international airport. We booked the shuttle which made the transfer very easy. 10min to the domestic airport. Caught a taxi (which the hotel organised for us)

I had requested twin beds in my booking but given a Queen. We arrived very late so couldn’t be bothered asking to change. But worth checking if you are travelling with friends and twins is important. It can be echoey from the corridor into the rooms. Best solved with earplugs.

Perfect location, closed to bus station, shops, facilities, wonderful and helpful staff available 24h, really felt looked after, place based on ecology minded, large outside meeting area, would definitely go back,

2 x smoking areas on the first floor, although outside, the smoke and smell was still annoying, would have preferred these smoking areas to be somewhere else, perhaps on the top floor or roof,
